Every week I make a list. Not a grocery list or a to-do list…or that list, because I don’t really do groceries (there is a reason why they deliver pizza), to-do lists are totally not my scene (if such a scene even exists) and, unfortunately, I haven’t added to that list in quite awhile. My lists are more vital to your everyday lives, like the best party themes and ten things that are really annoying.

And this week, this list focuses on my favorite subject: boys.

Whenever you’re out at a party, bar or club, you always seem to spot that hottie. “The rules” tell us that we’re not supposed to go after that cutie in the button down and that they should come crawling to us with a bouquet of flowers and a box of chocolates. Hello? It’s 2010. The flowers are jagerbombs and the box of chocolates are a flock of bro-dudes that are c-blocking you from your boy of choice. Here’s 10 ways to snag that cutie and get more than some digits.

10. Use the cheesiest pick-up line known to mankind
“Do you have a mirror in your pants? Cause I totally see myself in them?”

9. Buy HIM a drink
Easy enough. Easier if it’s shots of tequila.

8. Start talking to his friends
The best way to get in with the cutie? Start chatting up his friends first!

7. Send him a filthy text message
Already got his digits? Get right to the point and come on strong with a hardcore flirty text message. You might be surprised what your bold attitude can do.

6. Compliment Him
You’d be surprise how something as simple as “I really love those shoes” might just work. Hey, guys spend time on picking out their “going-out” gear too!

5. Get a Little Physical
Like Olivia Newtown John said, get physical. Find any reason to touch him, it’ll show him that you’re interested and get him going.

4. Wear something that makes you feel sexy
He’ll be impressed by your self-confidence and how you look like a knock-out in that LBD.

3. Of course, welcome a drink from him
Make sure he knows you like your dirty martinis extra, extra dirty. [Wink]

2. Be Observant
Is he wearing a Red Sox hat? Yankees jersey? Band tee shirt? Pick up on what his interests are and bring it up right away. Even if you have to use your phone to do a little research on who plays for the Rangers.

1. Get him going with a game
Start playing a little truth or dare in the bar. Nothing opens possibilities and gets to the point like the old school games. Not to mention, with brand new technology you can get down and dirty then and there at the bar with hot iPhone games to heat things up like Vegas Spin the Bottle.

Gettin’ it on with someone you care about has all the ingredients that make for great sex – it means more than just getting off, you trust each other, you know what your partner likes and, most importantly, you can have fun without being self-conscious. But all this great sex sometimes comes with a downside: no one wants to admit it, but over time we get a little bored doin’ it with the same person over and over. That being said, even when you’re perfectly happy with what you’ve got goin’ on, sometimes it’s just fun to try new things! In my experience, the key to a great sex life is some good old-fashioned adventure. The make-out, go down, have sex routine is nice occasionally, but the truth is that it does get old eventually. With truths ranging from masturbatory fantasies to streaking, and dares like “Pretend I’m a stranger. Walk by and cop a feel as subtly as possible,” this game is pretty much guaranteed to end in some sexy fun.

Vibrating rings are available not only at sex shops, but also at drugstores through brands like Trojan and Durex. They can be lots of fun, and the perfect ingredient to add to your otherwise-awesome sex. It’s worn around the penis during sex (or you could just hold it for those without a penis in their relationship) and it hits just the right spot while he thrusts away. The packages claim that the vibrations last about 20 minutes, but they’ve been known to last a lot longer than that. Coming in at under $20, they’re also a fairly affordable way to have some fun. Added bonus: the tightness of the ring will cause your partner’s penis to stay harder longer… and really, who wouldn’t want that?

Even if BDSM isn’t quite your thing, experimenting with blindfolds, handcuffs, bondage tape, paddles, or, for those who are a little more adventurous, ball gags, can be a good way to explore your kinky side. Be sure to use these with someone you trust, and develop some boundaries before you agree to be tied up, flogged, or gagged!

Not for the faint of heart, a sex swing, sling, or door harness could be for you. I’m not exactly sure how much flexibility is needed for one of these, but I know they look like a hell of a lot of fun!

I understand we’re all poor college kids here, but I know if I ever had the time or a couple thousand dollars to spare, I’d be trying out one of these. It’s specifically designed for tantra, but with those curves, you can just imagine the cool positions you could try out. And the bonus with the tantra chair is that it doubles as a beautiful piece of furniture. How cool is that? On the cheaper end of the spectrum, you can buy a love bumper or a lounge. But really, getting creative with a few pillows can produce more or less the same results.

With a little creativity and an open mind and there is no reason to let your sex life get boring. Just think of all the sexy possibilities!

And to retailers it’s the season to lower prices on TVs.

Yes, this is the season to buy a new TV.  As this is one of the largest viewing events of the year, the prices of TVs are being slashed to make purchasing that new set as easy as possible for that avid football nut. I mean, it’s far easier to convince your wife/girlfriend/sig other that it’s a good buy when it’s $500 off (after mail in rebates).

But even if you’re not really into the game, now would still be a good time to upgrade from that old tube set. Flat screen TVs are easier to fit into small spaces, provide a much better picture and are just so pretty. Below are some pretty fantastic deals happening now.

