Oprah Winfrey turns 58 years old today! Happy Birthday Queen O!

We wanted to wish her the happiest of birthdays by showing you guys some of the best Oprah impressions. So now you too can celebrate the birth of the woman who made Tom Cruise jump on a couch and basically told us all who the President of the United States would be before any of  us had a clue. I always knew I had an addictive personality. To be fair, though, for awhile I thought that meant that other people were addicted to my personality: my sense of humor, my charming ways, my gift giving skills… But then I got to college, smoked my first cigarette outside of a frat party and quickly learned that:

A) There are some people who don’t find me charming
B) Cigarettes are delightful when you’re drinking

But despite all the bad things about cigarettes and the fact that I now have to stand in the rain to smoke them because they’re illegal indoors, that addiction might actually be the least of my problems. So let me share my 10 worst addictions that might be worthy of an A&E Intervention.

10. The Real Housewives
It’s bad enough that I DVR every episode of every season and know more about these catty women than I do about foreign policy. But the real problem is that I hate them – every single one of them – and watching them makes me so angry I want to reach through my TV and throttle them. But since I can’t choke Ramona, I end up indulging in a row of Oreos to ease my anxiety. But do I stop watching? No. I can’t. And I also can’t curb my excitement for the newest cast in D.C.

9. Coffee
It’s gotten to the point that I can’t even go to the gym without having at least one Grande Americano first. I’ll even make a Starbucks run at 9 p.m. on a Thursday just to make it through my weekly dose of #10. And then I’ll pass out at 10 p.m.

8. Driving Fast
Three speeding tickets in 3 months, plus one situation where I got pulled over and flirted my way out of another? Yes, that’s me!

7. Email
The first thing I do when my alarm goes off in the morning is turn on my iPhone and check my email. And then I continue to check it obsessively throughout the day. It’s not like there’s anything really important coming through that requires me to check every 11 minutes (well, after I’ve read my RueLala specials), but I can’t stop. Not even when I’m doin’ a little #8 (don’t tell Oprah!) or a little #2 (in the bathroom…not the one on this list.)

6. Eyebrow waxing
Based on the way my eyebrows grow in, I’m pretty sure I’m a distant cousin of Chewbacca. I swear, if I think about it hard enough I can make my brows grow back in a minute. I’ve become addicted to keeping them perfect and my weekly appointments give me a high similar to the one I get after a really good workout.

5. Kashi Go Lean Crunch
It’s healthy and tasty and I’ll eat it with anything from cereal to ice cream. But it also has some foul smelling side effects. Needless to say, it’s my friends that have the biggest issue with this particular addiction.

4. Late night food
No matter how hard I try, I can’t come home from a night out without eating something greasy, disgusting and totally unhealthy. And trust me, I’ve tried. I once forced myself to go to bed without food, passed out for an hour, then got up and ordered a pizza.

3. Judging People
Not all people – just the ones that deserve it. Like men with mullets, girls who wear stripper shoes, the women who go on The Bachelor, the annoying kid who always asks a million questions in class and makes class run over every. single. week, frat boys who still pop their collars, girls who wear Bump Its…. OK, maybe everyone.

2. Making Lists
I’ve got a list for everything: homework, my sexual history, packing, phone calls to make, emails to send, things I want to buy, people I hate, this very article….

1. Making Out
Everyone loves a great makeout session, but I can’t seem to live without them. Good or bad. Or, in the case of last weekend, so bad I had to stop in the middle and chug another beer before I could even consider sucking face with that mustachioed creepy guy again.

John Mayer’s disastrous Playboy interview in which he dropped the N-word and told naughty bedroom secrets about Jessica Simpson is too much for even Oprah Winfrey to handle. Oprah’s couch — which has been a platform for dozens of celebrity apologies and explanations — isn’t open to the guitarist just yet. Why? Because O is great pals with one of John’s exes!

Oprah’s Not Talking to John Mayer

Whenever a celebrity does something stupid, they often end up begging for forgiveness on Oprah’s sofa — but not John Mayer. Apparently he’s going to have to find someone else’s shoulder to cry on, because the talk show queen is refusing to have the attention-seeking singer on her set. Oh, Johnny-boy, you know you’ve done bad when Oprah won’t let you boost her show’s ratings!

What will make you feel like this?

It’s sad but true, but when it comes to jobs there is often a big disparity between what will make us rich and what will make us happy. Just ask all those recent grads making six figures at their finance jobs; I can guarantee most of them are not all smiles after 90-hour work weeks.

The problem (especially in this economy) is that people are more concerned with the ching ching than those warm fuzzies they get when they’re doing something they love. I totally get it; money is a great thing and I know from experience how crappy life is when you’re makin’ nothing. (I swear, I was about 2 quarters away from being homeless on the streets of NY at my first post-college job!) But what about your happiness? Does that count for anything?

This week I asked my writers – many of whom will be off looking for real jobs in the near future – to take a break from the bustle of their lives and think a little bit about their futures.

Norah – Drake University: Working for an organization for young women – something like Girl Scouts or Girls Inc.

Brittany – University of Saint Thomas: If happiness were my dollar bill, I would be a horse trainer. If I could spend countless hours with horses AND be getting paid via happy vibes, my life would be complete. I wouldn’t complain being a fashion designer either; if only I could sew a button on my own jacket….

Alex – Lakehead University: Traveling! Going all over the world, staying in beautiful hotels and villas, eating the most decadent foods and seeing all the wonderful sights. I love traveling but it’s just so darn expensive!

Katie – Michigan State University: Fashion designer, hands-down. A close second is exactly what I studied for: photography.

Lauren – University of Michigan: Telling jokes on stage. But only if people don’t heckle me.

Jessica – FIT: Dancing would make me a billionaire

Noa – CU Boulder: Beer pong coach?

Elizabeth – UC Berkeley: A food critic.  Who wouldn’t want to eat for a living?

Ricki – University of Michigan: Celebrity party planner

Sarabeth – University of Texas: If I were a writer for SNL, I’d be Oprah rich.

Jessica – Delaware: A kindergarten teacher. I absolutely love kids, and I don’t think teachers get paid enough for what they do!

Cristina – Michigan State University: Somewhere between being a make-up artist, the editor of Nylon Magazine, a DJ (like Leigh Lezark), and the girl who moans in rap songs. Possibly all four at once.

Amy – University of Iowa: Trampoline Tester (One that tests how fun they are, not how safe; I just want to jump, not get hurt!)

Samantha – UC Santa Barbara: My summer job as a team leader at Camp Galileo working with an amazing staff and to-be kindergarteners.

Emmy- Loyola University Chicago: If there are any jobs where you just read all day, I would be so rich from doing them!

Charlsie – Hollins University: If I could write freelance and make cupcakes on the side, I would be rolling in the dough!

Hannah – Assumption College: Definitely a personal trainer, Jillian Michaels’ style.

Kelly – University of Iowa: Daydreaming about drinking sangria on the beach with my cute Spanish teacher. If only.

Sara C – Fordham: I’d be a pro runner, or someone who trains runners. Unfortunately in the real world, those jobs usually go to people who can run 4 minute miles, or used to be able to in their prime. But if I could live off happiness alone, I’d run all the time!

Brithny – Duke: Any kind of job that would make me famous. Currently in the process of pitching my own reality TV show to MTV: Shanghai Shore.
