I’m an earrings girl. I couldn’t care less about necklaces, bracelets, rings, etc, but earrings are truly my “thing.” I have big hair and require even bigger earrings so they don’t get lost in my masses of curls. I have a sizable collection of costume jewelery earrings, made of cheap brass and nickel, but I also have a few precious gems hiding amongst the cheapies. I always like to treat myself to a new pair for a special occasion and I think I may have found that pair in the Kenneth Jay Lane Artemis earrings.

Firstly, they are named after Artemis, a Greek goddess (like, actually) who happened to be the twin sister of Apollo. She is also the most badass goddess, as she sees over hunting and the wilderness, all while being unbelievably beautiful. I think the name is totally appropriate; these earrings are 18k gold-plated and lady-like, but also unique, with they’re hammered-shape. You definitely need to have some self-confidence to rock these bad boys! Let’s start with a daytime holiday outfit, which I imagined at a brunch!

I love the gold-tone of these earrings and wanted to play it up with the mustard dress. Add a pair of tights to keep warm! The nude platforms keep with the earthy feel of this outfit, as does the wooden bangle. Add a brown clutch with gold accents and you’re done!

And now evening.

For evening, keep with the Greek theme in a one shoulder number with lots of gathers. The forest green is gorgeous, sultry and unexpected. Add a simple black evening bag and some arsty, gold bangles for accessories, as well as the nude platforms. It’s like 2x the Versatile Style today! To show off the earrings, do your hair in a fun, high pony with lots of lift in the front.

One of the hottest accessories trends for spring is stacked bangles. This trend is not about subtlety, but about mixing bracelets together in a fun, unique way. You can try experimenting with different colors, shapes, prints, sizes and textures. Buy a set that’s already together or try and DIY with three or four you already have.

Here are some more bangle ideas. All bangles are from Forever 21, and most cost under $5. The only exception is the pink and red striped one on the far right, which is Kate Spade.

With this trend, pretty much anything goes: silver with gold, wood with metal or plastic, etc. So go crazy! Wear your bangles with a plain black or white tank top and jeans or a black dress. If you want a more colorful outfit, match your top or pants to one of the colors represented on your arm and keep the other items in your outfit neutral.

Just remember, bangles make a statement on their own, so keep the rest of your outfit simple for a classic, glam look. But feel free to pile on more jewelry – more is more in that category this spring. Just make sure the colors complement each other.

Cocktail rings add elegance and glamour to any ensemble. Celebs like Catherine Heigl and Jamie Lynn Sigler rock them on the red carpet (above), but you don’t need a formal event to show off your bling. Cocktail rings can make a simple outfit, like a sweater with jeans and heels, pop as well.

According to WiseGeek.com, cocktail rings became popular during US prohibition. At cocktail parties, they flaunted the fact that women were drinking illegally (but fashionably). Prohibition is no longer in effect (thank GOD), but big, bold cocktail rings are still in style. And we are grateful.

For most rings, the bigger the stone the better. You want to draw attention to it! However, to keep it from looking ridiculous if you have small hands, search for rings that don’t extend any farther than the bottom of your knuckle. And while most people wear cocktail rings on their right ring finger, they look chic when worn on your index finger, too.

Anyway, I recently noticed that jewlery designers are really embracing the animale love — seriously, it’s the call of the wild.

Monkeys, horses, birds, snakes, owls and cats are now wraping aroung wrists, hanging from necks and dominating finger-wear. Not gonna lie, I’m a fan and I’ve found some hot (not to mention adorable) pieces at decent prices.
