			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><img class="aligncenter  wp-image-156800" title="shutterstock_82149085" src="http://collegecandy.files.wordpress.com/2012/04/shutterstock_82149085.jpg?w=600&h=337" alt="" width="600" height="337" /></p>
<p>Would you work out in a 105 degree room? How about 110? Hot workouts are all the rage in gyms across the country, especially in New York and Los Angeles, where some gyms are adding heat to just about every class.</p>
<p>You’ve probably heard of <a href="http://www.bikramyoga.com/">Bikram yoga</a>, or some of the other hot yoga styles that have been popping up over the past few decades. But now, you can take classes in Pilates, the Bar Method, cycling, martial arts and more &#8212; all while roasting in a room that’s 100 degrees or even hotter.</p>
<p>Devotees of these classes love them because they leave every workout dripping with sweat. They see quick weight loss results, and think that all the sweat is helping them detox. But are they really doing that much good? Or are these benefits outweighed by the possible risks of exercising in extreme heat?</p>
<p>Experts have <a href="www.yogapoint.com/info/article9.htm">debated the safety</a> of Bikram and other hot yoga styles for years. Bikram is practiced in a 105 degree room, with at least 40 percent humidity. First of all, doing intense exercise at temperatures that high puts you at risk for severe dehydration, or even <a href="http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/exercise/HQ00316">heat exhaustion and heat stroke</a>. In order to remain properly hydrated during a Bikram class, you would have to drink <a href="http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/exercise/HQ00316">4 ounces of water every 15 minutes</a>. However, hardly any students drink that much water during class. Most of the weight loss experienced by people who work out in the heat is just water weight. And that’s not the kind of weight you want to lose. It isn’t uncommon for students to faint during hot yoga classes – I don’t know about you, but that scares me.<span id="more-156461"></span></p>
<p>The other problem with exercising in extreme heat is that it makes it very easy for you to overstretch. The warmer your surroundings are, the more flexible the tissues in your body become. So, in some ways a warmer room can be good for your muscles. Heat allows you to stretch more fully and deeply. However, when the temperature is extreme, it becomes too easy to push your muscles too far. This is a serious problem, because your muscles work like levers. It’s good to be flexible, but the more you stretch, the more your muscles literally lengthen. When a muscle gets too long, it becomes weaker and less efficient.</p>
<p>Even more dangerous is the risk to your ligaments, the tissues that connect bones to other bones. Once ligaments are stretched, they don’t return back to their original shape. In normal temperatures, your ligaments would hardly stretch at all. But in the heat, they become more pliable. If you stretch out your ligaments, it can lead to weak, loose joints, which put you at a serious risk for injury.</p>
<p>There are some benefits to exercising in the heat. It’s true that hot workouts are more difficult, and make you work harder. Dr. Douglas Casa, a professor at the University of Connecticut and an expert on heat and athletics, told the <a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2012/03/29/fashion/working-out-in-intense-temperatures.html?pagewanted=1&amp;_r=1&amp;ref=health&amp;adxnnlx=1333046542-fYJCbZ/xoWPbHIPAhAjbIw">New York Times</a> that the benefits stop past 100 degrees. Any hotter than that, and you’re only increasing your risk for illness or injury, not getting a better workout. Dr. Casa also called the detox claim a “hoax,” saying that there are no proven benefits from sweating more.</p>
<p>I don’t do hot workouts. I hate feeling desperately overheated, so a hot workout class sounds like a nightmare to me. But I know lots of people who swear by Bikram yoga.</p>
<p><strong><em>What do YOU think? Are hot workouts worth the risks?</em></strong></p>

<p>Summer is the best time of year.  There are virtually no responsibilities (unless you&#8217;re stuck with classes or work), it&#8217;s always time for a margarita, the beach is calling your name and there are tons of hot, shirtless guys.  What&#8217;s not to love?  Oh yeah, the billion degree heat and the humidity!  While you can cool off with the beverage of your choosing, your makeup probably won&#8217;t last past noon if you&#8217;re out and about.<span id="more-108201"></span></p>
