If you’re a bit calorie-conscious like me and won’t go near any form of full-fat, greasy potato chips, here’s a great alternative to satisfy those pesky salty/crunchy/carb-loaded cravings.
I can’t believe we’ve never talked about them before on CC. Because Popchips are off. the. chain!
I had heard a lot about Popchips, but was a bit skeptical the first time I brought them home. That lasted about 2 seconds.
When I opened the bag, I could smell the deliciousness of the BBQ-flavored chips just waiting for me to devour them. And so I did. And they were awesome, down to the last finger-licking crumb. I found them to be light and airy, kind of like popcorn, but a lot more flavorful and crispy.
The best part is that they’re completely guilt-free! Since they’re not fried in oil, but rather “popped” using heat and pressure (don’t worry, I don’t get it either) the chips have half the fat of a typical potato chip with no trans fat, no saturated fats, no cholesterol and no preservatives. How is it almost February?
Wasn’t it just yesterday that I was vowing to head back to the gym and stop eating crap? Oh yeah; that was yesterday. Not gonna happen with the Super Bowl coming, unless I stick to some healthier snack options. But we all know that’s not gonna happen.
The last week of January has been quite eventful. And stressful. Too bad we didn’t have any peanut butter to get us through the hard times. On the bright side, we did get a fun snow day to break up the monotony, and we came across this gem to help us out when we can’t get our asses to class.
But besides that – stress, stress, stress.
That trip to the gyno scared the crap out of us, that story about how poorly the university treats its students frustrated us, and everyone ripping on Jessica Simpson made our blood boil.
And don’t even get us started on our latest fears of the birth control pill. Not that we need to worry about that; we scared all the boys away a long time ago.
It’s all good, though; we have the puppy bowl to look forward to this weekend, and if that’s not enough to get us out of our funk, we can always watch Grey’s Anatomy season 1 on DVD. You know, before the show got so, so bad.

Never one to venture into the day without provisions, I’ve tried and tested a grocery cart of snacks. Really, everything from fruit leather to 100 calorie packs–I. love. to. snack.
Snacks are vital on those days that seem to never end. To help all of you get through those long, 3 class days, let me introduce the best snack I know of…a little something I invented on a whim, caught between Geology and yoga class.
It’s the Yogurt Oatmeal Smash!
What you need: 1 container of Light and Fit yogurt (flavor of choice) and 1 regular (plain) oatmeal packet.
What you do: All you gotta do is make the oatmeal like usual, and then swirl the yogurt around. It’s sweet, yummy, and (like your mom would say) sticks to those ribs!
Don’t forget the spoon–or you’ll be looking at your snack instead of devouring it.
Energy? Check. Filling? Check. Healthy? You know it.
