But more than summer dresses, sandals and sun tans, with summer comes great opportunities for more bonding time, and more creative bonding time, with the BF.

Looking for something new to do with the boyf?  Here you are my favorite summer time date ideas!

1. Kayaking – I love, love, LOVE kayaking. I love being in the water, but have never been a really strong swimmer so this works out really well for me. You can even take the cuteness up a level and go canoeing. He can row while you read poetry from under your parasol. (Sorry, this is what I think of when I hear of a couple in a canoe). But kayaking really is a cheap activity that’s way more fun to do with a partner than alone.

2. Bike rides – I’m particularly excited about this one because Matt and I just bought bikes and went for our first bike ride last night! You can ride to yogurt shops or snow cone stands or whatever you want for a treat, then pedal your way back home. Or go on a fun adventure off the beaten path (literally).

3. Movies – For those who can’t stand the summer heat, you can always retreat to the dark (aka, good make out lighting) and air conditioned movie theaters. Or even better, hop in the car and head to a drive-in. While “dinner and a movie” may not be so original, it sure as heck will be entertaining with all of the summer movies that come out every year. I know I can’t wait to go see Iron Man 2.

4. Frisbee Golf – This may just be a whole Austin liberal thing, but this place is littered with frisbee-golfers. There is good reason for this, however, because frisbee golf is so much fun! It’s as laid back as regular golf, but it isn’t as mind numbingly boring. If your boyfriend is a regular golf fan, talk him into going to a frisbee golf course, that way you both can have fun.

5. Firefly catching - When I was little, I used to live in Illinois where fireflies were everywhere at dusk during the summer. But then I moved to west Texas where fireflies don’t exist. You have no idea how excited I was when I learned that there are lightening bugs in Austin. Seriously people, get your boyfriend, get a jar, and get to catching! It’s such a fun activity and it will totally make you feel like a kid.

6. Wave Pool - Once you get over the long lines (littered with small children), wave pools/water parks are the perfect summer date. You can grab a tube and lounge in the lazy river, dunk each other in the wave pool, or race each other to the bottom of the water slides. Plus, there’s the whole “rubbing sunscreen on one another” factor, which is always fun.

I’ve always wanted to play a full 18 holes of golf, but my golfing experience ends at mini-golf at Family Fun Center (which I domintiated, by the way). Even though I’ve always wanted to play, I’ve never found it terribly enticing to sit and watch a whole round of golf. Quite frankly, it’s bo-to-the-ring. I once went to a boyfriend’s golf match and I was more entertained by the golf carts and those weird little knickers everyone was wearing than by the slow moving game he was apparently losing.

With the PGA Championship going on, I’ve truly been trying to take interest in the sport, but before I know it, I’m watching reruns of One Tree Hill on Soap Net and I have no idea how or when it happened. I can’t help it, I’m smitten for Chad Michael Murray.

This got me thinking…maybe if Chad-y poo was the one golfing, I might take a little more interest. I know, I know; this makes me sound like a boy-crazed-girly-girl, but humor me here. How great would it be to see some of these guys pulling their clubs out and polishing their balls (pun entirely intended).

What would make golf better? How about a little hair and some Careless Whisper?

Some of my favorite weekends and least regrettable hangovers are courtesy of long nights spent playing traveling drinking games. Forget laid back games involving ping pong balls or a deck of cards – I’m talking about mobile, interactive drinking games that get you drunk quick and keep you there all night.

Plus you’ll have some fantastic photos of your sloppy buddies in novelty costumes…for better or worse.

My two favorites are Le Tour De Franzia and Liquid Golf. Here the rules:

If you look online, the Tour has a few variations. Here’s how we do it where I come from:

1. Assemble two or three teams of 10-12 people each. Prior to the event, give each team a color or tell everyone to come in cycling/fitness clothes. Helmets are encouraged (and may very well be necessary by the end of the night).

2. When the whistle blows, each team starts drinking a box of the best boxed wine around: Franzia. You can keep things tame, or get rid of the box for increased excitement. “Slapping the bag,” is half the fun of drinking boxed wine. Heaven knows it doesn’t taste very good.