<p>I&#8217;m outside for at least six hours a day working summer lacrosse camps in the sweltering Atlanta heat, so trust me when I say that wearing makeup is not my first priority.  But it&#8217;s my job to test products and figure things out for you fine viewers.  This week I&#8217;ve tried a combination of things to make sure what I put on was lasting all day.  And if I do say so myself, I did a pretty good job.  Really the trick is a good primer and finishing powder.  And not caking your makeup on.</p>
<p>Watch below for my tips, and hopefully they&#8217;ll prevent you from looking like a hot mess (pun intended).</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>It&#8217;s summer, and it is HOT. And humid. And sticky.</p>
<p>For us ladies, having generally long hair is a pain in the summer months, especially those of us (not so) blessed with the curls. Step outside for just a moment and that coif goes from fresh to ginormously frizzy. You <em>could</em> pull it into a pony tail and hold down the front with an over-sized headband, but you don&#8217;t want to spend the summer looking like you just left the gym. If only there were a cuter alternative&#8230;</p>
<p style="text-align:center;"><script language="javascript" type="text/javascript" src="http://cdn.springboard.gorillanation.com/storage/js/swfobject.js"></script>
<script language="javascript">
function getVideo() {
var so = new SWFObject("http://cdn.springboard.gorillanation.com/storage/xplayer/yo033.swf", "mplayer", "420", "340", "8", "#000000");
so.addParam("wmode","transparent");
so.addParam("swliveconnect", "true");
so.addParam("allowscriptaccess", "always");
so.addParam("allowfullscreen", "true");
so.addVariable("pid", "cdmg001");
so.addVariable("siteId", "237");
so.addVariable("videoId", "54379");
so.addVariable("file", "http://cms.springboard.gorillanation.com/xml_feeds_advanced/index/237/3/54379/");
so.addVariable("pageUrl", document.location);
so.write("flashcontent_237_cdmg001_single_54379");
}
</script>
<div id="flashcontent_237_cdmg001_single_54379"></div>
<script language="javascript">getVideo();</script></p>
<p>There is, and in this video I&#8217;ll show you exactly how to do it so you can be frizz free, cool and still look hot. Best part? No washing required! I swear, it&#8217;s a gift from God.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><img class="alignright size-full wp-image-65822" title="tired_baby-4th" src="http://collegecandy.files.wordpress.com/2010/07/tired_baby-4th.jpg" alt="" width="338" height="338" />What the eff happened to summer and how are we already ending our second week of July? Just last week I was wearing my sombrero and making margaritas and now I&#8217;m ordering plane tickets to go back to school. Wasn&#8217;t it just yesterday I was joyously throwing all my used-up notebooks away and planning my summer reading list? Oh wait, no, that was 2 months ago!</p>
<p>I guess that whole &#8220;time flies when you&#8217;re having fun&#8221; thing really is true, because between the<a href="http://collegecandy.com/2010/07/06/confession-i-went-to-a-justin-bieber-concert/"> Justin Bieber concert </a>and the 4th of July, this week flew on by. Let&#8217;s reflect:</p>
<p>- Remember that little kid from Sixth Sense? Or the boys from Boy Meets World? What the hell happened to them? We get the low-down on the <a href="http://collegecandy.com/2010/07/07/where-are-they-now-cutie-patooties-of-the-90s/">cuties of the 90&#8242;s</a>. Newsflash: they&#8217;re not such cuties anymore.</p>
<p>- Are you a Diet Coke fanatic? <a href="http://collegecandy.com/2010/07/02/diet-coke-my-one-true-love/">We are.</a> Oh sweet nectar of the Gods.</p>
<p>- It seems like everyone has fallen in love with Bethenny Frankel from <em>The Real Housewives of New York City</em>. Yes, when we grow up, we all want to be <a href="http://collegecandy.com/2010/07/07/when-i-grow-up-i-want-to-be-bethenny-frankel/">Bethenny</a>.</p>
<p>- Should you get implants? <a href="http://collegecandy.com/2010/07/07/ask-a-dude-should-i-get-implants/">The Dude weighs in. </a></p>
