Secret santas and fruit cake — two simple holidays staples I consider pretty innocent and wholesome. But in last night’s episode of Nip/Tuck, they were anything but. Santa’s secrecy reached a new level and that cake had some serious scandal baked inside.
Let’s begin with the love triangle.
Julia, Christian and Sean were seemingly adorable with their litte secret santa tradition. But beyond who’s buying what for who (like it’s hard to figure out with 3 people), Julia and Christian were secretly falling in love, leaving poor, mid-life crisis Sean out in the cold.
I couldn’t believe it took him so long to figure things out. But I guess it was quite appropriate for him to realize the truth once they revealed their gifts to each other. Merry Christmas Sean. Although it seemed like he was willing to accept the circumstances, I doubt Sean will give Christian his blessing.
Side note: Was this episode all about Julia or what? Not only were two guys practically fighting over her, but Eden was out to get her with her homemade fruit cake.
Honestly, what in God’s name was this about? Read More »

Before I delve into how much oral activity went on last night (on the show of course), the beginning of Nip/Tuck was utterly horrifying. Dr. MacNamara’s new leading lady sh*t herself in his hot tub and was from that point referred to as “the sh*tter.”
Is it just me or does this girl seem way too unworthy of dating such a hot doctor? I don’t care that she used to be fat. I don’t mind that she has some intimacy issues. What bothers me is that her personality sucks. What does he see in her? Especially now that she’s literally sh*t all over him. Uh, so gross. I did however find all of the poop talk hilarious.
My prediction is that MacNamara dumps her and gets it on with Eden, lesbian Olivia’s overly sexual daughter, who’s hair is out of control. And side note: Is this chick for real? I mean what is she? A teen dominatrix? You’d think she were a tease, but I’m seriously doubt it. Read More »
It seems that the traditional standard of beauty is forever evolving into an impossible ideal. The natural female form has fallen victim to a fleeting trend. In today’s tabloids public figures seem to be plagued with the very same insecurities that their readers are struggling with at home. As a culture of excess and extremes, we hold vulnerabilities on a pedestal, fascinated with emaciated socialites and their whimsical journeys through anorexic rehab.
Some stars have ventured far beyond public eating disorders, even taking to plastic surgery to have photos permanently taken in the best possible light. Ashley Simpson, Kathy Griffin, Courtney Love, and even Howard Stern have confessed to going under the knife. Popular shows like Dr. 90210, Nip/Tuck, and MTV’s I Want A Famous Face thrive on graphically depicting the realities and results of augmentation. It seems that more than ever surgery has become an accepted solution to an epidemic of insecurity. Is it because of new innovations and advancements or has it become this seasons hottest new trend?
In 2005 11.5 million cosmetic surgical and non-surgical procedures were performed in the United States. Botox is of course the most popular, while liposuction is also frequently requested. Since 1997 the overall number of procedures has increased 444%. While our visions of plastic surgery were allotted to extremists like Joan Rivers or Pamela Anderson the more subtle and significant changes were slowly becoming more trendy than a Fendi purse. Once a taboo subject for those in the limelight to deny, society now applauds their new plastic look. Read More »
