Harry Potter Photo Call for London Premiere

THIS IS IT! TODAY IS THE DAY! Well, sort of. Today is the day for Londoners, at least. Live coverage of the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II in London began streaming online today at 11am ET, and of course I’ve been clicking back and forth between here and there trying to catch a glimpse of the most wonderful wizards in the world.

But if you have to miss the live footage for some reason (which, if you ARE missing it, I highly suggest you do something about that), here are some photos of the cast from the photo call. The only bad thing about this photo set–Daniel Radcliffe is mysteriously MIA. What’s more important than your last HP photo call, Harry??

If You Like Harry Potter…You’ll Love These Books

Ever since the last Harry Potter book was published, the series has left a gaping hole in reader’s hearts. We’re all lost without the tales of Harry and company and the last movie is making us feel a little nostalgic. So what’s left to read? I’ve scrounged up some books that contain the same general themes as Harry Potter such as friendship, the supernatural, loyalty, adventure and so forth.

Disclaimer: Most of these books ARE children’s books. But so was Harry Potter, which you read and loved so give some of these other books a chance. I mean honestly there are only so many adult adventure books worth reading (or that I could find).

Potter Fans, set your DVR for July 11th at 8PM!

Remember back in 2001 when Warner Bros. started production on the Harry Potter and Sorcerer’s Stone? While some of the fans of the book series had very low expectations for the movies, the films ended up doing extremely well both financially and with the fans. 10 years later, the Potter films have become the most successful movie franchise ever and “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II” is easily the most anticipated movie of this year.

Two Sundays from now (July 11th), CNN will be broadcasting the “When Larry Met Harry” TV special: complete with in-depth interviews, never before seen footage, and a tour of the actual movie studio. the deathYeah, I can already see my Tumblr dashboard filling up with fan-made gifs and video tributes. This is going to be good.

On a completely unrelated note, am I the only one who thought Larry King was dead? I double-checked and he’s still alive, but he retired from TV awhile ago. Glad to see his return to the small screen, but come on- it would have been way more Potter-esque for a ghost Larry to appear on the show instead of the real one.

8 Obscure Harry Potter Movie Facts

The Harry Potter series (aka the best book/movie series that has ever existed, am I right??) is coming to a close this summer, and I couldn’t be more sad about it. I cried on the phone to my mom the day I finished reading the last book, and I have a feeling something like that may just happen all over again when I walk out of the theater after seeing the last installment of Harry’s saga.

If you feel the same way, never fear. Here at CollegeCandy, we love to find ways to keep your spirits up–even if it seems impossible in the face of such a tragedy as fresh HP material leaving our lives forever. To help ease the pain, we’ve hit the internet to find some of the most random facts about the Harry Potter movies.
