I love black eyeliner and white eye shadow, but I particularly love them together. I was on Pinterest the other day setting up my “CC Beauty Live Inspiration” board, follow me and CollegeCandy and you can pin stuff at us! I came across the photo above, which looked super easy and seemed like the perfect winter eye look. Winter tends to get people down, and we all act a little more sluggish and sleepy. I’m sure it has nothing to do with the immense intake of hot chocolate and sitting by the fire. Nope, not a bit. Anyway, this look is a really quick and easy way to brighten up your eyes. It’s great for day or night, so I wanted to show you all how to do it with a little addition on my end. Plus this is the perfect look since today is New Year’s Day, and you want something to make you look more awake and less hungover. Happy New Year!

This year has been huge for CC Beauty Live, thanks to you all! We’ve done a lot of cool beauty tutorials, and there’s even more awesome stuff heading your way in the new year. We’ve done product reviews and DIYs, and I’ve tested out more face washes than you can imagine. I’ve dyed my hair at least five times this year, which reminds me I have a really exciting hair dying tutorial coming up next year. We hit our 100th episode mark with a fabulous giveaway, and we learned that men’s razors are kind of great. I’m so glad I’ve been able to help you all with your beauty questions and issues, and I can’t wait to keep it going.
There are more smokey eyes to be done and more hairstyles to try, but let’s take a look back at some of your favorite CC Beauty Live episodes…
Bad news: final exams are almost upon us. Life is about to get even more stressful than it has been, so let me be an aid to your procrastination tactics. Everyone tends to let themselves go during dead week and finals, but let’s try taking care of ourselves a little bit. You’re going to be bopping around from library to exam to bed to coffee shop, and it’s difficult to look good when you’re cracked out on caffeine and can’t even figure out which notebook you need. No fear, I’ve got some super quick exam survival makeup tips. I only use the basics during exams, and that’s really all you need. Read More »
Just because October, which is National Breast Cancer Awareness month, is coming to and end doesn’t mean that breast cancer awareness is. I think awareness months are fantastic, but people often forget the cause after the month is over. That shouldn’t happen. There are still going to be women (and men) diagnosed starting November 1, and we need to do our best to keep that in mind. Check yourselves, make sure your girlfriends check themselves. And if you do notice that something is wrong, see your doctor.
It’s been a while since we talked about blush, and most of mine are pink so it seems fitting for the end of Breast Cancer Awareness month. Watch below for how to apply liquid and powder blush!

When I go to class at 8 a.m. wearing no makeup, I don’t look good. It’s not fair that some celebrities look amazing even without makeup. They get to be a celebrity!
Why do they get to look good with no makeup on?? I’m so jealous. And I want you to be jealous too. So here, just take a look.
As you all know, I get the opportunity to try out a lot of products from well known brands. My favorite thing though is testing out small, independent brands that are trying to take on high-end, well known ones. When Joanne contacted me about trying Painted Earth, I was so excited! Independent brands are really special and don’t just think of customers as dollar signs. They care about your well-being and want their products to help you.
I cannot speak highly enough of this brand. Every single product I tested, I fell in love with. I use Painted Earth every day now because it’s just that good. Although priced like a high-end brand, it pretty much surpasses the quality level. Plus, you can order cheaper sample sizes (which are still a good size) of most of the products. I tested out a lot, but in this video I highlight some of my favorite things. Read More »
Sadly, summer is almost over. I know you don’t want to hear it, but someone had to say it. School will be back in session soon, which means some of my favorite makeup tips and tricks are getting packed up. There are a lot of things that you can get away with in the summertime, and that rule applies to makeup and hair too. Summer is all about being fun and carefree, so I like my looks to reflect that.
However, when I go back to school I try to be more studious and natural. You don’t have to put up your bright looks, but it’s kind of an unspoken rule that happens. In this video, I’ve gone over some little things that you only have a few weeks left to rock so make me proud and do them all. Maybe even at the same time if you’re adventurous! Read More »
Obviously, summer is the perfect time to go all J. Lo and be a bronzed goddess. It’s easy to look good with dewy, sun kissed skin. But it’s not always so easy to achieve said look. With the wrong bronzer application, you’ll look like Snooki. With too much dew, you’ll look like an oil slick. So where’s the in between? I just happen to know. And I love you all so much that I’m going to share it with you.
One of my tricks to bronzer is to make sure you’re not going matte. I like my skin to be matte most of the time, but if I’m using bronzer I keep it fresh, yo. For a bronzed look, I say go with a tinted moisturizer and a spritz of water. It gives you a very “I just came off the beach” feel. That being said, I’ve been using SUPER’s Sun Kissed tinted moisturizer with SPF 25 (safe and pretty!) which can be found at Sephora ($42). It’s pricey, but so great if you have dry or normal skin. For us oily girls, I wouldn’t go near it without a primer and finishing powder. But I love it anyway. And it has lots of healthy stuff in it that works wonders for your skin. Read More »
Summer is the best time of year. There are virtually no responsibilities (unless you’re stuck with classes or work), it’s always time for a margarita, the beach is calling your name and there are tons of hot, shirtless guys. What’s not to love? Oh yeah, the billion degree heat and the humidity! While you can cool off with the beverage of your choosing, your makeup probably won’t last past noon if you’re out and about. Oh cat eyes. We’ve seen you on everybody. We have seen you be too drastic on Jerseylicious and too sexy on Angelina. But what we aren’t seeing a lot of is the everyday cat eye. Which is weird because I consider the daytime cat eye to be a huge staple in my beauty routine. I love a cat eye almost as much as I love coffee, and that is a lot my friends. I’m so used to doing cat eyes that I forget it can be tricky to master.
Since you’ve all been requesting it, I wrangled up my favorite ways to achieve a more subtle, wearable cat eye. I’m talking you through it so hopefully you’ll be able to rock it in no time! It’s more about patience than anything else, especially if you’re using a liquid liner. I like to stick with more simple tactics. Just remember not to go too crazy and drag that wing out too far. It’s not Halloween quite yet.
I want to give another thanks to everyone supporting Alabama, we still need help but I also want to encourage you to support the other areas that have been affected. Joplin, MO as well as areas in Arkansas and Oklahoma have recently been hit pretty hard so please keep these areas in your thoughts and prayers! Click here to see the drop off locations in your state if you have donations for the tornado relief! Your support is much appreciated!