<p>- Dating is tough, especially when you don&#8217;t want to come off as the clingy girl. So should you be channeling your <a href="http://collegecandy.com/2010/07/06/when-it-comes-to-dating-should-you-be-channeling-your-inner-g-i-joe/">inner G.I Joe?</a> Helmets on, ladies.<span id="more-66385"></span></p>
<p>- Trying to get by in the sweltering heat? CollegeCandy has the <a href="http://collegecandy.com/2010/07/06/hot-sweaty-try-these-dos-and-donts-for-beating-the-summer-heat/">Dos and Don&#8217;ts</a> for beating summer heat.</p>
<p>- When it comes to summer friends, there are <a href="http://collegecandy.com/2010/07/01/the-9-friends-you-avoid-at-all-costs/">9 you should avoid </a>at all costs, and <a href="http://collegecandy.com/2010/07/08/5-friends-everyone-needs-to-have-in-the-summer/">5 you NEED to keep around.</a></p>
<p>- Not sure if it&#8217;s time to take your friend home and put her to bed (with a bottle of water and a garbage can)? Here are <a href="http://collegecandy.com/2010/07/08/88-signs-its-time-to-leave-the-bar/">88 reasons </a>why you should. Warning: it ain&#8217;t pretty.</p>
<p>- Summer = bikinis. Bikinis = Diet. Learn how to get off that weight loss plateau and lose weight the <a href="http://collegecandy.com/2010/07/05/body-blog-why-weight-loss-hits-the-wayside/">healthy</a> way.</p>
<p>- The Boho looks back! Get <a href="http://collegecandy.com/2010/07/06/8-under-20-bohemian-fashionista/">8</a> tips on how to look chic and relax for just under $20.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p style="text-align:left;"><img class="alignright size-full wp-image-16961" title="college-frat-party.jpg" src="http://collegecandy.files.wordpress.com/2009/02/17/college-frat-party.jpg" alt="college-frat-party.jpg" width="250" height="300" />Ahh summer time. The heat is blistering, the Natty Lite is chilled and the pool beckons. For those of us not taking summer classes, these three months are a glorious break from homework, studying and fluorescent lighting. Yes, the whole summer yawns out blue skies and cut-offs until late August and it’s hard to imagine ever going back to school.</p>
<p>Except, I <em>do</em> imagine it. I catch myself worrying about non-existent assignments and responsibilities that won’t resume until September. But even more, I constantly find myself spacing out at work, reminiscing about all the <em>good </em>stuff that comes along with college. Mostly the whole not-bored-at-work-9-to-5 thing.</p>
<p>And I miss it!</p>
<p><strong>Meal Plans:</strong> While I’m lucky enough <em>not </em>to be taking classes this summer, I do have to work — which means I’m stuck in a college town all summer long without the benefit of visiting home, and therefore the benefit of home cookin’. My freshman year, I ate dining hall food. My sophomore year, my sorority dues included a meal plan. This summer, with my sorority house closed and the dining halls freshmen-infested, I’m armed only with my apartment’s kitchen and whatever the hell I find when I Google “easy, cheap, healthy recipes&#8221; and pudding. Do I enjoy learning to cook? Absolutely. Would I prefer a cook to prepare my meals? Uh, hell yes. Plus, there’s no clean up if you’re not the one using all the dishes…<span id="more-32284"></span></p>
<p><strong>The Gym:</strong> As any lady knows, summer is either the best time to flaunt your hard earned bikini-bod, or to berate yourself for spending more of Spring watching <em>The Office</em> than a yoga instructor. So naturally, gym time is a necessary evil (unless you enjoy working out, which I sadly do not). Imagine my disappointment when I arrived at my campus gym early for kickboxing, only to have my student I.D. DENIED at the turnstile. It was almost as embarrassing as having a credit card declined, weirdly enough. Apparently, if you don’t take summer classes at FSU, you can’t use the gym (I guess the tuition I pay during fall and spring doesn’t cut it). Every day as I run outside (instead of on a treadmill with AC and <em>Daisy of Love </em>repeats) I count the days until I’ll be back at the student gym.</p>
<p><strong>The Bar Scene:</strong> Never in my life did I think I’d find myself wishing for the bar to be more crowded. There are no lines for the bathroom, the bartenders are almost overly attentive, and I have enough room to extend my arms. All of these are seemingly good things, but when there are no people to watch, no strangers to mingle with, and no one standing between me and unlimited mojitos, things at the bar just don’t end well. When it takes me 20 minutes to fight my way through the crowd to the bar in Fall, I will look back at this time lovingly, but for now, the bar scene just seems kinda boring.</p>
