I always struggled in deciding which boy band I loved more: ‘N Sync or the Backstreet Boys. ‘N Sync’s No String Attached tour was the first concert I ever attended and they had songs you could really dance to. But the Backstreet Boys also had such great, catchy ballads. Such a dilemma. Today, January 28, is both Joey Fatone and Nick Carter’s birthday.
In honor of the aging of these two boy band members, CollegeCandy is hosting a showdown to finally determine the best boy band. Read More »
My obsession with Aaron Carter stems back to my early middle schools days… and maybe a year or two of high school if I’m being honest. I went to all of his concerts, saw him in Seussical – The Musical not once, not twice, but three times, and followed his and Hilary Duff’s relationship religiously. The day he guest starred on “Lizzie McGuire” was maybe the first time I really knew what love was.
But then one day my beloved Aaron decided to take to drugs, and my delusions of perfection were busted. He divorced his parents, got engaged to a Playboy model for all of two seconds and generally sucked all around. I let my love for AC fall by the wayside.
Now Aaron is back in the spotlight and I’m torn. The last I saw him, Aaron had left me broken-hearted and disappointed. Can he dance his way back into my heart?
Love it
Aaron and his partner, Karina Smirnoff, kicked off the season premiere of “Dancing with the Stars,” and boy was he looking good. His Cha-Cha number was absolutely stunning. I would go as far as to say, Aaron may be the new Lord of the Dance.
All the bad press surrounding Aaron and the Carter family seems to be forgotten, and apparently, he doesn’t drink anymore! That’s good. Keep yourself out of trouble, Aaron. We know you’ve had problems with gateway drugs in the past. In fact, we saw it live (well, pre-recorded) on E!
I still know all the words to “That’s How I Beat Shaq” and would give anything for Aaron to do a remake of that classic hit. He was a budding pop-star with a bright future. Since his downfall he has cleaned up his act, and I think he deserves another chance.
And between you and me, I secretly hope Aaron Googles his own name, sees this post and contacts me in hopes of regaining a neglected fan. Fingers crossed! Read More »

Whenever we need to make a difficult decision, we make a list. You know, like when we were choosing a school, when we were choosing a date to the first sorority date party, or when we weren’t sure which we loved more: our Prada backpack or our Skechers.
So when are constantly faced with the awful decision of which D-List celebrity is more annoying, we make a list. Yes, this is a decision we feel the need to make on a weekly basis; we have a lot of time on our hands.
Moving on.
This week’s showdown is between none other than our two favoritest of celeretards: Paris Hilton and Heidi Montag. Who will take the d-bag cake? It’s a really difficult decision to make, so let’s break it down. Read More »

I spent the better part of high school going to Backstreet Boys concerts. I made posters, convinced my mom to buy me hideous and overpriced concert gear (including a shimmery jean jacket with a studded gold “Backstreet Boys” on the back that I just HAD to have… I kid you not). I was smitten. I would daydream in Algebra class that they would just swoop into my school and serenade me (never happened), or that I would sit front row at their concerts (happened a few times thanks to my knack for sneaking up).
And while I grew up, and my musical repertoire changed, I have always held a soft spot for the Backstreet Boys. Maybe it’s that sweet pang of nostalgia, but the Boys gave me an escape, they started my love affair with music, and it would only be fair to admit that they even, in a way, helped start me on my career path in music, journalism and TV. Oh and their music is undeniably catchy.
So while people still give them flack and mainstream U.S. media doesn’t cover them nearly at all, there is no denying that the Backstreet Boys make you want to sing in your car. I’ve seen you (yes, YOU) at the bar belting out ‘I Want It That Way’ at 2am on Friday nights.
Their concerts are still packed with screaming girls, from 8-68. And it doesn’t hurt that despite losing a member, these Boys have only gotten sexier with age. Sounds too good to be true? Check out some footage CC shot at a BSB concert this past summer in Detroit: Read More »

Through the years, I’ve slept with a lot more people in my mind than I’ve slept with in the physical sense. Actually, the latter number would be zero, but that’s not the point. The point is…in my mind, I’ve been with some of Hollywood’s finest. And yeah, I’ve had my memorable moments, but let’s face it: if Indiana Jones forgets your name and is out of town 90% of the time, can you honestly say he’s boyfriend material?
Here’s the lowdown on all the hotties I’ve mentally massaged:
Indiana Jones: Indy makes his love much like you might describe him: rough and dirty. Holy cow, he sure is good in bed, but it’s a little weird that he never takes that fedora off. He also doesn’t seem to care much about protection (I think he fed me a line like, “Where do you think I’m going to get a condom? CVS?”), and he never calls in the morning… probably because he seems to think my name is “Veronica.”
Nick Carter: The baby face of the Backstreet Boys is pretty inexperienced, and it shows. When you’re sleeping with Nick, you smile because he’s just so darn cute, but there’s also a part of you that wants to hightail it out of there as soon as possible. Yeah, it always seems like a good idea at first, but most often I find myself snaking through the piles of video games to get out of his room at 5 in the morning. Read More »
