Chelsea Gill put pen to paper when it came to scoring a date with her celeb crush, Jason Segel. She wrote a super creative song for the actor that combined nerdy, cute and clever in equal measures. Name dropping both the Muppets and Lord of the Rings, we’re hoping Jason accepts her invitation to grab some drinks before the year’s over. And, in what we’d argue is the best stanza, college-student Chelsea let’s her date know he’s got nothing to worry about: “Oh Jason Segel/It’s important you know I’m legal/So any crazy sh*t you wanna do/Just know I can do it too.”

Word on the street is that Jason has seen the video and is asking for a few days to compose his own musical response. Get excited!!

Happy Hanukkah, Jewesses! If you’re one of the lucky girls out there who still gets a sick present for every one of the 8 (crazy) nights, kudos to you. Bitch. Jason Segel. My knight in once-awkward Jewish armor. This man has no fear.  Especially when he showed off his matzoh balls in ‘Forgetting Sarah Marshall.’  Woo-wee, Segel!  Don’t be shy!  We love the 6’4 Los Angeles native for making us laugh until we cry with all of the high-larious movies he stars in. And who can forget his dorkier, more romantic side in ‘How I Met Your Mother’? Swoon.

Not only will Mr. Segel impress Bubbie with his classic Jewish good looks and Daddy with his successful career, but we’ll know he’ll impress our little brother when he smokes him out behind the garage. It’s a win win win.

So this is awesome.

On Sunday night while the rest of the world (or at least those of us with a baby crush on Aziz Ansari) was sitting at home watching the MTV Movie Awards, I was there. On the red carpet. Trying to get Jason Segel to take advantage of me interview all the cool celebs as they made their way into the big show. And besides the extremely hot temperature of L.A. on a June afternoon, it was pretty effing rad.

All your favorite stars were there: Snooki (sans poof!), LiLo (in a sequined pants-suit-jumper–whaaat?), Paul Rudd (sigh), and Snoop (who loved CollegeCandy – obvi). There was also tons of media, tons of people who try to act important but really aren’t (Stephanie Pratt, I’m looking at you!) and there were lots of girls who really, really could use a cookie (and not the vegan kind that are abundant in LA. I’m talking the really large, frosted, full of trans-fat crap kind of cookie that will help said girls look more like a bootylicious babe and less like those emaciated kids you see on TV that you can help save for a mere $1 a day.) Boys were rocking skinnier jeans than any pair in my closet, girls were wearing dresses so short I became convinced Britney made it cool for L.A. girls to flash their bits.

And we saw them all up close and (way too) personal.

We talked to some of your favorite reality stars and were back for a second year with our dry erase board sign, putting the girls who posed with it at ease by telling them that we are not – hand to god – a porn site, while at the same time disappointing every male celeb with that same piece of information.

And here’s how it all went down: who we saw, who we stalked, and who we screamed at as they walked by us to get out of the hot, summer sun.

This week I celebrated a birthday and for the first time in my life I couldn’t think of one thing that I really wanted. I had already gotten all of my friends together (and to dress up in ridiculous costumes) for a party, I got a half dozen cupcakes (and 3 full cups of frosting!), and I spent the entire day on the phone with the most important people in my life. Oh, and my oldest friend took me out for all-you-can-eat sushi. What more could a girl want?

When my mother called to ask me what I wanted, then, I was stumped.

“Uh, I have no clue. I can’t think of anything.”
“Can’t think of anything? Are you drunk?” She asked.
“No, mom. Why do you always ask me that?” I replied, now realizing how inappropriate it would be to ask for booze….
“Well, just think about it. If you could have a room full of anything right now, what would it be?”
“Paul Rudds.”

I got a Starbucks gift card and an “I Love You, Man” DVD in the mail the next day.  Clearly, her little experiment failed (no matter how hard she would try, I know she’d never get Paul Rudd to agree to be cloned… and then stand in a small room to wait for me), but I realized what a great question it was. It’s just so telling about a person. So this week I posed the very same question to the CollegeCandy writers:

Emmy – Loyola University Chicago: Ghiradelli dark chocolate filled with caramel, and New Orleans beignets from the Grand Luxe Cafe!

Sarabeth – University of Texas: It might not be creative, but MONEY!

Jill – Universtiy of Wisconsin: I would want a room full of chocolate chip banana bread that tastes so bad for you but – surprise! – is totally calorie free. And if the Backstreet Boys and/or Jason Segel could be in said room spoonfeeding the B-bread to me, well, that’s just bonus points.

Jasmin – University of Missouri: York Mints! York Mints and freshly groomed puppies!

