-Your cardio doesn’t have to be boring when you’re hoofing it under the sun. After a quick warm-up, try jogging backwards. Experts say it burns a fifth more calories and improves your balance by engaging your core. Afraid of looking silly? Don’t be.  All anyone will think would be, “Hey! She knows something I don’t!”

-Now, let’s build our endurance. Find some stairs and sprint from the bottom to the top without stopping or skipping steps. Walk back down and finish up with 4 more sets. Just like having a Stairmaster outdoors, this exercise will increase your heart and lung capacity while building killer legs for those adorable minis.

-How about you pull your forgotten roller blades out of the back of your closet and lace them up? While also a great cardio workout, rollerblading tones your inner and outer thighs along with your beautiful booty. To torch about 450 calories in 30 minutes, alternate one minute of tucked, speed skating with one minute of upright, relaxed skating. Be sure to wear your knee and elbow pads! I hear scrapes and bruises are out this season.

-Remember how much fun it was to jump rope with your girls on the playground? Pick up a cheap rope from Walmart and prepare for a cardio blast from your past! Jumping rope can burn up to 1,000 calories an hour while toning your upper and lower body. Since it’s a strenuous workout in itself, you’ll need to take frequent breaks to catch your breath. Skip rope for three minutes, then drop and do some push ups while your heart rate decreases a bit. Skip for three more minutes, then throw in some crunches. Keep alternating the rope with intervals of slower paced exercises. Aim for a 30 minute session. Can you feel the burn yet?

-Afraid of getting grass stains by doing your crunches outdoors? When you have a playground set available, there’s no need to be on the ground! To target your abs, quads and lower back simultaneously, head to the monkey bars for hanging leg lifts. Hold on to a bar with both hands while tightening your core muscles. Slowly lift your legs straight out in front of you, using your abdominals to maintain control. Slowly release and repeat with 3 sets of 10-12 reps. If it becomes too difficult, try one leg at a time or with knees bent.

Save some money and rev up your workouts by putting your gym membership on hold and taking advantage of the fresh air this season. With this beautiful weather and these fat blasting, muscle toning moves, you are well on your way to a sizzling summer bod.

Before he left, The Hoff made this prediction/menacing threat:

“He is going to steal the hearts of every American watching the show.”

That prophecy came to fruition during last night’s two-hour Vegas episode. The judges whittled the 113 acts down to 60, and on Thursday they’ll cut 20 more before the pool of contestants is set for the live episodes.

David upped his game and with two minor additions that made it impossible for the judges to send him packing; a little tuxedo, and an alliance with the youngest contestant in the competition, Kaitlyn Maher. Separate they are just two cute little kids, but put them together (holding hands no less!) and the viewing public is powerless. The two little ones beat out individuals three times their age (in their own age bracket no less) and both moved on to the semi-final round. But were we surprised? Voting them off would be like putting Milo & Otis to sleep.

So David is safe for another day. My guess is that his next performance will be a duet with a basket of yellow-lab puppies or newborn babies. Can he be stopped?

The reason this is noteworthy? Because women have a tendency to blame the chick their significant other had an affair with, rather than the significant other themselves. How many of you (and I’m sorry, by the way, if you understand what I’m talking about) have felt the burn of a cheater, only to turn around and have homicidal thoughts about the person the love of your life cheated on you with? I’ll cut that bitch, you think, while tearfully trying to figure out how to convince your cheating bf or spouse back into your life.

I’m sure there’s lot of scientific evidence as to why women usually hate on the O.W (Other Woman) more than their partner, but in my opinion, it all filters down to female competitiveness and self-loathing masked by rage. Like the gossip mags (mostly read by women) that spend pages ragging on celebrity cellulite and sagging stomaches, most of us find it easier to go after a target we don’t know, rather than A) a person we do know, or B) ourselves.

So, disregarding whatever mud she slings later on, I have to applaud Brinkley for placing blame where the blame is really meant to placed — her husband (and father of her three children) — rather than on the idiot girl who had nothing to lose by having sex with him. Was the 21-year-old O.W being selfish when she began an affair with a married man? Of course. But what matters most is that she was pursued by someone twenty years her senior, who not only knew better, but had other people in his life he was responsible for.

DeAnna took the remaining three fellas on a date to the Bahamas. If the boys couldn’t cut loose, enjoy themselves, and win her over in a tropical locale, then there was no hope for ‘em.Jeremy went first. Poor Jer. Stiff, unfunny, a hopeless romantic who’s almost too right for DeAnna. Their date was lackluster. The only thing I wrote down in my notes while I watched was: Grand Bahama Island (the name of the resort) and “Burgers for dinner?” If my mind wandered, DeAnna’s must have too.

My main man Jason turned everything around. He made DeAnna laugh, and insisted on not boring her with talk about his kid. They smiled, and unlike the other two dates, both of them seem like better, more fulfilled people when they’re together.

And then there’s the wild card: Jesse. Who knew he would last this long? The two of them rode horses on the beach. Then he finally put the humorous side away and asked DeAnna some tough questions about how their lives would merge should they get married. Kids, commuting to Colorado, the works. I admire the fact that he’s taking this so seriously, but whenever I see DeAnna and Jesse together I just see good friends. They’re the reality show equivalent of Duckie and Andie, and we know how that one ends.

So not surprisingly, Jeremy was given the boot tonight. He went from heartbroken, to angry, to a guilt-tripping jerk, to depressed and out of it in about 60 seconds of footage. The drama continued on tonight’s reunion episode when he still didn’t seem to understand why DeAnna didn’t choose him.

So we’ve got the finale next week. Here’s my final power ranking:

1. Jason – If he doesn’t walk away with the girl on his arm then I will eat my hat. Seriously. Cover it in ketchup.

2. Jesse – Fun guy, great heart, but just not right for this. Next year’s Bachelor? That could be fun.

This week, TLC aired the season finale of L.A. Ink, Kat Von D’s spin-off of the wildly popular Miami Ink. Just like it had all season, it was full of tons of talent, a little bit of drama, and some really, really amazing tattoos.

Ever since she hit our screens in Miami Ink, Kat’s been wowing us with her portrait work, and now that she’s enlisted her incredibly gifted friends to help her in her own shop, we’ve been treated to some of the best ink there is to offer.

First, Kat reunites with her friend Pixie (love her!) and lets her in on her plans to open her own shop. Then she meets up with Corey Miller who is one of her inspirations:

Something really endearing about L.A. Ink (and TLC in general) is it’s ability to show what seems like cheesy moments and morph them into something heart-wearming but not cringe-worthy. In this clip, a grandfather is memorialized and the family gets together to watch Corey play with his band!

It’s awesome to see in the world of body modification, woman tattoo artists are getting the proper platform it needs…if just to prove that the business doesn’t need to be dominated by the guys!
