While we’re all busy staying up until ridiculous hours of the night studying for finals and attempting to get some holiday shopping done at the same time, Hollywood has been… breaking up some of it’s cutest couples? At least it’s reassuring to know that while we’re stressing, celebs are always there to keep us entertained.

1. Zac and Vanessa call it quits. This might possibly be the most devastating breakup since Brad and Jen. Who didn’t love this adorable Disney couple? They stayed together for 4 years, survived Vanessa’s naked pics, the gay rumors surrounding Zac, and Megan Fox’s flirting – we thought they’d be together forever! And now I’m just confused… should I be upset that they’re over, or excited that Zac is single again? Because as much as I loved this couple, I mean… look at him.

2. Golden Globe nominations were announced! Awards season is upon us, and I can’t wait to bum out on the couch with some popcorn to see who wins what and who wears what! As predicted, the nominations were full of Inception, The Social Network, The Fighter, and Black Swan. I, of course, was ecstatic to see James Franco nominated for Best Actor. If you haven’t seen all of these, get ready to do some serious movie-watching so you’re not behind.

3. Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds are getting a divorce. It upsets me that two of the most beautiful people ever can’t even make it work. They were married for two years and were one of Hollywood’s most private couples – so private, in fact, that even friends were shocked by the split. The couple has released a statement saying, “While privacy isn’t expected, it’s certainly appreciated.” Hey, at least they understand this business.

4.  Miley fans are out of control crazy. Since Miley Cyrus’s “surprising” bong smoking video hit the Internet, everyone has been wondering not only why she was stupid enough to be video-taped doing it, but also… who had the brains to record it? Well, it’s now being reported that Anna Oliver, a friend of Miley’s and -GASP- Demi Lovato’s, was the one who allegedly taped the incident. Was it an elaborate plot of revenge or just innocent fun? We have no idea, but Miley fans are out for blood. No, seriously. They’ve been harassing Anna Oliver on Twitter since the news came out, even going as far as to create Twitters JUST to send her death threats. Beetches are crazy!

5. Mark Zuckerberg was named Time Magazine’s Person of the Year. Mark Zuckerberg is the world’s youngest billionaire who gives his money away to people who need it, he’s changed the way we interact, and oh yeah, he created Facebook. And considering I’ve never met a college student (or really anyone, for that matter) who can’t function if they’re not up-to-date with Facebook, this achievement is beyond huge. So yeah, I’d say he deserves this honor more than anyone today.

1. The Adams Family – I mean the Kardashians – took a really weird Christmas card picture. This is just weird. Forget the fact that there is nothing Christmasy at all about this – they don’t even look real. I literally had to do a double-take when I first saw it because I thought they were wax mannequins. Why are they wearing these ridiculous outfits for a Christmas card? And why are none of them even smiling? I’m just creeped out.

2. Mariah Carey and Nick Cannnon are having twins! Yay, the rumors were true – not one, but two little babies will be invading their lives soon! No matter how weird you may think this couple is (I can’t be the only one), this is still cute, and you can’t help but be happy for them.

3. Even more couples break up. Dexter stars Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter file for divorce (maybe playing siblings on the show was getting too weird?), and Nip/Tuck star Dylan Walsh is also divorcing his wife. Oh yeah, and Elizabeth Hurley and her husband are divorcing. Did I miss something? Is this divorce week?

4. Chelsea Handler pretty much confirmed she’s dating 50 Cent. She tweeted a photo of them in bed, and said, “I don’t know why anyone thinks I would ever date a rapper.” They may win the award for most random couple of 2010.

5. Gwyneth Paltrow is returning to Glee! While I never thought she’d be good on the show, she ended being pretty great. So all I have to say to this is, yay!

The holidays are over, winter break is in full swing (or completely over, for some of us) and we no longer have to rely on “MADE” re-runs to satiate our hunger for reality TV. But last night, I was reminded of the original, the raw and the murderous side of this sensational piece of show — because of a) Gina’s ‘suicide’ and b) Crazy Agent Colleen.

Ok so, Christian is officially a murderer. Although the whole screwing Gina off a high-rise building seemed unintentional, I can’t help but wonder if he kind of meant to shove her off the edge. She was making his life a living hell, so why wouldn’t he want to get rid of her?

However, when it came to telling his son Wilbur about her death, it became quite obvious that he was mourning. What I’m most curious about though, is whether or not the whole incident will come back to haunt him. Will he ever get caught?

And on to the bread and butter of this episode. Colleen Rose — who I must say looks strikingly similar to 90′s talk show host, Sally Jesse Raphael. Right? It’s creepy. Anyway, this woman is a piece of work. She seemed all super agent in the beginning, landing Sean the lead role in Hearts and Scalpels.

But then she became increasingly obsessive over Dr. Mac. And she clearly will not give him up without a serious fight. Exibit A: The incredibly horrific murder of Bob the CAA guy. Holy shit! I was clutching my blanket while watching this scene, but that was the moment I realized, Nip/Tuck is really bad to its old self.

