Whether you’re new to yoga or an old pro, nothing makes you want to get up and get your Om on like a cute yoga outfit!
There are some seriously stellar yoga duds out there these days: functional, comfortable, and adorable. How awesome is it to not lug around your workout clothes, because they’re cute enough to wear out and about for the rest of your day? And no more excuses for skipping out on yoga class; when you’re wearing your clothes, you can’t forget to bring em along.
If you’re as dedicated to comfort as I am, you’ll be thrilled to have some pieces you can throw on still be cute. Because, let’s be honest, the paint on my favorite sweatpants has never kept me from wearing them in public regardless of how awful they look. And for a yoga class? Well, they just don’t work.
My favorite yoga goods are below, but I’m always on the lookout for fabulous new fitness finds. If you’ve got some I don’t, let me know!
Lululemon: If you’ve been anywhere near a yoga studio recently, you’ve seen a Lululemon logo. This brand has the definition of a cult following. People are obsessed with it, and for good reason. They have a bazillion styles of bras, tops, pants, shorts, anything you need, and all in pretty colors and flattering cuts. I love love love this polka dot number. No shlumpy workout clothes here! They use top quality fabrics that wick away moisture, strategically placed mesh to keep you cool, and you can totally wear them around all day without looking like you’re on your way to work out! As a bonus, they’ll hem any pants for free, so everything will fit you like a dream. Read More »

It’s that time of the week when giant sites like Gawker, Jezebel, and Perez send a shout out!! to their sponsors in a witty-but-yet-still-whorish way. After reading plug after obvious plug, we started to feel a little left out, so we’re gonna do it too.
A big OMG THANK YOU FOR KEEPING US ALIVE THIS WEEK to the following things:
* That House Vodka I Always Drink When I Go Out Because I’m Too Cheap To Drink Anything Else * Unsucky Episodes Of Saturday Night Live * Dunkin Donuts Employees Who Charge Me For A Small Coffee Instead Of The Medium I Actually Ordered * Miniature Chocolate Bars That Taste Better When Frozen *Lululemon Groove pants * Pillsbury Break and Bake Sugar Cookies (with the little Ghosts inside!) * Arrested Development on DVD *

I had seen the little symbol before: some weird upside-down horseshoe in a circle. My yoga instructor had even referenced them in the middle of class.
“Grab your legs, ladies. And don’t worry about stretching out those lululemons.”
I just never made any sort of connection. Lululemon? Is that some new way to refer to the va-jay-jay?
And then my sister in law brought me up to speed. Lululemon was a brand of workout apparel. The “best workout clothes around,” according to her; not to mention “super cute.”
“Lauren, they are seriously amazing,” she told me. “They are totally worth the money.”
So, when I was shopping with my mom this weekend and came across a brand new lululemon store, I decided to pop in and see what all the fuss was about. I sat my mom down in a chair and began sifting through the infamous black pants stacked neatly in little bamboo cubes.
I pulled out a pair labeled “tall;” simple black with some cute black diamond stitching at the top. They looked nice. Felt nice too. And then I saw the price tag. Read More »