<p><strong>“Academic Expenses”</strong>: As I mentioned before, I’m a working woman. But when my parents offer to help out with any school related costs, I definitely don’t turn it down. The beauty of this is that there is always some way to explain a purchase as necessary to my academic career. “Supplies” at Walmart, “Business attire” for those in-class presentations, and my personal favorite “Whatever they sell at the bookstore” because Mom’s credit card is on file there. A random charge on her statement is easily explained during the semester, but trying to convince her that I need money for “road trip supplies” doesn’t go as smoothly.</p>
<p>Overall, I’m not complaining about a long, hot and relaxing summer—but there are definitely a few things I miss about Fall and Spring. What about you guys?</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><img src="http://collegecandy.files.wordpress.com/2009/01/12/gamenight4large1.jpg?w=467&h=350" alt="gamenight4large1.jpg" align="right" height="350" width="467" />There&#8217;s something that doesn&#8217;t seem quite right about the fact that a college student is more likely to skip class when the atmospheric temp drops below zero than to say &#8220;no&#8221; to a party.</p>
<p>Sure, we can layer five sweaters, two hoodies, a parka, and a scarf, but once we&#8217;ve stepped outside, bookbag in hand, we realize we would much rather snuggle up under our down comforters and hibernate until spring. Yet, when Friday rolls around, we&#8217;re willing to trudge across campus in a blizzard, wearing mini skirts and halter tops, just to look cute for Martini Night.</p>
<p>Of course, these practices only snowball (har har har) into bigger problems when we get strep throat, bronchitis, the flu, or other wintery illness since our immune systems have been frozen solid. Rather than braving the cold, risking hypothermia, or sitting in an ice-cube of a car, begging the heat to kick in for twenty minutes just so you can feel the steering wheel to drive to a party, here are some ways to make the weekends work&#8230;warmly.</p>
<p>1.  <strong>Host a floor party.</strong></p>
<p>Especially in suite-style dorms or university apartment complexes, this is a no-brainer. Everyone can pop in and out as they please, nobody even needs a jacket, and you&#8217;ll never be stuck being the DD. If your RA is a stickler for the rules, this can be tricky, but if you can get away with it, have an open house on your floor/in your hall/ around the building.<span id="more-15773"></span></p>
<p>2.<strong>  Order delivery.</strong></p>
<p>You&#8217;re going to do it anyway if you&#8217;re stumbling home from the bar. So skip the &#8220;going outside&#8221; part- don&#8217;t even venture to the dining hall- and order a couple of piping hot pizzas, right to your door. Make some hot cocoa in your microwave (spike it with Bailey&#8217;s if you like), and have a roasted, toasted food fest. When you&#8217;re finished indulging, you wouldn&#8217;t want to wear a skimpy outfit anyway.</p>
<p>3.  <strong>Make your dorm room a personal spa.</strong></p>
<p>Pretend spring break has come early. Soak your feet in hot water, relax with a heating pad, or model the bikini you bought for the upcoming season. Getting in the mood for summer will help you beat the winter blues. Since you&#8217;re staying in anyway, blend up some margaritas. You are always just one step away from snuggling under the cozy, warm covers.</p>
<p>4.  <strong>Blackout.</strong></p>
<p>I&#8217;m not talking about irresponsible drinking. But, since the winter months are the darkest, take advantage of the 4 p.m. nightfall and save some energy. Once, during a winter-storm-induced blackout, my roommate and I lit all of our (illegal by university housing codes) candles, lined up shots of all of the different types of liquor in our kitchen and had a dimmed dance party. To avoid getting written up, use flashlights or a few small lamps. Break out some old board games, or simply have a girly bonding night&#8230;in the dark.</p>
<p>5.  <strong>Snuggle up with that special someone.</strong></p>
<p>Nothing keeps you warm like someone else&#8217;s body heat! You can do any of the above with your honey, or release all of your school-induced tension by staying in bed all weekend long. You&#8217;ll save money on the bar, burn some calories, and the only gloves you&#8217;ll need will be ribbed for your pleasure.</p>
