I know you guys have been waiting for another tutorial, and it’s finally here! I had a cocktail party this weekend and usually, I do a super dark smokey eye. This time I wanted to do something different, so I went with a black and gold look that I think turned out fabulously.
And the best part is, it takes under 10 minutes to do! You can’t beat that (especially when you got pre-partying to do)!
I honestly don’t have the time to spend 20 minutes doing my makeup, so I’ve been working on ways to save time. I do my whole face and hair in less than fifteen minutes for class (yes, really), and I figured I should share how I work with you all. I think this look is perfect for the holidays and you could definitely play with a variety of gold color combos. Read More »

The leaves and your wardrobe are beginning to change, and that means your makeup should, too! While there are a lot of ways you can amp up your makeup style for each season, I’ve got a few crucial changes you should make when going from summer to fall.
These aren’t big changes, but they’re important! Just like fashion, makeup has seasonal rules and in this week’s video, I’m gonna clue you in on all of them.

A few weeks ago I talked about Eye Candy Coolers, small cooling pads that help decrease puffiness under your eyes. Well, this week I wanted to keep with the theme (because if there’s one thing we college ladies have in common it’s a serious lack of rest) and talk about how to conceal dark circles! A lot of you have been asking me about this, and it’s finally here! I personally don’t deal with this on a regular basis (I know, I’m blessed), but when I’m out too late or I’m studying until all hours of the night, I do end up looking much worse for the wear.
Luckily, it’s an easy fix.
How, you ask? Just use concealer! But not just any concealer. Picking the right one is important, so I’m sharing what I use. I’ve also got a few tips on how to distract people from looking at your circles (even though they probably don’t notice ‘em anyway). So if you’re embarrassed by your raccoon eyes, this is the video is for you.
And if you are a chronic sufferer of dark circles, please leave your own tips below! Read More »

Many of you have asked me how to get your makeup to last all day. This has been one of my own questions for a long time, but with one product, I figured it out. I’ve talked to you all about primers, which help at lot. However, what really makes it stick is a setting powder.
I’ve tried products from Maybelline, Covergirl, Neutrogena…you name it. Nothing even comes close to matching up with Make Up For Ever’s HD High Definition Powder (Sephora, $30). Yes, $30 is pricey for some powder. But this isn’t just any powder. This literally keeps your makeup on ALL. DAY. LONG!
$30 is nothing for what this little lady can do.

Last week I held a little contest in honor of my 50th (!!) vid, rewarding the winner with a personalized video to be aired on CC Beauty Live. I was hoping for more entries, but we did get a lot of good video ideas! I did a random number generator anyway and it picked a winner.
And that winner is…
Ashley!
Ashley said, “I was hoping you could do a video about the best way to add angles to a really round face.”
Well Ashley, this is known as contouring in the makeup world and it’s actually really easy to do! I usually only contour my face for photo shoots, but for girls with round faces it’s an easy everyday trick. And you can use products you probably already have!
I want to thank everyone for entering, and I will be taking all of your suggestions for future videos so keep watching every week!
Sometimes daytime makeup can get boring. And sometimes daytime in general (like when you’re at a dull internship) can get really, really boring. And that is when it’s time to make a change (hello, Michael Jackson reference) and add a little more oomph to your look. But is it possible to go a little bolder on your eyes without crossing into “going out makeup” territory? Yes! It’s called the daytime smokey eye and I’m going to show you how it’s done.
You can do it with any colors you want, but I’m going with some beautiful neutral shades.
Before you watch, though, can we just talk about how it’s been a year since we started CC Beauty Live? I can’t either! This has been such a great experience and I want to give something back to you all for your loyal viewership. So watch the video (all the way to the end!) for my surprise!

Finally, it’s time for bright eye makeup to liven up your evenings! In the summer, it instantly becomes more acceptable to wear colors other than black or gray at night. I don’t know why, but so it is (OMG, too. much. Pretty Wild).
While seasons never stop me from wearing whatever makeup I please, it may stop some of you. So if you’ve yet to tackle the vibrant summer night eye, let me help. Bright eye makeup is one of my favorite things, and I hope after this video it will be one of yours too!
