9. Jennifer Hudson. Since she’s lost all that weight Jennifer Hudson has been getting lots and lots of media attention. But I’d like to think she’d take some time to pay a visit to her home channel, Fox 5, and hang with the Glee gang.

8. Rebecca Black. What? Come on. Don’t give me that look. It’s not like she wouldn’t fit right in with that crazy cast of characters. And it’s not like Glee isn’t going to be using her music in an upcoming episode anyway. Why not let Rebecca Black join in on the fun while we still know her name?

7. Britney Spears. I know they already covered her music in that whole dental hygiene hallucination episode that left me and Brittany a bit puzzled, but I think the pop princess herself should make an appearance. I mean, what better way to end the season than with a Brittney Spears and Brittany S. Pierce duet?    

6. Steven Tyler. I don’t know if anyone else is still watching American Idol, but I’ve seen a few episodes this season and let me tell you, Steven Tyler just about makes the show since Simon’s departure. You don’t know exactly what he’s saying or why he’s saying it, but he makes you laugh, and that pretty much sums up Glee these days anyway.

5. Justin Bieber. After that Bieber fever filled episode I honestly thought the Bibes himself was going to make an appearance in the halls of McKinley High. And with Sam and his new hairdo it kind of felt like he actually did. I’d love to see these two belting out “Baby” together. It’d be a bigger hit than “Friday.” Though, to be fair, ANYTHING should be a bigger his than “Friday.”

4. Taylor Swift. Can’t you just see Taylor Swift belting out “Never Group Up” with Quinn Fabray, the girl who grew up too fast? It’d be the perfect song for Quinn to sing to her daughter if she were to suddenly reappear, along with Rachel’s birth mom. Which could totally happen, if you ask me. 

3. Barbara Streisand. “Don’t Rain on My Parade” is probably one of my favorite Rachel Berry numbers so I can’t even imagine how great it would be to see Rachel singing “Funny Girl” with the original funny girl. It would make my Rachel’s dreams come true.

2.  Zac Efron. Let’s bring Zac back to his roots, huh? I mean, this was the man that made dancing through the halls and singing a normal, everyday activity. Let’s play some homage to the man that musicals cool again, huh, Glee? (Sidenote: somehow making his cameo into a shirtless/wet one wouldn’t be so bad either. Just Sayin’…..)

1. Tina Fey. If anyone can hold their own against Jane Lynch’s comedic timing it’s this lady right here. Can’t you just see her as Will’s one night stand turned obsessive stalker? I can see her already, dressing in sweater vests and pulling hairs out of Mr. Schuester’s head. Plus, her stalking Will gives us the perfect excuse for another shirtless Schue scene.

Who do you want to see on Glee? And what performance blew you away this season?

Everyone’s favorite musical TV show has covered a lot of great artists. From Lady Gaga to Britney to Cee Lo, Glee is no stranger to putting their own unique spin on popular songs. But what exactly makes a song popular and where does one draw the line? Does a YouTube sensation with more than 100 million hits on her video constitute a singer worthy of a Glee cover?

Apparently the writers think so. Because according to PopEater Glee will, I repeat, they will, be covering the one, the only Rebecca Black’s Friday.

Personally I don’t know what to think about this latest development. TV doesn’t always have the quickest turn around so part of me wonders if any of us will even remember who Rebecca Black is when the episode airs. And the fact that the Glee producers think she’ll be around long enough that we actually might? That’s a little bit scary. Does Glee covering this girl give her staying power? Will she be around for a while, or is Friday just another so bad it’s hilarious viral video that we’ll all forget about in a few weeks? I thought I knew the answer to that question but now I’m not so sure. (I’m also not so sure I want to know the answer anymore.)

So…Miley Cyrus doesn’t like Rebecca Black. Not even a little bit. And here’s why.

But I have to wonder. I mean, isn’t that a little bit like the pot calling the kettle…well, Black? They’re both teen pop stars (or soon to be pop stars). They both appeal to a younger audience. They’re both relatively annoying super cool. But yet Miley doesn’t like the girl that has been trending on Twitter for weeks. And you want to know why?