<p>No need to risk driving on icy roads, falling into snowbanks, or getting windburn on your face this winter. There&#8217;s plenty of ways to entertain yourself within the confines of your nice, warm walls &#8211; whether you&#8217;re cheating on your spring break diet (which you deserve), partying it up with your neighbors, being silly (cabin fever can have that affect- and I like it!), or finding an excuse to try Cosmo&#8217;s latest &#8220;Best Ever&#8221; position! What do you do to beat the winter blues?</p>

		<description><![CDATA[<p>It&#8217;s finally happened. I&#8217;ve finally completely lost my mind.</p>

<p>Yes, you understood that video correctly&#8211;there is going to be a show in which reality &#8220;stars&#8221; from Flavor of Love, Rock of Love, and I Love New York compete for cash (specifically, $250,000). And not the actual stars. It&#8217;s going to be the doofuses (doofii?) who competed for the lame stars&#8217; hearts. (Note: New York is not lame. &#8230;</p><img alt="" border="0" src="http://stats.wordpress.com/b.gif?host=collegecandy.com&#038;blog=860993&#038;post=10213&#038;subd=collegecandy&#038;ref=&#038;feed=1" width="1" height="1" />]]></description>
			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><img src="http://mbmfiles.com/a/080512-V6g2favt1c9P.jpg" title="i love money" alt="i love money" align="right" />It&#8217;s finally happened. I&#8217;ve finally completely lost my mind.</p>
<p>How do I know? Because I&#8217;m really, really looking forward to <a href="http://www.vh1.com/video/play.jhtml?id=1590242&amp;vid=253928">this</a>.</p>
<p>Yes, you understood that video correctly&#8211;there is going to be a show in which reality &#8220;stars&#8221; from <em>Flavor of Love</em>, <em>Rock of Love</em>, and <em>I Love New York</em> compete for cash (specifically, $250,000). And not the actual stars. It&#8217;s going to be the doofuses (doofii?) who competed for the lame stars&#8217; hearts. (Note: New York is <em>not</em> lame. New York is a marvel of nature whose delightful bizarreness I will love for always. Just so&#8217;s ya know.)</p>
<p>Annnnyway, let&#8217;s take a look at the cast, shall we?</p>
<p><strong>Brandi C. from <em>Rock of Love</em></strong></p>
<p>That weird blonde chick from the first season who kept calling Bret her boyfriend is back for the moolah. Having tried porn after she got off the show (frankly, not surprising), she was ready to jump back on the screen and into our hearts. Wait, did I say hearts? I meant nightmares.</p>
<p><strong>The Entertainer from <em>I Love New York</em></strong></p>
<p>The crazo who got kicked off the show for living with his parents is back for more. This guy was pretty freaking crazy&#8211;there was an episode where he was convinced the house was haunted, so he wouldn&#8217;t take off his construction helmet. And I mean; what those two wacko things even have to do with one another I do not know.<span id="more-10213"></span></p>
<p><strong>Hoopz from<em> Flavor of Love</em></strong></p>
<p>The first ever (of three, but still) winner of <em>FOL</em> is back to kick some butt. She always seemed kind of dumb to me (and I was pissed when she beat New York [have I mentioned I really like New York?]) but maybe she&#8217;ll actually <em>keep</em> the prize this time&#8230;</p>
<p><strong>Midget Mac from <em>I Love New York</em></strong></p>
<p>Yeah, he never had a chance before, but maybe he&#8217;ll win this one! MM is a wacky lil&#8217; guy (I can say that! I&#8217;m under 5&#8242; myself!), but he&#8217;s actually pretty lovable. I hope he wins it for his kids.</p>
<p><strong>Megan from <em>Rock of Love</em></strong></p>
<p>And *ahem* <em>Beauty and the Geek</em>. Lame. Megan is like my least favorite of all of these people. Not only does she appear to be an idiot, but she also appears to be vindictive, like when she took what&#8217;s-her-face&#8217;s note off Bret&#8217;s door and then copied the idea and lied about the whole thing. She totally sucks, and is totally NOT as cute as she seems to think. Therefore, I hope she gets kicked off first.</p>
<p><strong>Nibblz from <em>Flavor of Love</em></strong></p>
<p>I actually had to look this one up. And then, unfortunately, I remembered. Nibblz is the bisexual stripper who showed Flav&#8217;s friends her boob. Also, she was gross and has a weird lisp. But, okay, good luck, Nibblz. Let&#8217;s see what you got.</p>
