I have a friend who is, like, obsessed with me. I don’t know what to do. She calls me all the time and then just wants to talk and talk and I don’t really feel like listening. I mean how many times can I hear about her ex-boyfriend?

Tuffy, to top it all off, she never even asks about me! I mean she calls me all the time you’d think she’d have the common courtesy to at least say hey “what’s going on with you?” It’s really annoying.

I don’t know what to do. This girl has been my friend since elementary school. But now we’re both in college and we live in different cities. But the cities are nearby so I could hang out with her if I wanted to, but the thing is, I don’t want to. It’s really sad because she always calls me (like every week) and I almost never pick up because she bugs the crap out of me. But the thing is, she doesn’t really have any other friends. She makes new friends sometimes, like at school, but she can never keep them very long. Not because she’s mean or anything – just she only talks about herself and I think it gets on people’s nerves.

She’s really nice and she was my friend for years, but she is driving me crazy. If I could, I would just stop being friends with her completely! But I really don’t want to hurt her feelings. What should I do?

Dear FLBD,

You’re not a bad friend. SHE’S a bad friend. She sounds freaking annoying.

Look, usually when people can’t keep friends, there’s a reason for it. Sometimes it’s because they’re jerks. But sometimes, as in the case of your “friend,” it’s because they’re completely self-absorbed.

This girl should get a clue. When EVERYONE has the same reaction to  you no matter where you go, it’s probably not them, it’s probably you. In other words: IT’S HER. But, of course, you have history with this girl. I totally get why you don’t want to leave her hanging.

See, this is the thing about self-absorbed people. They are TAKERS. Takers of your energy and of your good nature. They always, always, always look for givers. Givers are the ones who, in spite of not being able to stand their taker, will still listen, still hang out, still give.

Givers are puppies and takers are the ticks.

So before she wears you the floop out, set rules for yourself. Try distancing yourself by responding to her phone messages via email. That way, you limit the amount of energy she can squeeze from you. When you do talk on the phone, set a time limit for yourself. Don’t let her blab at you endlessly. You are allowed to get off the phone whenever you want.

Tuffy would like to say you should just cut her off if she’s bugging you, but, unfortunately, Tuffy too has a soft spot for old friends.

Just spend as little time dealing with her as you can, and when you do deal with her, make sure you do something nice for yourself afterward: go for a walk or eat some chocolate. You know, cool down. If she’s REALLY pissing you off, you REALLY CAN say something. For instance, say: “Do you want to hear my latest news?” or whatever, or, if you’re feeling particularly ballsy, “It hurts my feelings when you don’t even ask about what I’m up to.”

Conversations shouldn’t be one-sided. You are under no obligation to deal with someone who brings you absolutely no pleasure. But, since she is an old friend, you may find that you just need to limit your dealings with her. Making sure you only talk to her once a month (or however long) may keep you from ripping her eyeballs out.

Just don’t let her get to you, okay? She can’ t bother you any more than you let her.

I’m pretty sure I don’t have OCD, but sometimes I really convince myself that I do.  And by “sometimes” I mean “every time I watch Obsessed on A&E.” Although my habits don’t come nearly as close to those of the people on that show who have to touch the fridge 46 times before they can get some milk, I do have some quirks that make me go hmm…

I know a lot of people have weird things with numbers, but my thing with numbers is just wacky.  For example, when I’m on the treadmill planning on going for a run, I make sure I walk for exactly half a mile before.  The treadmill must say exactly .50 before I can start running.  .49 is not okay, and, to be honest, I’m not sure what I would do if it went to .51 and I wasn’t running yet, but I guess I don’t have to worry about that because I won’t let that happen.

Now, is that just routine or a blatant obsession?

Also, when I play tennis, sometimes I’ll flip the racket in the air and catch it.  And once I do it once, I make myself do it 3 times in a row before I can keep playing.  If I don’t catch it, I have to start over.  WTF?

I don’t know how or why I developed these odd OCD tendencies. I know they aren’t dangerous or cause me social problems (unless I meet someone who can’t handle my racket-flipping), but it’s just….weird. Why do I have to shower in the same order (face, body, hair, conditioner) every morning, or set my alarm clock to a time that ends in 3? And why aren’t I obsessed with something useful like cleanliness or staying organized? Or avoiding cake/chocolate/all things fried?

