Anne Hathaway stepped out in London last night, sporting a brand new super short haircut. Apparently, the pixie cut is for a role. And that’s a good thing, because Anne doesn’t look to happy about it. In all the photos, she’s clutching her head in a very weird way. So either she’s sprouting a unicorn horn (as guessed by CC Editor Alex), or she’s really not feeling her new ‘do.

New couple alert! Rumors have been buzzing around that Jason Segel and Michelle Williams are dating. They have been spotted out and about on multiple occasions, generally looking very relaxed and happy. Jason Segel has even been spotted playing with Matilda, Michelle Williams’ (and Heath Ledger’s) daughter. We’re not sure exactly how this relationship began but the rumor mill has been saying the two actors met through mutual friends and different movies they’ve been in.
I never would have predicted this relationship but they are quite cute together. Can I have a funny boyfriend? Please? Read More »

Maybe I’m just cynical because it was just Valentine’s Day, but Michelle Williams is practically nude on the cover of February’s GQ. I’m totally aware this is a magazine for men, but jeez-a-lou, she’s literally only wearing a bra and panties. Don’t get me wrong, she looks great, and props to GQ for catching my attention, but I was surprised her wearing such little clothing. GQ’s other cover stories are, “The Clothes That Get A Man Noticed” and “The Lust List”. It seems that GQ’s main goal for February is to get their readers laid.

Michelle Williams has had a pretty great year. Between receiving oral from Ryan Gosling and being chosen to play Marilyn Monroe in a critically acclaimed, Oscar-nominated film, I’d say she’s probably one of the luckiest ladies in Hollywood. I’ve been a huge fan of hers since she was the tortured girl next door (not named Joey Potter) on Dawson’s Creek, and I love that she is getting so much recognition for her talent and beauty. [You may be wondering why, since I usually write about new releases, I have chosen to review Blue Valentine (which was released in late December most places) this week. Well, despite being out for a month, Blue Valentine remains a water cooler topic. The subject is no longer the MPAA’s original decision to give Blue Valentine an NC-17 rating (read my thoughts on that here), but instead it is Michelle Williams' nomination for Best Actress; more notably, it is her nomination compared to Ryan Gosling who did not receive a nomination for his performance. Aside from that, it is an Oscar-nominated film, which means that if you look hard enough, you can probably find a showing in your area.]
Blue Valentine is the story of a young couple in the process of falling into, and subsequently out of, love. The film masterfully goes back and forth between the two times, providing an amazing juxtaposition. Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams play the couple and they deserve so much credit for their work in this film. Their performances make the audience see a transformation, while only truly acting infatuation and whatever the opposite of infatuation is.
When I was debating whether or not to see the film, specifically to see it alone, my friend told me I should and had an interesting comment. He said, “It’s the kind of movie that you don’t want to talk about after.” I was sold. And now I know exactly what he was talking about. The film is beautifully shot, wonderfully acted, and perfectly depressing. Read More »

Can I get some Red Bull up in here? I’m majorly struggling right now. It’s like the crash that comes after eating a bag of Sour Patch Kids, only instead of sugar I was hopped up on sequins and cleavage and Brad Pitt’s sunglasses.
Yes, you know I’m talking about the glamour that was the Golden Globe’s Red Carpet.
Of course there are always lots of entertaining moments in the award show itself (Ricky Gervais was hosting, after all), but like most ladies with an eye for fashion, the true highlight of the show comes before it even starts. And last night’s show before the show did not disappoint. From the stunning shoes (I’m looking at your hidden feet, Olivia Wilde!) to the bright hues (word to your mother, Angelina) to the style doo doos (how else do you describe Christina Aguilera’s ‘fit?), the 2011 Golden Globes red carpet had me on the edge of my futon.
So after 3 hours of acceptance speeches during which I did some careful consideration (and drank a few glasses of Franzia), I bring you the best dressed, worst dressed, most WTF dressed and, just for fun, the sexiest men of the 2011 Golden Globes.
Enjoy. Read More »