3. Now in some variations of the game, the first team to finish the box wins…but what’s the fun in that? It’s a Tour right? When I’ve played, the first team to finish can run/skip/leapfrog/crab walk/etc. to another house to drink another box. If you don’t have another person willing or able to host, each team can travel around the block and come back inside. The traveling is the best part (it provides endless opportunities for hilarious photos) so don’t leave this part out!

4.The team who finishes the second box first earns the yellow jersey…err wins. You can make the event more official and fun by incorporating a Jock Jams CD, some fun fake medals (think Office Olympics), and posters of Lance Armstrong.

Liquid Golf is also tons of fun. Here’s the breakdown:

1. Liquid Golf involves a bit of set-up. You’ll need a headcount of who’s playing, people to host/bars to go to, and you’ll need to make a score sheet. You can find a few of those online. You’ll also need a little bit of knowledge in golf scoring. Encourage everyone attending to dress in golf apparel. The end results of this are very funny as some people show up looking like extras from The Legend of Bagger Vance, while others wear actual Nike Golf polos. Either way, hilarity ensues. 2. Once you know who’s playing, pair people up. I like to keep the teams co-ed, or at least combine strong drinkers with weak ones.

3. The game works like this: Each pair is required to take down the drink/s listed at each house or bar. The drinking responsibility doesn’t have to be even, meaning one person can drink the entire hole if they so choose, but they probably wouldn’t be able to keep up the pace for long. If the drink/drinks are consumed within the pre-approved time-limit, the team makes par. The team that finishes first gets to subtract two points. The team that finishes last or any team that doesn’t consume their drinks in the pre-approved time-limit has to add two points to the par.

4. When the time limit is up, teams travel to the next house or bar for a new hole. Game play continues until all the holes are completed (a true rarity) or if they’re the last team to throw-up (much more likely).

Here are our holes from the last time we played: Four beers, two vodka lemonades, a bottle of champagne, three Tequila shots, two screwdrivers and two vodka gimlets. No, this is not 18 holes. Yes, that is still ok; even the strongest teams were brought down after the tequila shots. I don’t even think we made it to the house serving gimlets. 18 holes would have killed someone.

Be advised that neither of these games is for the faint of heart, literally and figuratively. If you’re hosting, encourage challenge by choice, and serve water and a few snacks. If you’re concerned about safety, you can also make the teams larger, as the events are still fun and everyone consumes less booze. It’s also a good idea to have a Sober Referee. Not only does he or she keep things fair, but they can help people navigating streets and let people know when it’s time to call it a night.

I mean, in America, the stereotypical retiree will move down to Florida to spend their time lounging by the pool in a gated community or playing a few holes on the golf course. Lame. In Japan, adult films for senior citizens, aka “elderly porn” is growing into quite the profitable franchise, according to porn producing giant Ruby Productions.

While America’s economy is declining, many entertainment venues (including golf courses) are taking a hit. In Japan, at least one retiree is cashing in on the entertainment biz. Shigeo Tokuda, 73, is the Ron Jeremy of elderly porn.

CNN correspondent Kyung Lah describes Tokuda as “the star of his movies in every way, romancing his co-stars, no matter their age, no matter their needs.” And apparently, his films are no-holds-barred, much like anything Jenna Jameson has appeared in.

This human interest story might come as a shock to American citizens, but as a nation, Japan is home to the world’s highest percentage of people over 65. Who says the greater populace can’t have a little fun? Tokuda isn’t some pervy old man, either. He’s been married for forty-four years, and his wife supports his new career path. Lah reports that he’s a polite and humble man, and though it’s not easy to watch Tokuda’s raunchy scenes, “it’s a little like watching your grandfather in a situation you never dared to dream.” Aww, that’s sweet. Or creepy.

In any case, Tokuda can be considered a retirement legend. I’m sure there’s plenty of guys half- or one-third his age who would love to achieve such celebrity status. And if he can chase his dreams at 73, I can’t wait for my own retirement.

Last time, Heather and the exes tore through the house and stupid Megan finally went home.

Morning: The final four + Heather and Destiney’s hat remain and they all depart for Vegas in a learjet. I forgot that they did the Vegas thing during the first cycle of this show. No shock that they are staying at the Hard Rock. Good thing that everyone’s over 21.

Daisy’s neck tattoos are super prominent today. The girls suite has a table full of presents – what, no stripper pole?