<p><strong>Real from <em>I Love New York</em></strong></p>
<p>Real was third place on season 1. He was Chance&#8217;s brother (who New York obviously should have chosen&#8211;I&#8217;m sure, New York! But I&#8217;m glad you ended up with Tailor Made after season 2!) and actually seemed almost like a normal person. For this reason, I doubt he&#8217;ll last long, but, still, gotta root for the nice guy.</p>
<p><strong>Chance from <em>I Love New York</em></strong></p>
<p>Like I said, shoulda won season 1! But, whatever. Chance should be awesome on this show. He&#8217;s got a weird attitude and temper, but he&#8217;s actually really funny, which is appealing in a sea of bland reality-show-wannabes. Plus I think he&#8217;ll put it into his music with Real, which is just fun and cool. Come on, Chance!</p>
<p><strong>12 Pack from <em>I Love New York</em></strong></p>
<p>The male stripper who drank more than everyone combined and who then went off and started a touring party boy thing with Heat (his lover? just speculation on my part) is back. His face is nice, but personally, I find his freako muscles really frightening. But, you know, except for the frat boy machismo thing, he was pretty enjoyable to watch. Here&#8217;s to hoping he will be again.</p>
<p><strong>Heat from <em>I Love New York</em></strong></p>
<p>I thought Heat was really hot (no pun intended), but it turned out he kind of had no personality. Maybe his function is this show is to make out with 12 Pack and set the show on its head when they all fight about whether or not that makes them gay.</p>
<p><strong>Destiny from <em>Rock of Love</em></strong></p>
<p>She was kind of a groupie with a bad attitude, but, then again, her dad was very ill, so I&#8217;m going to give her a little bit of a pass and try to see her with fresh eyes this time around. Maybe she&#8217;ll throw a drink in someone&#8217;s face again. That was kind of funny.</p>
<p><strong>Heather from <em>Rock of Love</em></strong></p>
<p>I don&#8217;t know why, but Heather was kind of the breakout star of <em>ROL</em>. I mean, at first she seemed like a manbot junkie for Lacey, but then she realized Lacey was evil and kind of had a righteous moment. I don&#8217;t know. I&#8217;m conflicted. But everyone else seems to love her, and she is kind of tough as sh*t, so maybe she&#8217;ll be cool.</p>
<p><strong>Mr. Boston from <em>I Love New York</em></strong></p>
<p>He&#8217;s a gross nose-picking geek with the worst voice you can imagine (no, even worse), but New York really liked him for a while. I don&#8217;t like him, but I appreciate that he&#8217;s not a complete idiot. Maybe he&#8217;ll finally triumph. However, in the meantime, I&#8217;ll be needing earplugs.</p>
<p><strong>Pumkin from <em>Flavor of Love</em></strong></p>
<p>Pumkin is so wild she got kicked off of <em>Charm School</em> for being slutty. She spit on New York (boooo), but she&#8217;s pretty funny, so I&#8217;m excited to see her back again. I mean, yeah, she&#8217;s gross, but she&#8217;s amusing. So bring it, Pumkin&#8211;let&#8217;s go!</p>
<p><strong>Rodeo from <em>Rock of Love</em></strong></p>
<p>She&#8217;s the 85-year-old who honestly thought Bret would pick her (hint: he ended up picking a 19-year-old&#8230;so&#8230;yeah). Okay, she&#8217;s not 85, but she&#8217;s got to be in her 40s, yes? What is she doing on reality TV?! While I&#8217;m tempted to say, &#8220;get a life, lady,&#8221; Rodeo actually didn&#8217;t completely suck. Although it is weird that her name is Rodeo. Also, she&#8217;s nuts. But, meh. I&#8217;ll give &#8216;er a go.</p>
<p><strong>Whiteboy from <em>I Love New York</em></strong></p>
<p>He was pretty boring, but maybe he&#8217;ll suck less here. I guess he had kind of a stoic thing going. I just can&#8217;t imagine him competing very hard. Hell, I can&#8217;t imagine him doing much. Because he&#8217;s boring.</p>
<p>And last, but certainly not least,</p>
<p><strong>Tastee from <em>Flavor of Love</em></strong></p>
<p>Yeaaaah, boiiiii!!!! Tastee! Too slutty for Flav! And that&#8217;s saying something! She got kicked off for being a porn star. And she seemed so tiny and quiet! And yet somehow completely untrustworthy&#8230;didn&#8217;t she cause a fight or something? I forget. Anyway, Tastee! Psyched to have you back!</p>
