Her Life as Liz – An Interview with Liz Lee

As if last season wasn’t epic enough, get ready for season two of MTV’s hit show ‘My Life as Liz’ with the coolest geek you’ll ever meet— Liz Lee. Now that she’s left the nest and traveled clear to the other side of the country (Texas to NYC) to pursue her dream of going to art school, her world has completely turned upside-down.  From juggling boys (if only we could choose between guys are cute as Bryson and Louis) to trying to survive in the Big Apple, I was lucky enough to get the inside scoop on it all.  And now, so can you.

How did you first get involved with the show?
Well, they were shooting for this other show, which was a spin off of a show called The Paper about a high school newspaper and their journalism program, and I was in a broadcast journalism program that they were interested in shooting. They interviewed me and we did some shoots and it just kind of morphed into My Life as Liz.

I was wondering how that came about, that’s really cool. What made you want to share your life and all of the experiences that you had with pretty much everyone in the world?
I guess I thought it’d be fun.  I kind of wanted to show the alternative-nerd point of view that I hadn’t seen on MTV in a long time so I was really excited that they even wanted to do that. Read More »

House of Jazmin: Where’s The Dramz?

jazmin ep 1

I’ll be honest – if I didn’t read CollegeCandy, I never would have known about MTV’s new show, House of Jazmin. I’d like to say it’s because I don’t bother with the dribble on MTV, but the real reason is because I get so engrossed in the drama on MTV shows that I am forced to fast-forward straight through the commercials and miss everything that is comin’ up.

So I watched this new show, AKA MTV’s answer to the loss of Lauren Conrad. MTV’s attempt at another show that might possibly gross as much money for the network as The Hills. MTV’s response to people who complained about how scripted/fake/annoying The Hills is.

And what did we get?
A real girl who is driven and talented and adorable.

And boring! Read More »

PDADD (Puff Daddy Against Drunk Driving)

2084669594_f4626facf5.jpgGood news! The roads are safe again. No more drunken Nicole Richie cruising the Pacific Coast Highway the wrong way. I bet you think it’s because she’s a mom now and, therefore, is either, A) too responsible and motherly to do that, or B) too busy changing diapers to go out and party.

Guess again.

I mean, I guess that could have something to do with it. But what if I told you that the streets – and everyone walking/driving on ‘em – were also safe from Paris, Britney and Lohan? I know, I know; when pigs fly. Or, perhaps, when P-Diddy decides to take on yet another business venture.

Obviously, his clothing line/record company/MTV show/hunt for an assistant/being a (Puff) daddy aren’t enough for the mogul; Mr. Combs has now decided to add a transportation company to the mix. And not just any transportation company – this one is focused solely on getting (rich and famous) people home from the bar. Read More »
