Dear SATC gods:
We city dwellers and big-city hopefuls would greatly appreciate it if you didn’t create another Sex & The City movie. Ever heard the term “three’s a crowd?” Yeah, well, however cliché it may sound, it’s incredibly appropriate for your dreams of a potentially disastrous third movie. So, since we’ve been hearing rumors that it’s a possibility, we thought it was a good time to sit down and talk.
Let me begin by saying: I am a huge SATC fan. I am Carrie, Charlotte, Samantha and Miranda all balled into one and my obsession with their extravagant vacays, condo-sized closets and flagrantly glam’d up lifestyles is downright dangerous. Yet I think I speak for many SATC fans when I say that you have fulfilled your duty — let the six seasons and two movies live on. Where else could you possibly go with the storyline?
Carrie & Mr. Big are finally married, and no, we don’t see any kids in the future. Imagine Carrie Bradshaw with kids! Oh that’s right, you can’t.
Miranda & Steve have finally settled their differences and they are happy together. A third installment to the SATC series would only take us on another Stiranda (that’s when Steve and Miranda’s relationship gets all stirred up. It makes sense, just go with it. ) rollercoaster that we’re not willing to ride.

I spent way too much time in high school watching and rewatching Sex and the City. Unlike everything else on TV these women seemed so real, so fun, and so open to dropping major dough on brunch. Being young and impressionable, I assumed the fabulous foursome was living the life I’d live one day. Little did I know, freelance writers don’t own 50 pairs of Jimmy Choos and most women don’t have sexy men lining up outside their posh New York City pads.
Yeah, naive mind. totally. blown.
But now that the show is back on TV and I’m watching reruns daily, I realize that while Carrie, Charlotte, Samantha and Miranda’s sex lives weren’t totally realistic, they can teach us a few important things about sex. So even though I cringe at awkward love scenes on television and even though I made fun of the disaster that was the sequel, I’ve realized I can actually take a few tips from our four favorite girls on “Sex and the City.” Read More »

Remember that Sex and the City episode when Miranda meets that guy at a Weight Watchers meeting? They head back to her place and get it on, but when he comes back up from downtown for a little smoochy smoochy, his face looks like it’s been dipped in donut glaze.
Vomit.
It was that episode that first instilled fear in me of kissing after a little downtown action. The whole after-oral makeout sesh grosses. me. out. But I also know many girls who will unleash the fury on their men if they don’t get a little thank you kiss when their (difficult…they don’t call it a job for nothing, right?) work is done.
Where do guys stand on this issue? We asked one… Read More »

The shoes! The hair! The clothes! (and did I mention the shoes?)
Obviously the fashion/hair/bags of the Sex and The City movie were more than noteworthy (I am still drooling over those royal blue Manolo’s). But more blogworthy?
The fashion (or lack thereof) of SATC moviegoers all weekend long.
From the metallic pumps to the teased out hair (yes apparently, some girls still do that) Girls, and a few boys, armed with their favorite girls and favorite bag were decked out in their Carrie Bradshaw best. Girls waited in line for four hours, in four inch stilletto’s (my feet hurt just thinking about it) for the long awaited glimpse of their favorite HBO gal pals.
Now don’t get me wrong, I too wish my closet was outfitted with Carrie’s Louboutins or Charlotte’s Chanel collection– but on a hot, humid Saturday afternoon- answer me this: Why are you wearing a black minidress, red lipstick and clip-in hair extensions to sit in a cold dark theater? Read More »