And am I the only one with a mild case of OCD? What sort of weird OCD habits do you have? Share ‘em here so we can all feel a bit better about ours!

I have been following Beyonce (and by “following,” I mean, “covering my wall/locker with her posters”) ever since I heard her song “Say My Name.” From the days of Destiny’s Child in the late 1990s to her new hot hit “Single Ladies,” she has been sharing her talent for more than fifteen years!

Talent that is clearly recognized. Over the course of her career, Beyonce has been nominated for a total of 186 awards, and received 78.  From the Teen Choice Awards to the Glamour Magazine Woman of the Year to the Grammys, she has won it all. Including my heart.

My love has been strong for Lady B forever, but after seeing her new movie, Obsessed, I am, well, obsessed. Now, not only is she my favorite singer, famous female, and person in general, she is on the top of my list of actresses. Her performance was intense and believable, proving that, unlike so many people in Hollywood, Beyonce really can do it all.  And it turns me on (in a non sexual way, of course…).

But talent can really only take you so far, and it is the person Beyonce is on the inside that totally has me crushing. We all know that she’s gorgeous -  her perfect complexion, big beautiful hair, long lanky legs and eyes that pop out at you instantly draw everyone in. But even with all that perfection, Beyonce is a quiet, low key, and incredibly giving person.

She started the Survivor Foundation, helping  to provide transitional housing for Hurricane Katrina victims. She also helps the Gulf Coast Ike Relief Fund and the Knowles-Rowland Center For Youth. And, if you haven’t heard the song “Stand Up,” go listen to it right now. Beyonce and her music producer wrote it for the huge “Stand Up to Cancer” campaign. It is beautiful, moving, and so inspiring.

And it looks like Beyonce’s charm has swayed far more important people than little old me. Remember what a playboy Jay Z was? Look at him now! Beyonce and Jay Z are the perfect couple – affectionate, “normal,” and keeping their private lives private. Their relationship is something that everyone in Hollywood should be jealous of and defintely one that my crush, Beyonce, deserves.

If she wasn’t already taken, I’d totally put a ring on it.

Following in the footsteps of VH1′s The Pick Up Artist, comes a similar You-Suck-At-Dating-So-Let’s-Fix-Your-Flaws-Before-You-Start-Throwing-Birthday-Parties-For-Your-Cats show. This time, we watch as GIRLS get some harsh reality about what we do that turn off the MEN. Hosted by the ever beautiful and brutally honest Steve Ward, a master matchmaker and easy-on-the-eyes male, this show follows eight single ladies looking for love as they journey through a “Tough Love Boot Camp.”

Each episode will revolve around one theme and include a Dating 101 class, a field exercise (a date!), and end with a group therapy session where one girl is chosen for doing the worst. Unlike The Pick Up Artist, nobody gets booted off, but the worst contestant will get an embarrassing critique during therapy. This is good news for us viewers because we get to learn some lessons along with the girls (finally, a reality show that’s actually useful!), but thankfully don’t have to do it on national TV!

With issues ranging from trust, intimacy, communication, ex-boyfriends, and the infamous text-aholism, Steve works with these ladies to break their bad habits in hopes of finding The One. Each girl has a classic case of Chase-A-Guy-Away-itis and is nicknamed for their main issue. I’m sure we can all find one girl we relate to the most, so I challenge you to follow your sistah’s progress. Learn some lessons along with your favorite gal and root for her to find love. So, which girl are you?

Abiola (Miss Picky) – The self-proclaimed Princess whose standards are so high that she critiques guys based on a 10 point scale. Props to her for being an independant diva, but will she learn to give guys a chance or continue to write them off before even learning their last name?

Arian (Miss Party Girl) – A former stripper and hardcore partier who dates by a “two week” rule, this chica is dealing with some daddy issues. Claiming that all men are unfaithful, she protects herself by immediately airing her dirty laundry in hopes that a guy will stay with her despite her flaws. Her penchant for TMI and overly-sexual nature keeps decent guys at arms length.

Jacklyn (Miss Wedding Obsessed) – This 23 year old, small-town, wannabe bride is terrified that her “clock is ticking” and hopes to be married by 25. Having already chosen her wedding dress, centerpieces, invitations and photographer, this commitment-minded Southern Belle scares guys off like Jennifer Aniston!

