Okay, so maybe I’m jumping the gun here a little bit, but I am SO effing unbelievably ready for summertime! I am itching to return all my boring, barely cracked textbooks to the book store to receive less than 10% what I paid for them and bubble in the last circle on my Scantron before my brain explodes with information I will probably not remember in a week.
Finals are killer and, really, the only thing keeping me going right now, besides multiple grande caramel frappucinnos, is imagining that in a few weeks I will be dreamily grillin’ poolside while sipping strawberry margaritas and donning sparkly flip flops.
So, even if summer is a miniature blip on your radar right now, I hope this playlist of chill tunes will keep you sane. Seriously ladies, summer is so close I can almost feel the peeling, dry skin on my uber pasty shoulders. Oh summer, you can’t come soon enough.
Summertime..and the livin’s easy at CC. Listen here.

Okay, it’s my spring break and let me just say this: all of you living in NYC have absolutely no clue how fabulous your city is compared to the rest of the world. (Okay, actually, you probably do.)
But anyway, I’m spending my spring break in (you guessed it!) nowhere else but the Big Apple. So, to extend a big THANK YOU! to this city from saving me from what could have been a week of beer pong in my mom’s basement (ugh!), I created a playlist in its honor. Seriously – who knew there were so many damn songs about New York? Obviously, I’m not the only one in love.
And if you’re a little jealous that I’m chillin’ in Greenwich Village and you’re chillin’ on your smelly roommates futon, it’s okay. Check out the playlist here and just pretend.

Ah, junior year. I remember it like it was yesterday. Actually, the amount of alcohol I’ve consumed over the last four years has impaired my memory quite significantly. But I do remember that things were simpler. My friends were only a neighborhood away, my parents paid for everything (besides the bottles of Jose Cuervo I could literally chug from!), and I didn’t have to worry about landlords, electric bills or term papers.
I was working a job, getting straight A’s and somehow managed to go clubbing every.single.weekend. without my parents finding out.
When it came to music, I pretty much only listened to whatever was on the radio when I was driving around with my friends. And Bright Eyes. I always listened to Bright Eyes. And, because of my addiction to the night life – even though I couldn’t even legally drink yet – I fell in love with the Hot 100 charts on Billboard.com. I would peruse the latest additions and then download them with Napster.
Lucky for me, Billboard keeps all their Hot 100 charts online. So, I was actually able to look back and view the top songs from five years ago (wow, that seems like a really big number) when I was a wee 17 year old.
Junior year – of high school and college – has probably proved to be the most exciting. You’re finally comfortable where you are, and adult-like things like graduation are but a miniature blip on your radar. (You’re mostly worried about what you’re gonna wear to that killer house party you are going to go to this weekend). Perfection.
Anyway, let’s take a trip down memory lane to my original junior year here. Good times.

I decided that this V-day, I’m going to try something new. Well, two new things, actually.
1. I’m going to spend it single.
2. I’m going to ENJOY it.
I’m going to spend my day imagining how absolutely fantastic and amazing it will be when I finally do find someone to love. Or at least someone I can stand for more than two consecutive months.
So, in keeping with this, I decided to make a playlist with all my favorite love songs (however offbeat and/or cheesy they may be). I’m not gonna spend my Thursday-before-V-Day getting wasted and depressed about all the lovey-dovey bullsh*t I’m going to have to put up with from my friends and their boyfriends the whole weekend. Nope, not me.
Instead, I’m going to sip red wine with my other single lady friends and attempt to manifest my perfect man…who will hopefully come strutting into my life sometime between tonight and Saturday morning.
Enjoy all the sappy goodness here!

It’s 2009. In an attempt to play it safe, I only made three, fairly simple New Years resolutions: 1) Take one picture every day 2) Implement the word “dig” into my vocabulary and 3) Stay. away. from. douchebags and enjoy being single!
So far, I’ve broken all but one. So, I created this mix so with the intention that listening to it with my girls before I hit the bars this weekend will prevent me from going home with any random loser I might meet (or any douchebag-y ex-boyfriends I might run into).
So I invite all of you to celebrate being single/hating whatever loser lasted screwed you over with this classic Single Ladies/Girl Power pregame playlist.

Usually when somebody says “back to the grind,” it’s a pretty negative thing. But here @ CC, we try to focus on the alternative meaning of “grind.” Yeah, you’re probably back in classes – which means awful roommates, 10-page papers & dorm food, but it also means the night life & all the theme parties, margarita nights & bar-hopping equated with college.
So, this week we’ve provided you with some jams to get you back in your “grind.” Some are fast, some are slow, but they’re all sure to take your mind off whatever you really should be thinking about this weekend. Enjoy, ladies! Read More »

There’s a party tonight that you’ve been dying to go to, but your energy level is way low. You can’t even get up to find pants.
Maybe because you haven’t stopping partying for the past 3 days? It’s OK – it’s Welcome Week.
But it’s not OK, because even that Red Bull you chugged isn’t working. And you really wanna go out.
The solution? Music, duh.
Invite a few of your girl friends over to help ramp up your partying spirit: throw back a few cocktails, put on your party face, and listen to this awesome mix. If this doesn’t get you goin‘, get back into bed. You are dunzo for the week. Read More »