<p>I know this is going to be the worst show ever. But I also know that I will watch it. And I know many, many other people will as well. And that&#8217;s how I know society as a whole has failed.</p>

		<description><![CDATA[<p>If you’re anything like me, you own one air conditioner that’s only strong enough to cool a tiny pocket of air, and you’re afraid to turn it on anyway because of that pesky electricity bill.</p>
<p>So basically, you’re spending these summer days dripping in sweat. And not that pretty, girlish glisten. Sweat. Sticking to your clothes, running down your back, mattering your hair down until you feel as attractive and energetic as a cat that’s been hosed with dirty water.&#8230;</p><img alt="" border="0" src="http://stats.wordpress.com/b.gif?host=collegecandy.com&#038;blog=860993&#038;post=4093&#038;subd=collegecandy&#038;ref=&#038;feed=1" width="1" height="1" />]]></description>
			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><img src="http://collegecandy.files.wordpress.com/2007/07/11/23519836.jpg?w=331&h=335" alt="pool" align="right" height="335" width="331" />If you’re anything like me, you own one air conditioner that’s only strong enough to cool a tiny pocket of air, and you’re afraid to turn it on anyway because of that pesky electricity bill.</p>
<p>So basically, you’re spending these summer days dripping in sweat. And not that pretty, girlish glisten. <em>Sweat</em>. Sticking to your clothes, running down your back, mattering your hair down until you feel as attractive and energetic as a cat that’s been hosed with dirty water.</p>
<p>What’s a girl stuck in the middle of summer without AC to do? She <a href="http://www.treehugger.com/files/2006/06/how_to_stay_coo.php">improvises</a>.</p>
<p><strong></p>
<p>#1 Make a Towel-sicle</strong>: If you’re certain it’s going to be 90 degrees with a 100% chance of stuffiness tonight, wet a small washcloth or towel and put it in freezer for up to an hour. When you’re ready to go to bed, take that baby out and use it to cool yourself for a few blissful minutes. The one downside to this endeavor is the obvious melting issue, but hey, a little wetness never hurt anyone.</p>
<p><strong>#2 Freeze your Head</strong>: Much like the towel-sicle, all this improvisation needs is a cloth bandana and a freezer. Moisten the bandana and stick it in the freezer up to an hour before going outside. Sure, you can <a href="http://industrialsavings.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&amp;Product_Code=940&amp;Category_Code=bandanas">buy </a>something made specifically for this purpose, but most of them make you look like a giant tool. <span id="more-4093"></span></p>
<p><strong>#3 About Face the Fan</strong>: When the temperature outside is just as hot as the temperature inside, it makes no sense to have a window fan that’s blowing hot air into your room. Turning the fan around so it blows air back <em>out </em>your window keep things circulating, and does wonders for that “stagnant room” smell.</p>
<p><strong>#4 Shower it Up</strong>: Obvious, you say? Maybe, but a good cold shower can invigorate and rejuvenate, and it’s always advisable to rinse that lovely face off after a day of sweaty activity. Clean skin is happy skin.</p>
<p><strong></p>
<p>#5 Cover Your Seat</strong>: Leather car seats can be torture after a day in the sun, so do those thighs a favor and drape them with a <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Wagan-Tech-Bamboo-Seat-Cover/sim/B000P7RV00/2">bamboo cove</a>r. Bamboo rarely gets hot and doesn’t soak up sweat, plus, retro is always in.</p>
<p><strong>#6 Soak Those Feet</strong>: One of the fastest ways to lower a body’s temperature is to dunk the feet into ice water. Find a bowel, fill it with cold water and ice, turn on the TV, and soak yourself cool.</p>
<p>Always remember, camping out in front of an open fridge won’t do anything except suck up your energy bill and wilt all your veggies. If it’s really too hot to deal, finding your nearest public library, church, or mall is the best way to<a href="http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m0NAH/is_7_35/ai_n14816972"> chill out</a> for a few hours.</p>
<p>And don’t worry, you’re not the only one who’s melting this summer. I’m right there with you, wiping my liquefied eyeliner five times a day and secretly dropping ice cubes from the company fridge down my shirt.</p>
<p>I won’t tell if you won’t.</p>