Jessa (Miss Too Much Too Soon) – This insecure textaholic smothers guys with her obsessive nature. Taking pics of them in their sleep, over-analyzing every word and stalking their Facebooks have the men running for the hills. Will she take Steve’s advice and finally learn how to enjoy the moment?

Jody (Miss Lone Ranger) – This 30 year old has found total success in the workplace, but has no one at home to share it with. Too much focus on work and no play has left this hard worker alone and lonely. Although a wonderful role model for goal-oriented girls, can she stop obsessing about work and make time for a real relationship?

Natasha (Miss Fixing The Wrong Guys) – Suffering from the Nurse Curse, she is attracted to men with issues and hopes to be the one girl who can change him for the better. Being too nice and caring, she allows these hot messes to walk all over her.

Stasha (Miss Ball Buster) – This former Playmate’s alpha female attitude and constant bragging intimidates every single guy she meets. Her harsh, critical and upfront demeanor are her way of putting up walls to keep out “losers.” Can this self-proclaimed “sheep in wolves clothing” let down her guard and let in her match?

Taylor (Miss Gold Digger) – A get-what-I-want Daddy’s girl, this unapologetic bitch won’t settle for anything less than “the finer things in life.” Claiming that guys are intimidated by her looks and the attention she gets, she lets her shallow standards do the talking.

Can you relate to any of these ladies? If not, congratulations, but some of us may still be wondering why we’re single. Though these girls do have great things to offer, their issues are stopping them just short of finding true love. Let’s watch as they break down their walls, correct their mistakes and let Steve use an electrocution device to zap away their bad habits. It’s gonna be a bumpy ride…

We clearly share a mutual love for all things fashion and all things cheesy teen television, which is why I was so excited about to let MK in on my little Gossip Girl fashion secret:

Not that I would buy (or could afford) Serena’s $450 dollar Tory Burch sequin dress that she wore on her date with Dan, but unlike poor little me, these characters have stylists.

And obvs, they’re much better than raisin-faced Rachel Zoe.

The best part about fashion is the way the individual pieces are mixed. And although I consider myself fashion forward, sometimes I don’t know how the hell to spice up a great piece. I usually just throw on something lowbrow and have all-together missed an opportunity to show my personality by mixing and matching pieces I wouldn’t necessarily expect.

Which is why I was taken by the styles on Gossip Girl in the first place. If you weren’t obsessed with Serena’s gold dress cum cropped jean jacket and black tights ensemble, you, my friend have got problems. It was fab. Check out the Gossip Girl Fashion Gallery after the jump!

The CW had previously jumped on the TV fashion train, showcasing styles from slightly unfashionable shows like Smallville and One Tree Hill. But with the height and glamour of Gossip Girl, the store is sure to take off, or at least get a lot of hits by ladies in the know.

My favorite part of this Gossip Girl style is the fact that they are fully aware of the fact that their normal viewers cannot afford most of the Upper East Side glamour these fictional girls are privy to. So, they’re mixing it up with high-end pieces (like the Tory Burch) and low end buys from stores like H&M and Zara.

And since H&M and Zara do not sell merch online, it’s the perfect opportunity to pick up some goods you can’t score…unless you live in the city.

I really, really want a straw fedora and I can’t for the life of me find one again. I saw one, a month ago at H&M and should have bought it but at the time didn’t even have the seven bucks. So sad.

Now that the trend has made it to the pages of People, I guess I can now openly talk about my love for the fedora because it’s obvious that they are everywhere. And even though everybody is doing it, I’m still going to get one because I’m totally obsessed.

Perhaps tan linen for fall or thick black wool for winter? They are the perfect it’s raining/I haven’t showered/it’s too sunny because I’m hungover hat.

Plus, they add that fabulous touch to any outfit that just makes you look… extra fab.

Because none of us can afford this one, this one and this one are cheaper options.

Tell me about an average day in the life of Lindsay Lohan.

It starts out with a 5 a.m. hike through Runyon Canyon to watch the sunrise. Then I go outside, and I try to find the paparazzi. I go down to Robertson Boulevard, try and search for them, find them, and bring them food.

And then what do you do at night?

Well, of course, I’m sitting at the computer all night.

No. I wish they’d be clever and make something up for me.
