Along with bold, bright bags and loose-fitting tops, tribal-themed accessories and clothing, particularly Aztec-inspired items, are going to be everywhere this spring. Personally, I’m a big fan of this trend in jewelry – the bright colors and interesting patterns and shapes create bold statement pieces that are as fun to wear as they are to look at.
These styles look particularly great with the bright hues and breezy shapes of summer clothing, but you might want to think about starting to incorporate some pieces now. Many stores are already carrying great tribal-themed jewelry, and it’s just the pick-me-up our wardrobes need as we suffer through another 6 weeks of the dull grays and blacks of winter-wear. Even more, you can get a lot of it for less than $20, like all the pieces shown here! Read More »

[When moving into either a dorm or an off-campus apartment, your wardrobe will face two major challenges: 1. A major lack of funding (to add more to it), and 2. A major lack of storage space (for all the crap you've got). For these two reasons, maximizing what you already own becomes essential. That's why you need to learn to Shop Your Closet. Each week, I’ll show you how to wear 1 item 3 ways – with the stuff you most likely already own! – to get the most out of your purchases.]
I’m a huge fan of dresses. They’re feminine, comfortable and instantly make you dressed up, even if you just rolled out of bed. But despite my dress devotion, the colder it gets outside, the less inclined I am to actually wear one. Or at least, that’s how it used to be. Since I learned the art of layering, suddenly almost everything (chunky sweaters are the exception – there’s no way those can be worn in the middle of summer) in my wardrobe can be worn through all four seasons.
Especially the strapless dress.
It’s one of the easiest, most versatile dress styles to layer. Because you don’t have to worry about the awkward layering of different necklines, it’s easy to toss a shirt underneath. And like every other dress in your closet, throwing a cardigan or blazer over top is quick and chic. The other thing I like is that a lot of strapless dresses have more structure to them (in order to hold them up!) which means you can still show off your figure despite being completely covered up and cozy. Forget wearing your heart on your sleeve – why not wear your vulva around your neck?
Yes, one “artist” is now making that possible by taking an exact replica of your lady parts and turning them into one of these beauties. No need to skimp on the underwear anymore, ladies. Now you need only slip one of these over your head to flash everyone your Britney.
Gag.

Most guys we know stay up late dreaming of the day they might end up in a giant orgy with beautiful women. We, however, lie awake at night dreaming of a closet full of beautiful clothes. To the left, a wall of shoes. To the right, shelf upon shelf of delicately handcrafted bags organized by color and size.
Sigh.
We all have our fantasies.
Since guys can turn to the interwebs to get their daily fantasy fix, we thought you should, too! So, we’re bringing you some fashion porn. The best of the best in all things fashionable. Sure, it may be out of your price range, but it’s a fantasy, so live it up in all its delicious glory.
The perfect accessories can entirely make an outfit. They can spice up a basic t-shirt and jean combo, or put the finishing touch on your hot going-out dress. One of the most basic ways to accessorize an outfit (even that stuff that’s already in your closet!) is with a necklace. A quirky necklace, worn with the simplest of outfits can be a conversation starter; a more glamorous necklace, can work to complete an otherwise unfinished look.
There are a bazillion options out there for necklaces, no matter how much moolah you have to shell out. You could splurge and find the perfect signature piece to wear everyday, buy multiples to go with your multitude of outfits, or find that unique, one-of-a-kind necklace from Etsy. Whatever you choose to do, there is a necklace (or many!) out there for everyone. Read More »

While there is nothing better than hanging some brand new clothes into you over-stuffed closet, we’re in a recession and spending your money on another pair of jeans is just a waste. You’ve got plenty to work with already, and I’m here to show you how to do so in a fun, new and fashionable way.
Last week I showed you how to work a sundress and this week I’m going to dazzle you with fun new ways to wear all those necklaces you have hanging around (or, more likely, knotted together in a clump on your desk).
Long necklaces, like these from J. Crew, can add glamour to any basic look: a cardigan and tank, a dress, even a pantsuit (if, you know, you’re going for the Hilary Clinton look…)! But there are several other uses for long necklaces, as well. You just have to think outside the box a little bit.
1. Wrapped around a scarf.
To get this look, take a long, cotton scarf and fold it into a triangle. Next, roll the scarf so that it becomes one long, thin rope. Take your sparkly necklace and wind it around the scarf. Tie the ends of the scarf together and secure the necklace clasp as well. Read More »

Awards season is in full swing, which has got me drooling over all those leading ladies’ gorgeous gowns and dresses. Of course, I don’t have a few thousand spare bucks lying around to buy their specific pieces, but for a mere fraction of the price I, too, can look stunning and glamorous for that upcoming Oscar party, hot Valentine’s date, or ladies’ night out. I found this entire ensemble at Forever 21 for under $75. Read More »

[Every week, CC and John will bring you some of the wierdest, funniest, saddest things he hears on his college campus. Join the Overheard revolution! Leave your own overheard convos in the comments.]
“Is that your phone?”
“Yeah.”
“You have a pink phone?”
“Mmhm.”
“Is it, like, your girlfriend’s phone?”"
“Nope.”
“Seriously?”
“Yup.”
Found in a dining hall, on a piece of paper shoved into a napkin dispenser:
“Students! Rise up! Class riot today, 3:00 in the courtyard. Refreshments will be served.”
Two in the morning – a pair of legs is poking out of a broken window. Two guys in striped hipster hoodies are standing nearby, craning their necks to look in.
“No, no,” say the legs. “This isn’t going to work. I’ll still be locked out, I’ll just be locked out inside.”
Ten or so sweaty people in t-shirts and tank tops are clustered around a cooler. One guy lifts the top off the cooler and dumps some colored powder in.
“What was that?” asks one, confused.
“Nothing,” says the dumper. “Just drink the Kool-aid.”
There’s a commotion outside, in the hallway. I poke my head out. A man is sprinting down the hallway with his sweater unzipped, a rhinestone necklace bouncing on his exposed chest hair, and his mouth wrapped tightly around a beer bottle. Read More »