Crazy Colleen is the new real deal villain and she’s definitely not striking once now that she’s back in Sean’s good graces. I cannot wait to see what she’ll do next.

In next week’s episode, we’re back to the kink with Kimber and Eden doing a little porn. I was wondering when that would happen. I mean, let’s be honest, those two are cut from the same mold.

Both lady’s comments made me wonder two things: (1) Are older men less capable of having casual sex? (2) Do all women really want to be taken care of/feel safe?

The Eden/Sean thing was inevitable even though I’d always thought he was too good a guy to do an 18 year-old. However, I was surprised to learn that he wanted more than just a physical relationship with Eden. After resisting her for so long, wouldn’t he want it to be more of a “wham, bam, thank ya m’am” kinda situation?

According to Eden “the sexpert”, older men can’t really do the whole casual sex thing; it seems they are more interested in real relationships and more susceptible to attachment. Not gonna lie, considering this gave me hope that I’ll one day find a mature, relationship-oriented guy. (Never did I ever expect to be enlightened by an 18 year-old tramp on a plastic surgery show.)

Then we have Julia. She really showed some serious strength in this episode. Not only was she the more calm and collected one in her lesbian love affair when the they got mugged, but she decided to buy a gun in order to stay safe. I was impressed… until she showed up at Christian’s door and practically begged him to not only have sex with her, but to “take care of her.”

Although she was so strong earlier in the episode, protecting her women and whatnot, she really wanted to feel safe … with a man. Honestly, I think most girls will admit that feeling a sense of safeness with their significant other is extremely appealing. I know I want to know that I am protected. Obviously, Olivia’s response to the mugging incident was quite a turn off.

One more thing. Can we talk about how Sean and Christian seem to be reversing roles a bit. Sean is becoming more sexual and scandelous, while Christian is acting more fatherly and compassionate. Are things going to continue this way? I’m very intrigued.

Not only is reality tv dominating networks worldwide, but now it’s also inching it’s way into actual tv shows — i.e. our dear Nip/Tuck.

Although I must admit last night’s episode was a nice switch up from the status quo with the “Plastic Fantastic” title and theme song (that was hilarious), I doubt I’d ever feel as much love for the show if it continued that way. The drama was just too forced and completely exaggerated. It had never been more apparent to me that reality tv thrives on creating conflict even if there may or may not have been any to begin with.

I mean, we have Olivia and Liz making a love connection, Christian spilling the beans to Julia, Julia flipping out at the two lesbos and begging the cameras not to capture her emotional breakdown, while Eden races in after escaping from rehab and finally gets Sean to kiss her and Christian plays the guy who just wants to “help out.” It was total madness, well more than usual anyway.

It would of been way over the top if Kimber and Matt stormed in crying that their baby is addicted to crystal meth.

The juiciest part of the episode was probably the whole Sean/Eden affair finally happening. We KNEW without a doubt that even Dr. Mac wasn’t strong enough to resist that young vixen. As displayed by next week’s previews, this whole situation is going to create some serious waves.

Will Julia realize she’s still not over Sean? Or is she just being a possessive ex like any semi-normal chick?

We shall see my friends. We shall see.

First we had the trainwrecks, Matt and Kimber living in a dump with their newborn baby, who might as well be smoking crystal meth too. Not to mention their brush with gay porn to make money to feed their habit, but I’ll get into that later.

Anyway, let the dissecting begin.

I am dying to know what will happen to Matt and Kimber’s baby. That poor thing may just cry itself to death. But I guess they aren’t completely terrible parents. I mean, they did bring her to the daycare center at the porn production studio. Um, seriously?

Since we’re on the topic of porn, Matt getting into the gay porn biz, is kind of hilarious. If I remember correctly, doesn’t he like to do guys? He may not have gone through with it this time, but I have a sneaking suspicion that he might consider it again since Kimber is now doing their drug dealer.

Now, on to Miss Eden. This bitch deserved to have her ass handed to her by Christian. Yes, he is so unbelievably shady and manipulative, but I really couldn’t help but adore him at this very moment. I never saw it coming. However, I have no doubt that Eden will return with some god awful scheme to get back at him.

Oh so exciting!

And last, but certainly not least, there was the headcase Eden (with the bad hair) who probably would’ve become addicted to all three pill prescriptions that Christian gave her if he didn’t crack his whip and send her to drug rehab. Side note: I think she exaggerates her heterosexuality because her mom is a lesbo. But that’s just me.

Sadly, we’ll have to wait two weeks for the next new episode. What will I do with myself next Tuesday?

There are a few things I could’ve done without in last night’s Nip/Tuck episode:

a) A guest appearance by Rosie O’Donnell. Gross.

b) Marshmallow fluff. Gross.

c) The ass bandit story line. Where in god’s name did the producers come up with this one? (However, Liz’s comment about “digitally dittling” the victims was pretty damn funny.)