Leah – Ryerson University: A Marc Jacobs boutique with everything in my size.

Brittany – University of Saint Thomas: Is it fair if we can take as many things from this room out as possible? If so, definitely round trip tickets to anywhere around the world. Nope. Change my mind. My answer is puppies.

Ness – Sheridan: My dream room would just be the biggest mattress, a grotesque amount of pillows and blankets, and bookshelves all over the walls filled with books and DVDs. Oh, and a plasma screen would be nice. Sleep, sex, relaxation, movies, and reading? I don’t think a room could get any better than that. Okay, so it’s not a room full of one thing, but DAYUM.

Alex – Lakehead University: A room full of PURSES! Designer ones, of course. I’m a total bag lady.

Lauren – University of Michigan: Chanel bags filled with Lucky Charm marshmallows. OMG, I just drooled thinking about it.

Katie – Michigan State University: Money. No joke, that would be awesome. Or designer shoes in my size. Same thing really.

Zahra – Northwestern University: I’d want a roomful of all the books that I’ve heard about and wanted to read but either forget their names or don’t have time to.

Christie – NC State: Clothes! Duh.

Meg – University of Delaware: I’d have a room full of cars: one for the weekend, one for weekdays, summer car, winter car, classic, new, you name it.

Kelly – Simmons College: Hundred dollar bills.

Brithny – Duke: Those plastic wrapping bubble things. I always pop every single one (minor OCD tendencies).

Charlsie – Hollins: If I could h ave a room full of anything, it would be a room full of Jelly Bellys. But only the flavors I like!

Jackelyn – San Francisco State University: A room full of food that is free of calories, but still fills me up with nutritional value. Yeah, that would be the life!

Norah – Drake University: Books. Oh wait, that’s a library, isn’t it?

Carly – Grinnell: Probably a room full of nonperishable baking ingredients. Flour, sugar, chocolate (oh, chocolate) . . . yes . . .

Kelly – University of Iowa: Kittens!

Almost as good as latkes. Mmmmm.

Put on your yarmulke, it’s time for Hanukkah! (Chanukkah? Hhannuukkka? I’ve heard there might be a silent “j” in there somewhere…)

Everyone’s favorite Maccabee-inspired, latke-flavored, menorah-lit, better-than-Christmas—yeah, I said it—holiday starts tonight at sundown. And even though I’m hoping to get a few specific gifts this year, there’s only one thing I really want to find wrapped in a giant box on Day Eight: a nice, Jewish boy. I don’t think it’s too much to ask; I go to school in New York City, for Moses’s sake.

But I’m not the only one who should be angling for some Semitic lovin’ this holiday season. Dating Jewish boys is the best, and everyone should do it. Why? Well, I’m glad you asked:

-  They’re funny. If you need proof, Wikipedia has 228 pages in its “Jewish comedians” category. Sure, a lot of them—Woody Allen, Al Franken, Howard Stern—aren’t exactly dreamboats. But Seth Rogen, Michael Showalter, Jon Stewart (real name: Jon Stuart Leibowitz), and plenty of other dudes are the whole package: Jewish, funny, and cute.

- Even if your Jewish guy doesn’t have a quick wit, he might have a Jew fro, which is probably hilarious enough to compensate.

-  Jewish dudes have so many neuroses that your quirks will seem tame and adorable by comparison.

-  They know how to treat a lady. Between the guilt and the daily dealings with a Jewish mother, these boys have learned the rights and wrongs when it comes to interacting with the lady folk.

-  They’re also used to dealing with a big, dramatic, sometimes-embarrassing family, so they won’t freak out when they meet your folks.

-  And speaking of family: if a Jewish guy’s mom likes you, you’re set for the rest of the relationship (and I’m not just talkin’ about all the good cookin’ coming out of her kitchen). My mom still asks my 25-year-old brother why he isn’t married to the girl he dated his sophomore year of college. I think she might even still have weekly phone dates with her.

-  When they get older and start to lose a little hair up top, they can just cover it up with a yarmulke and no one (especially all your girl friends) will be the wiser.

-  Jewish guys come with Jewish holidays (lots of them), which come with Jewish food: kugel, blintzes, bagels and lox, brisket, challah…

-  Maybe best of all, according to the Torah, it’s a mitzvah (good deed) to have sex on Shabbat, a.k.a. Friday night and all day Saturday. Sure, this is only technically true for married couples, but I doubt your Jewish beau will care.