Because it was too easy for her to get famous. Miley doesn’t think someone should be able to put up a video on YouTube and then end up with a hit single and a tour. Um, hello Miley, have you not met Justin Bieber? That’s exactly how he was discovered/got a 3D IMAX movie. So why are you singling out the newest teen queen? Why should it matter how Rebecca Black made it big?

I’m not exactly a Rebecca Black fan myself, but a lot of people are. And a lot of people actually like the song. There has to be a reason it’s selling so well on iTunes, right? So what if that all started with some YouTube hits? We don’t all have has-been country stars for dads who can get us a starring role on a Disney show. For whatever the reason (I’ll never figure that one out) Friday is a hit. Let little Miss Rebecca Black enjoy it while it lasts, Miley. Don’t complain about the how and the why just because you’re afraid the newest thirteen-year-old child star tweets and you don’t is going to steal your thunder. Rebecca Black is famous because of a YouTube video.

Deal with it.

And, BTW, if you’re really worried, you’re 18, which means you’re plenty old enough to make a new kinda YouTube video to get you back in the spotlight, if you know what I’m sayin’….

Today is Good Friday and it is a Good Friday indeed. The sun is shining, the temperature is rising, and I’ve got a whole lot of Real Housewives and The Soup on my DVR just begging to be watched. In honor of the holiday (and the fact that the sun is putting me in a fantabulous mood!), I thought I’d have the CollegeCandy writers share what makes a Good Friday for them.

Personally, I haven’t really had a Good Friday since I was on the 4-day class schedule in college, but I guess knowing I won’t have to wake up at 6am tomorrow is as good as it’s gonna get out here in the real world. And that’s good enough for me.

What makes a Good Friday for you?

Rachael – University of Miami: My good Friday would probably be one in which I spend most of the day just relaxing and catching up with my student-professor discussion group and some friends I don’t see during the school week, followed by my dance class and either going out dancing from there or heading in for a low-key game night with my closest friends.

Brittany – University of Saint Thomas: First things first, my ideal good Friday begins waking up next to the Thursday night cutie and progresses into discussing recent evening shenanigans with the roomies.  Then accompanied by a venti Starbucks bev I will dissect the entire contents of Target. Good day.

Cristina – Michigan State: A good Friday to me is definitely knowing I did well on my math quiz and history quiz, looking and feeling great and going out to an amazing party that night (and flirting my face off).

Zahra – Northwestern University: A good Friday for me is a gorgeous sunny day, one class around noon so I’m forced to get up and actually enjoy the day, then going to the beach after class with my friends and planning our weekend.

Kelly – University of Iowa: A great Friday entails me being done with class at 1:30, going to the gym, FAC (Friday After Class bar specials) around 5, then heading to my place of employment where they let me drink for next to nothing. And ending the night sharing Marco’s Grilled Cheese with my boyfriend.

Emmy – Loyola University Chicago: My good Friday is when I can sleep in, go for a run in beautiful weather along the lake, eat chocolate chip waffles for breakfast, go with my best friends shopping and to lunch downtown, and have a picnic and bonfire party on the beach afterwards!

Lauren – University of Michigan: A good Friday includes at least 4 hours of TV/magazines/online shopping, followed by dinner with the roomies and Long Island Ice Teas on the patio at Good Time Charley’s. (Because they’re good and it’s the closest bar to my house.)

Carly – Grinnell: A really good Friday would involve chocolate cake and/or chocolate-chip cookies and a beautiful, sunny day. I’m pretty easy to please.

Katie – Michigan State University: If I don’t have anything to do on Saturday, then any Friday is a good Friday.

Elise – Stanford: My good friday includes lots of sunshine, no homework or looming deadlines, and all my friends having a night out.

Hannah- Assumption College: My really good Friday is canceled classes, the sun shining, plans to go shopping and a coffee in my hand.

Charlsie – Hollins University: I always have a good Friday because I never have Friday classes!

Julia – UC Berkeley: Hungover brunch, tanning on the sundeck, squeezing in a workout, and then going out and doing it all over again.

