OMG Titanic director James Cameron is on a deep sea dive to the bottom of the Pacific Ocean as I’m typing this. He’s racing multimillionaire explorer Richard Branson in what they’re calling the Deep Challenge. Branson is using a Triton submarine and president Patrick Lahey said, ”We’re interested in getting more people to give a shit about the ocean.” Triton is currently building subs to open deep sea exploring to the public and aims to have the special subs ready by next year.

According to National Geographic, if James Cameron makes it, “the National Geographic explorer and filmmaker should become the first human to reachthe Mariana Trench’s Challenger Deep alone—and the only one to explore it in depth, in person.” James Cameron is traveling in a lime green one-seater submarine. Talk about an amazing moment in Hollywood; her win for ‘Best Director’ marked the first ever win by a woman. This (and the fact she beat her ex husband in the race to Oscar victory) is only one reason we are in awe of this woman.

No offense to you, James Cameron. I love what you did with Titanic. It was a cinematic masterpiece that will remain close to my heart.  But I do not think I can say the same for your new movie, Avatar.  It may be the culmination of your life’s work, but honestly, the blue animated people look plain stupid. And it baffles me that every time the trailer comes on, every male in a 10-foot radius immediately goes from 6 to midnight. December 18^th can’t come soon enough for them, and I just don’t get it.