Bret-o-gram – Jessica and Destiney have to change into some golf outfits and meet Bret downstairs. What a boring date.

Heather decides that they need to 80s it up. Seriously? Oh, she’s not serious. Ha. Even she knows that the 80s are out. They look re-f*cking-diculous.

Heather, Daisy and Ambre do what they do best and get wasted. Daisy says that she’s hooked up with Bret like “500 times.” Have you had time to hook up 500 times?

Ambre’s only made out with him. Daisy and Heather talk alone – she says that she doesn’t feel like any of the other girls are competition. She asks Heather who she thinks isn’t right for Bret and Heather says, “I don’t think any of you are.”

Heather and all of her jewerly then talk to Ambre, who admits that of all the girls left,she’d be most worried about Daisy going out on a date with Bret. Daisy’s admitted to being in debt from her boob job! Ha! I love Heather’s advice of taking down Daisy ROCKS.

So evening golf – as I said, they look ridiculous. Destiney is NOT hot, but Bret loves her. No one needs to stretch before golf. Stop it, Destiney.

Jessica is good at golf and, no surprise, Destiney sucks.

Destiney gets annoyed that Jessica keeps doing well and kissing Bret, so Destiney bends over in her skirt to get Bret’s attention again. Good thinking.

So the boring golf date ends, which will be followe by a date with Ambre and Daisy. Daisy’s rude to Destiney when she returns and so Destiney decides that they were probably never friends…yeah. That mind never rests, does it, Destiney?

Ambre is nervous and she’s gonna throw Daisy and her debt carrying tits under the bus. Bret says that he chose AJ’s Steakhouse for dinner because “the girls need some meat.” Oh, shut up.

Bret wants to ask some ex-boyfriend questions because he feels like someone is lying. Bret asks Daisy about living with Charlie – he doesn’t have a job, she does. Daisy doesn’t understand how this issue is not settled. How about because t’s freaking weird and you can’t form coherent reasons for you two to still be living together?

Daisy says that she hasn’t gone out with another guy in two years. But you have one night stands, right? Oh, you dont? Bret doesn’t believe that she could go without sex for two years. And we are in agreement. Why are you crying? Bret’s not yelling at you.

“We’ve been through crazy ass sh*t.” That’s your explanation?

“Well why don’t you tell me what some of that crazy ass sh*t is.” Thank you, Bret.

Daisy says that she was pregnant, had an abortion, and he stayed with her to make sure that she was okay…so that’s heavy. I feel kinda sorry…

Ambre brings up the $ for supporting him, boobs, the apartment.

Shockingly, Daisy makes awesome money dancing. But yet – “I have tons of debt.”

Back in the room, Heather tells Jessica and Destiney that Daisy doesn’t see them as competition. Heather riles up Destiney – which doesn’t take much – are you throwing a tantrum on the pool table? Haaa!! Where did you get that pink cowboy hat? Poison’s 1989 tour? Was that C.C.’s?

Date ends and the girls are all together. Daisy tells them how she had to talk about Charles. Daisy, why is it hard for you to tell everyone about it – like this situation makes sense in any way to someone who is not you?

Did someone tell someone else to STFU?

So Ambre and Destiney are going to make Daisy cry. Don’t mess with Ambre. Jessica is wearing one of Destiney’s hats and just listening to the crazy.

Ohhhhh, Ambre goe OFF on Daisy and I love it. She’s right – oh, Daisy don’t roll your eyes at Heather. What – did she throw a drink in Daisy’s face? Wooooah. I looooove this! This is what I’ve wanted all season!!!

Big John comes in and they are going into Bret’s suite for drinks. He’s got a private black jack table and everyone is too somber to – sorry, I lost track of that thought once I saw that Destiney has rhinestones on her hat.

Daisy tells Destiney to STFU and you don’t tell that to a crazy B*tch. Here we go. I wouldn’t mess with that level of psychotic rhinestoned hat crazy.

Bret calls Big John over to deal with their bullsh*t. Don’t BS to my Big John’s face.

Stop screaming and crying, Daisy. They are weak for believing Heather? You’re life is retarded.

Oh, Bret comes out pissed. He wants to talk to Daisy alone and he’s done. The rest go back to their room.

Stop crying. Time for Daisy to spill it.

