Simon Cowell might be a jerk, but he sure is good at making popular TV shows. He’s the man behind American Idol, America’s Got Talent, and The X Factor, along with about a million other shows internationally. And he’s just announced that his newest project will be a DJ competition show.

Simon is teaming up with Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith to create the show. Apparently, BET has already had a similar series running for two years. But Simon is talking to bigger networks like Fox and NBC to try and make this idea his next big thing. He says that “DJs are the new rockstars,” and that he wants to make DJs just as famous and recognizable as pop stars.

Now that Oprah’s off the air (well, not really– she just decided to start her own TV network instead), I’m starting to wonder who will take her place as an overwhelming wealthy woman who uses her resources and media presence for good. Sure, no one will ever replace Ms. Winfrey, but I sure hope she’s not the last woman to inspire and help the world to the extent that Oprah did. Even if they don’t land their own talk show, there’s a handful of well-known women who I know I’d have no problem sitting across from and telling my life story to.

Everyone’s got their celebrity/iconic role models. Some look up to Hillary Clinton for being such a strong, empowered woman. Some look up to Lady Gaga for being who she is, regardless of what other people think. Some may even look up to Tyra for proving that crazy people can get famous too.

Personally, I think all of those women are great (or crazy, in the case of the last one), but I have my own role models, whom I look up to for something very near and dear to my heart: sex. These women are all confident, beautiful, and not afraid to talk about sex. I have invited each of these women into my bedroom (their attitudes, at least)  and each has helped me enjoy sex and my own sexuality a whole lot more.

Halle Berry

Why She Rocks: She knows good sex and isn’t afraid to ask for it.

How She Inspired Me: I don’t have to be afraid of my sexuality; it’s OK for me to have needs and do what I can to fulfill them.

How She Inspired Me: It’s easy to get caught up in the day to day stuff in a relationship, but Jada reminded me that we gotta make time to spice things up, otherwise things can go down hill quickly.

Why She Rocks: She’s still doing sex scenes at 60 and she’ll probably be doing them for years to come.

How She Inspired Me: We’re all sexy – no matter what shape, size or age – and we just always need to remember that.

How She Inspired Me: No, Goldie didn’t have me running to my parents to ask about their sex lives. But she did get me to stop, take a moment, and appreciate sex for the beautiful, powerful and awesome thing that it can be.

Angelina Jolie

Why She Rocks: Angelina is one celebrity who was never afraid to speak honestly about her sex life, no matter how strange other people found it, and I admire her for that. She’s also remained sexy and confident while managing to be a great mom to six kids.

How She Inspired Me: Sometimes I’m afraid to try new things in the bedroom, but if Angelina can do it (and snag Brad Pitt), why not me?

Scarlett Johansson

How She Inspired Me: I assume she’s had sex with Ryan Reynolds in an elevator without anyone finding out and that’s something I’ve always wanted to do…

Will Smith is hot.

But let me tell you why. Even since his days as “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” Will Smith has oozed sexiness like whoa. Yes, even with the neon sweatsuits. But he was never that cocky-hottie sorta guy: he is and always has been a family-loving gentleman and an all around good guy.

I mean, the guy even did rap music respectfully. He took home a couple Grammy’s and never once did he mention “b!$#@es n’ hoes” in his lyrics. Sure, that may have led him to undergo some bullying from hot shots like Eminem (remember the line, “Will Smith don’t gotta cuss in his raps to sell records, well I do so F*ck him and F*ck you too!”), but we have a soft spot for the underdogs!

But music isn’t all he does; Mr. Smith is a super talented actor. With hits like “Bad Boys,” “Independence Day,” “Hitch, “The Pursuit of Happiness,” and, who can forget, “Men In Black,” Smith has more than proved himself to Hollywood. And he looked damn good doing it! WOWZA!

What makes Smith even more effable is his soft side. He and wife, Jada, recently donated $1 million to a school of Scientology to help with school supplies and organic meals. Yes, it’s creepy Scientology, but it was still a donation to benefit kids and nothing is hotter than a guy who loves kids.

Will Smith is 100% the complete package…and I’m sure he’s got a complete package, too, if you know what I mean. Ayooo.

To top it all off, the idea of effing Will Smith is actually doable. Apparently he and Jada have some strange agreement that they can do the naughty with whomever they want as long as they don’t tell each other about it. I could be that person. I COULD BE THAT PERSON….if I ever meet him (or even see him).

It sounds like a bad episode of the Twilight Zone, but it’s unnervingly something that a hell of a lot of people believe in. With an estimate lingering uncertainly between 50,000 and several million, Scientology is a popular rising “religion”, getting more followers by the day.

I heard this in passing a couple months ago, but it was right after the release of I Am Legend and I just dismissed it as a bad rumor. But PerezHilton seems to have picked up on it, too, and I can’t say that it doesn’t unnerve me.

For those of you know don’t know, Scientology has been around since the early 1950′s. It was founded by a sci-fi author named L. Ron Hubbard, who stated that the aims of Scientology were, “A civilization without insanity, without criminals and without war, where the able can prosper and honest beings can have rights, and where man is free to rise to greater heights.”

All and all it sounds like a fairly harmless religion, and far be it for me to judge anyone on their faith. But it’s less like a religion and more like a cult, and it wouldn’t be such a problem if it weren’t so dangerous. There are far too many people that have died because of Scientology, and yet it’s still growing strong, getting more and more supporters by the day.

There’s even a huge group of people who are against Scientology; only really known as Anonymous (though other protesters and critics joined in), there have been two very recent rallies against Scientology across the world, and the one in February had an attendance of over 7,500 people.

If you’d like, you can go to Operation Clambake to learn more about Scientology and why it’s as intimidating as it is. Like I said; I’m in no real position to judge anyone’s religion. But when the boundaries are erased and basic human rights infringed upon, it doesn’t matter how many celebrities are on the cover of the magazine. I’m a lot more concerned about the contents.

So Will, this better be some crazy rumor, because I don’t want to lose you to Scientology.