Alex – Lakehead University: A really good Friday = NO HOMEWORK. Sleeping in, maybe a good movie and some snuggling? I’m not too picky!

Jessica – Hofstra: My perfect Friday night is getting home early, putting on sweatpants, opening a bottle of wine with my friends, and watching Modern Family reruns.

Norah – Drake University: My good Friday is when I can spend the evening eating junk food and watching hours of “Say Yes to the Dress” with my friends.

Sara C – Fordham: A good Friday for me includes a nice, sweaty run to shake out the stress from the work week, followed by anything involving dinner and mojitos. And a hot shower, obviously.

Christie – NC State University: A good Friday for me would be if all my classes were canceled, I get to lay out, go out to eat, and just cuddle with my boyfriend for the rest of the night.

Kendra – University of Pittsburg: A good Friday for me is coming home after class and doing a 30 minute cleaning frenzy – wash dishes, make the bed, fold laundry, vacuum – before watching Oprah and taking a nap. It’s SO relieving for me to be able to clean up the mess I didn’t have time to take care of during the week!

Leah – Ryerson University: A relaxing day followed by a night at Dance Cave in Toronto.

Most ridiculously of all, Vh1 is trying to convince us that Miley Cyrus is a diva. Come on, guys! Divas don’t sing songs with titles like “Party in the USA” or have a close, personal relationship with Mickey Mouse. No offense, Miley.

There are a few bright spots on the horizon, though. As always, Fashion Week provided us with some grade-A escapism. Whether you’re knocking boots with a special someone or saving up your v-card, we had you covered. (One piece of advice for all the virgins out there—when you do decide to lose it, head over to Washington, D.C. You’re welcome.)

Best of all? If you can prove how much you love College Candy, you might just win a snazzy new laptop. Seriously!

So cheer up, everybody. It’s Friday! Throw on a pair of camouflaged sweat pants, breathe a sigh of relief, and go out and make some bad decisions this weekend. It’s all uphill from here.

Today is Good Friday.

I’m not sure what makes it more good than any other Friday (which are always good in my book), but that is what the calendar says, so I’m goin’ with it. In honor of the goodness of today, I decided to make this Friday extra special and do everything to make sure it was good: I ate a donut for breakfast (good), I put real cream instead of skim milk in my coffee (good), I never got out of my PJs (good), and I’m hoping to watch the entire first season of The Hills on DVD (very good).

Brithny – Duke: After not seeing my family for half a year (thanks, Duke) a Good Friday for me would be everyone in my family sitting down to a yummy homemade dinner and then afterwards drinking tea by the fireplace and telling (sometimes embarrassing) family stories.

Charlsie – Hollins: My ideal Friday would be to somehow manage to have the best of both worlds collide — hanging out with my best friends and my boyfriend, over food and drinks, and not have it be awkward. That would be the ultimate Friday for me!

Carly – Grinnell: Definitely a Friday with no work is a good Friday in my book.

Kayla – California State University, Sacramento: When I get all my homework and studying done after my last class of the week. Then I know I have nothing to worry about all weekend.

Lauren – University of Michigan: Thai carryout, a bottle of 2 Buck Chuck and a DVD. Actually, that’s a great Friday.

Cristina – Michigan State University: A Good Friday in my book would be canceled classes, so therefore sleeping in.  Then my friends would surprise me and show up for the weekend, and we’d go to a party with great music.  You know, the simple things in life.

Elizabeth – UC Berkeley: Laying in the sun with my friends, drinking yummy beer (not Keystone…for once).

Thu – USC: “Forgetting” that you have a five-page essay due on Monday until Sunday night, and then getting a decent grade on it. Sweet.

Sarabeth – University of Texas: A good Friday involves at minimum 2 of the following: booze, friends, sleep.

Amanda – Reed College: To sit on my ass for eight hours first and later go out and drink until I pass out. Oh, would that be lovely.

Noa – CU Boulder: Not getting out of bed. For anything.