Anyway, on to the good stuff…eating disorders.

As someone who very recently wrote a blog about “thinspiration,” I was especially intrigued by the role it played last night. Naughty Eden has introduced poor MacNamara’s daughter to the trials and tribulations of being a young girl who’s overly concerned with her weight. Not only does Annie ask Dr. Mac for lipo because her ass is too big (???), but she gets coached by Eden on “ana” and “mia” not to mention which “thinspiration” websites she visits so that she gets thinspired to skinny.

She even goes as far as making Annie practice purging. Good lord this was so f-ed up! Aside from the fact that this is only a TV show, it’s no wonder so many young girls are developing eating disorders with the kind of influence that’s out there.

Then we have Kate, “the chick who used to be chubby.” She is battling her body as well with her peanut M&M and fluff cravings. Binge eating disorder is becoming more and more common these days and she exemplifies someone who can’t quite overcome it. I think we can all relate to her experience of eating a ton when we’re stressed or sad because some sh*thead broke our hearts. But I can’t help but not like her because she’s so sad and pathetic. It sounds awful, but I’m kind of over her character especially now that Doc Mac has asked her to marry him. Is he for real?

While we’re on the subject, I predict that Dr. MacNamara will have a bit of a bad boy streak. There is this part of him that wants so badly to act out (and screw Eden), and I think it’s only a matter of time before he unleashes the beast.

In contrast, it seems that Christian Troy may become a saint. His connection with the breast reduction nun may have awakened the good in him. Is it safe to say that his man whore days are over?

Guess we’ll have to see how it all plays out.

Before I delve into how much oral activity went on last night (on the show of course), the beginning of Nip/Tuck was utterly horrifying. Dr. MacNamara’s new leading lady sh*t herself in his hot tub and was from that point referred to as “the sh*tter.”

Is it just me or does this girl seem way too unworthy of dating such a hot doctor? I don’t care that she used to be fat. I don’t mind that she has some intimacy issues. What bothers me is that her personality sucks. What does he see in her? Especially now that she’s literally sh*t all over him. Uh, so gross. I did however find all of the poop talk hilarious.

My prediction is that MacNamara dumps her and gets it on with Eden, lesbian Olivia’s overly sexual daughter, who’s hair is out of control. And side note: Is this chick for real? I mean what is she? A teen dominatrix? You’d think she were a tease, but I’m seriously doubt it.

Now on to the oral. GOOD LORD, what a variety. First we have the sh*tter giving Dr. Mac a BJ. Then we have Olivia going down on Julia. And last, but I’m sure not least, Kimber and Matt giving us a full on oral sex show after they smoked crack. And while we’re on the subject of these two, I was like “WHAT?!” when I watched this scene.

Their poor baby.

Above all, I think one of the highlights of the episode was when Julia slept with Christian. I know I was probably as shocked as him when she flat out said she did him to be done with him. Dude, you. Got. Served.

Now that the whole MacNamara/Troy family is back together again, we are all in for some crazy ass drama. God, I love this show.

d) Dr. Troy having kinky sex, and of course

e) that one moment in the show where I’m like, “holy sh%$ that is messed up!”

But last night’s episode caught me totally off guard when it became quite obvious that Julia, MacNamara’s ex wife, was playing for “the other team.” Huh? And with the hot and beautiful girlfriend of Ellen Degeneres, Portia de Rossi, no less! I seriously never saw this one coming. I mean, think about it: Julia had been married to a hot plastic surgeon for years, she’s a mom and she’s even sexed it up kinky style with Troy a few times. Is this not hetero behavior?

Yet when Julia went to LA to introduce/explain her current lady love affair to the boys, she didn’t come out and say, yeah I’ve been into chicks all of this time. She explained to MacNamara that it was all about the “connection” and the fact that the communication and sex were easier.

Hmmm … First I thought, how in god’s name is the sex easier? But then, I began to wonder, is sexual preference really about the connection? Can the actual person, despite gender really be what seals the deal?

I believe that there’s a something I’d like to call a “sexual spectrum.” Some people take the status quo – “I’m a girl so obviously I like boys” ; some go full fledged homosexual – “I knew I was ‘different’ when I developed a crush on Sally in middle school” ; and some just sit in that gray area – “I’m into guys, but I like kissing girls.” You can’t really pigeon hole those in-betweeners because they swing both ways, and well, that just makes a lot of us uncomfortable. We all fall into one of these areas and I think where we are (or where we’ve been) really depends on how open we are to experience the taboo. Because yes, there was that one night in college …

It’s safe to say that Julia falls into the latter of the categories. We’ll just have to wait and see if she continues on with her lady friend with others following (despite her obvious future rendez-vous with Troy as blatantly displayed in the previews for the next episode) or if she eventually chalks it all up to some “phase.”