She cries on Bret and I can’t believe that he’s falling for the tears. And Daisy reenters the snake pit. But Ambre’s done so I guess it’s bed time.

Next day – Destiney looks better without all of that make up. She looks good first thing in the morning – seriously. She’s worried about pissing off Bret last night. You should be, crazy.

Heather goes into see Bret to talk about the girls. Bret’s concerned about how aggressive Destiney is, he tells Heather that it’s too hard with Heather around to get to really know them from this point. So she’s leaving. What? I don’t think so.

She’s going to get a pass tonight, you watch.

Bret calls in Jessica – his doubt about her is that she’d get hurt in Bret’s world. What? Your world is cowboy hats, beer and tits. She’s actually there for YOU. Deal with it, Bret.

Daisy meets Bret and he doesn’t feel like he knows her whole story. SPILL IT, Daisy. A couple of years ago, Daisy had befriend C.C. – he was calling her? Befriended??? In what way? No physical relationship??? You lie. She’s totally a groupie. That’s no more to her than that. Daisy, what could you have done in your life that Bret Michaels would reject you over? He’s slept with 4389071895 women. Unless you’ve been with 4389071896 guys, I think that you’re fine.

They are going to Body English for eliminations. Was the suite not good enough?

Destiney drops the stupid hat for a fake flower in her hair. Better.

Daisy don’t talk and cry; you cannot do both and blink all at the same time.

He calls Daisy – and are you seriously keeping her? She is spasming – she looks even worse. I cannot believe that he did that. The sex must be amazing.

Ambre gets the second pass. Poor thing – she likes him so much.

Is this process that emotional that everyone needs to cry?

Down to Jessica and Destiney. He fears that Jessica’s young and innocent. Destiney has a quick temper – he fears that she’ll be crazy backstage and cause him to lose fans and deal with a lawsuit.

Don’t get rid of Jessica. Don’t.

Destiney is called down – I hate you, Bret. How could you do that to Jessica or to yourself? Jessica and Ambre were the only ones left who were there for you and NOT dancing and TV and bullshit.

Wow. Amber says, “It’s down to two rocker chicks and Ambre.” More like two groupies, but close enough.

I can’t believe that I’m wrong about Heather making a permanent return. Eh, I don’t count her out.

Next time: they are back at the house and the family comes to visit. And I bet Ambre’s going home next.

The perk of resort wear is that it’s classy and respectable until it reaches Frat Row. You can be adorable without dressing like a desperate-to-impress freshman, all it takes is a little dedication to the cause.

Collecting argyle sweaters and linen trousers can help you transition into a non-party persona for the workplace with no trouble. Here are some tips for dressing to the yuppie role without coming off as a complete douchebag:

1) Collars down. At all times. Ladies, if you’re going for the cleavage factor and rocking a Lacoste to the bar, pair it with pumps, ass-flattering denim, and go crazy. Unbutton as low as you dare, but find a cute contrasting cami to toss under that pique polo.

2) Set a limit to the number of pastels you go with. Your boyfriend can wear as much pink as he likes, and so can you, but just remember that the phrase “too much of a good thing” came about for a reason.

3) Pearls are lovely… in moderation. A pearl necklace is a great staple, and you can wear your own for composite pictures! Joking. Ish. Also, solitaire cultured pearl earrings are simple and classy. Wearing the set altogether may just be a touch overboard; pick one and go with it.

4) Be careful with prints. Madras needs a solid piece to balance it out. No tartan and argyle in the same ensemble. Mixing patterns is fine so long as one is bold and one is subtle.

5) Layering is key. Button-downs with cardigans or pullover sweaters are always great, and look adorable with a little denim skirt or pair of twill shorts when it’s a little warmer. Blazers and jackets are great to pair with a cute cami or silk going-out shirt, keeping you sophisticated enough to go to a nice wine or martini bar, and casual enough to go to a house party. It also gives you the option to adapt to whatever temperature you happen to encounter. And on that note…

5) Dress for the weather. Resort wear is geared toward a warm environment, but remember that you’re not likely to go yachting in mid-winter during the workweek. Seersucker generally is only allowed between Memorial and Labor Days. I don’t ordinarily follow the “white” rule, but this one I concur with. It just looks awkward unless you’re living in a fantastic climate.