Maddie – Tufts: No classes. I didn’t have free Fridays until first semester of junior year, and now I cherish them. Oh, and dollar specials at my bagel place…

Alex- Lakehead University: One where I don’t end up mad at my drunk friends and can dance the night away without getting drinks spilled on me.

I wouldn’t be the movie buff that I am without saying my pick of the week, and sorry to tell you, it’s not Nick and Nora’s Infinite Playlist, even though I am looking forward to seeing it. My pick is Blindness. This movie is so close to real life it’s scary, and it doesn’t hurt that Dr. Christina Yang from Grey’s Anatomy is in it.

So there you have it, the new releases for this week!  Now go grab your significant other, the one you’re hooking up with, or your best friends, and enjoy a movie tonight.

But guess what? You didn’t need help! You hadn’t fallen! You were just crazy! And because I looked back, you decided to take your special brand of insane and run up to my ear and scream “F*CK” again as loud as humanly possible. I mean, I have never heard someone yell that loud before – in my ear no less! I thought I was going to have a heart attack and go deaf!

So special shout out to you, Crazy Insane F*ck Shouting guy! You really made my morning, and even made me spill my Dunkin Donuts coffee all over my leg in sheer terrified surprise. LOVE!

7 a.m.: Wake up. Still drunk from the bar last night? Mayyyybe.

9 a.m.: Arrive at the football stadium; crack your first beer.

9 a.m.-Noon: Tailgate your face off. Tailgating activities may or may not include: Beer pong, funneling, shotgunning, and general raging.

Noon: Kickoff. You’re highly buzzed, but still careful not to spill your overpriced stadium beer as you shake your foam finger at the other team.

7 p.m.: You pass out. Hey, it was a long day, man.

Now that’s what I call a waste of a Saturday night. I know that rallying for almost 12 hours straight can take its toll. Especially when you’re running on a few hours of sleep after a killer Friday night. But if you pace yourself, and plan your evening effectively, there’s no reason that you can’t take in both the football game and a killer kegger (or two).

1. Don’t Chug, Chill.

Get too drunk too quickly, and you’re likely to pass out before halftime, let alone make it till midnight. Tailgating festivities often require heavy drinking, so if you find yourself partaking in a shotgun contest, follow the beer with a water. Spreading out your alcohol intake will allow you to last longer. Afterall, following a tailgate with a party is like a party marathon. And don’t they tell marathon runners to pace themselves so they can make it to the finish line? Oh, the things college kids could learn from athletes.

2. Counteract with Caffeine.

Pound a Redbull on the way to the game, or start your bar night with a vodka and Redbull. Still chilly in your student section hoodie? Bring a thermos of coffee to the tailgate…then spike it with Bailey’s. Yum! Even if you’re really tired, however, monitor your caffeine intake. One or two cups of coffee or one energy drink should get you through the day.

3. Keep the Adrenaline Pumping.

If the excitement level declines, you’re energy is bound to follow suit. Your adrenaline is rushing as you cheer on your football team, and then you lose momentum in the downtime between the game and the party. Arrange a rowdy post-game dinner of wings and pizza with your fellow tailgaters, so you can recount all the great plays. It’ll keep you pumped, and you won’t even realize how much time has passed between your first beer and your last shot. Then, when you get to the party, keep yourself going by chatting up a hottie or signing up to be on the first beer pong team.

4. Steam Up Your Second Wind.

You’ve been up for hours, hanging out in the cold (and possibly rainy) weather. Beer is seeping out your pours. Take a long, hot, steamy shower. The hot water will wake you up and make you feel clean and ready to go again. Besides, staying fresh and clean might also help stave off the germs that’ll take their toll in flu form come Monday. AND you can always chug a beer in between shampooing and conditioning.

5. Powernap…Before it’s Too Late.

Positive you’re not going to make it? Throw in the towel early, and salvage the rest of your night. Taking a nap at 5 or 6 leaves plenty of time to sober up, recharge, and get ready to rage. If you keep drinking and try to make it to the post-party kickoff, you might crash at 9 or 10, only to sleep through the night and kick yourself in the a.m.