And that is exactly what I plan to do on this day, National Sandwich Day. Sit in peace and eat my go-to sandwich: the T.B.M sandwich from Cosi. With only a mere three ingredients, this sandwich somehow speaks to my soul and brightens even the darkest of days (no thanks to you, Daylight Savings Time.) If this sandwich was a man, I’d be rolling around in bed with it right now. Hell, maybe I’ll do it anyway.

My love of sandwiches and my love of men run almost parallel to each other on the mathematical graph of my life, intersecting only at the moment someone lets me eat a sandwich and have sex at the same time. That’s the stuff dreams are made of. And until that time comes, I’ve thought up a few sandwich ideas that bring my two weaknesses together.

The “I Love You, Sandwich” Sandwich: A piece of Paul Rudd in between two slices of Jason Segel with a side of honey mustard. Paul is the tried-and-true turkey to Jason’s hesitant-at-first-but-turns-out-to-be-a-party-in-my-mouth avocado. Unstoppable.

Ocean’s 11-Grain Sandwich: George Clooney and Brad Pitt lying neatly between two pieces of multi-grain bread. Let’s face it. George is getting old, bound to be a little gritty. But Brad balances out the sandwich with his smooth and creamy loins texture. Add a little Matt Damon on top for a little extra pop of flavor.

The Knocked-Up Fat Cat: A large submarine sandwich filled with ingredients such as, but not limited to: French fries, mozzarella sticks, chicken fingers, jalapeño poppers, pizza bites, Seth Rogen and Jonah Hill. Because who doesn’t get the munchies from time to time? Maybe you can cut it with the Samurai sword you keep in your room.

The Guilty Pleasure Open-Face Melt: Because there’s nothing I like more than Chace Crawford, Ed Westwick and whole wheel of cheese.  As much as you would like to just say no in the face of temptation, I’d like to see anyone deny these Gossip Girl stars…. especially if they’re covered in gooey, melted, cheesy goodness.

The Sloppy Jack: Grade-A man meat Jack Black is a hot mess. But we love him anyway. It’s obviously going to splatter all over the crotch of your pants, but no one ever cries over spilt Jack Black. I want my Manwich, please!

Yeah, that’s right, I said it. I am over them.

Okay, so I’ll always have a weakness for super hot abs (I’m looking at you, RPatz), but I would much rather spend my time with the new class of men out there. I call them the Hunky Beefy Boys and they are redefining what it means for men to be sexy. And I like it.

Thanks to the new comedians out there in Hollywood, charming is in and hot is out. Comedians like Jason Segel, Vince Vaughn, Seth Rogen, and Will Ferrell are now considered Hollywood’s sexiest. Whereas women wouldn’t give guys like them a fighting chance before, these guys are now making the girls swoon.

So maybe they don’t have washboard stomachs or chiseled cheek bones but they have charm, wit, and a sense of humor that make them completely irresistible. And they are all perfectly hunky beefy: tall with a little more cushion for the pushin’, but still fit and mouth-watering.

Traditional hotties of the past like George Clooney, Harrison Ford, Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt are still sexy, obvs, but they are starting to fall by the wayside for these new guys who have something more than an Abercrombie smile.

So what is it exactly that has us melting like a pat of butter into their husky hands?

Their Humor/Wit/Pure Awesomeness: Honestly, who wouldn’t want to spend time with someone that can literally make your sides hurt with laughter? Any guy can be sweet, but not all guys can be funny. Plus, laughing contracts your ab muscles, so keeping these men around means a much more toned and defined mid-section (legit).

Their Effort in Bed: Most of these non-traditional sexy men don’t have the perfect face and body of the traditional hot men of women’s fantasies. Unlike someone like George Clooney, who just has to look at a woman to get her in bed, these guys have to work for a girl’s attention. And work hard. And what does that mean? It means they’re all about the giving in bed. Which works out well for all of the takers out there. Mainly, me.

Their Charm: Every girl wants a guy that her friends and family can love. A pretty face can only last so long, but a great personality and charm will last forever. Work function, a friend’s party, or a relative’s wedding? These men will not only be fine on their own when you beeline to the bathroom, but will probably be the hit of whatever crowd they’re a part of. Their confidence (and dance moves…thank you, Wedding Crashers) is utterly irresistible to anyone and everyone.

Their Bear Hugs: Nothing feels better than a guy who can wrap his arms around you and make you feel warm and safe. Well, nothing besides a guy who can pick you up and hold you against a wall during sexy time. And, let’s be real, those tall, hunky frames are perfect for snuggle-time too.

So guys, if you’re reading this, don’t worry if you’re no James Dean. Just charm us and make us giggle; you’ll be on your way to sex symbol in no time.