Walmart has a good deal on a 19” set. It’s not the biggest, but it’s perfect for small dorms/apartments. Or just your bedroom. You won’t be gathered around it playing Wii, but you can at least cuddle with your honey and watch a movie.

Best Buy has a few deals on 26” sets. Not a huge scree, but big enough for you and your buds to play some Gear of War 2. Depending on how much you want to spend you have a few options with this size.

I found Kmart to be a place to get a good 32”. They didn’t have many to choose from, but the ones they did have were of good quality.

Remember, it’s ok to go off brand with a TV sometimes. You may be able to get a better deal and the same quality. Try and go to the store and look at a few just to judge picture quality, actual size, etc . . . Even if you get it from somewhere else you’ll still benefit from having a look first. Or go online to a site like CNet and get reader reviews (read: people with more TV experience than you) on the sets you like.

Oh, and don’t buy a huge TV just because it’s a good deal. You will spend a ton more than you planned and it may not even work in your space.

I wouldn’t put myself on player status, because that’s not what it’s about. No one actually gets ahead by playing games. Games are childish. People do actually get ahead by meeting new people, and being able to go for what they want.

Like that guy. The incredibly sexy one across the room. Dark hair falling in his very green eyes. And a crowd around him that’s ten chicks deep.

The Strategy? Don’t pay him too much attention.

It works every time; if he really is that hot, he knows it. And if he didn’t know it, the girls throwing themselves at him will have been a good wakeup call. So why not switch The Game up on him? You’re cute. You’re fun. And you are the one chick he can’t just wrap around his finger. Or at least you’re pretending like you are.

I’m not talking about your middle school cold-shoulder tactics. The point is simply not to let this guy know that inside you’re going googly-eyed. Usually, one firm, flirty look is all you need. Then continue with your evening. Laugh with your girlfriends. Look stupid on the dance floor. Do whatever it is that you would normally do if dreamboat weren’t standing over there in the corner.

About halfway through the night, you might want to give dreamboat a reminder that you’re still there and pointedly walk past him, and then maybe go order a drink by yourself, so that he doesn’t have to awkwardly say something to you in front of all your drooling girlfriends.

If you get introduced to him (or even if you don’t), turn on the inner charm full blast. Look at him straight in the eyes. I mean, really in the eyes. And smile in a warm and inviting, but not overly seductive way. Sounds technical, I know. You can practice in the mirror.

If you get to the point (or muster up the courage) where you decide you want to say something to him, it’s best to think of something conversational to start with. Small talk. Chit chat. Compliment his shirt, or his shoes (in a manly way), or talk about the party you’re at: “How did you hear about this place?” Or you could just do it the old fashioned way and introduce yourself.

The real trick is just to be yourself; it’s not anything new. Smile, look approachable, relax. Have fun with your friends. That old saying, “Nothing is sexier than confidence,” got its proverbial status for a reason. Put on your cutest clothes – not that super-low neckline that makes you worry about your boobs popping out all night – but those jeans that hug your booty just right, those earrings that accent your cheekbones. Play up those things that you love about yourself. Remind yourself that you are beautiful and amazing before you go out the door. And then later on, if you can’t bring yourself to actually say anything to him, at least you will be holding the gaze of every man in the room.

In my experience, the cliché moves like leaving your phone number on a napkin, or slipping it into his pocket on the way out the door don’t actually work, and usually leave you feeling like an embarrassed, giddy schoolgirl. Not to mention that I can never go back to the restaurant again if that cute waiter doesn’t call.

Now, this is not a guaranteed guide, so don’t sue me if it doesn’t work. But I’ve seen a fair amount of success (if you know what I’m sayin’), and my findings have been corroborated by my fellow girls, as well as my guy friends.

Even though this report comes to us from across the pond, I can totally see those numbers making sense in America as well. Why do women wait longer to reply to texts or missed calls from their crush?

Because we don’t want to seem clingy and desperate.

Society has done a number on us when it comes to our supposed frantic need for a man in our lives. The worst kind of women, magazines and TV shows and movies explain, is the desperate woman.

The girl who’s too eager to fall in love. The chick who’s all too happy to adhere herself to her new man and never let go. The woman who cluthes her cell phone to her chest, checking it every couple of seconds to see if her guy has called, ready to fill his screen with smiley faces and exclamation points.

Therefore, we have this equation:

Replying too fast to a call or text = desperate, desperate = bad, so replying too quickly to even the friendliest of texts?

You got it. Bad.

I’m not sure if guys feel this kind of weird pressure, but for my entire dating life (when I wasn’t with someone long-term) I’ve always struggled with myself when it came to texting or calling someone back.

Part me of says waiting an extended amount of time to reply is artificial and lame, and if I really like someone, I should let them know by replying whenever I feel like it. Another part of me is still nervous about being perceived as desperate and weak, and can’t shake the feeling that a quick response will cause my crush to think I’m an idiot.

So what do I usually end up doing?

Waiting that extra 19 minutes. Just to be safe.
