After years of fighting off rumors about his sexuality, Latin singer Ricky Martin has finally just posted the following message on his official Web site, coming out and telling the world he is gay.
“Today is my day, this is my time, and this is my moment. These years in silence and reflection made me stronger and reminded me that acceptance has to come from within and that this kind of truth gives me the power to conquer emotions I didn’t even know existed … I am proud to say that I am a fortunate homosexual man. I am very blessed to be who I am,” he wrote. Read More »

Kate Gosselin has gone through a whirlwind over the last year: Cheating rumors, a nasty divorce, a public PR campaign to get her story out there … and now, ‘Dancing With the Stars.’ The mother of eight shook her stuff on the ‘DWTS’ dance floor for the first time last night, and her performance was enough to make one judge jump to her defense after some less-than-kind words from another.

It’s comforting to know we live in an age where no investment bank, car company or celebrity hot mess will ever be left behind.
In the era of government bailouts and cross-aisle calls for economic revival ABC’s ‘Dancing with the Stars’ has become the public relations equivalent of a Fed bailout.
“Just when you think you’ve hit rock bottom – there’s a rescue plan. If you’re AIG, it’s the federal government. If you’re Pamela Anderson or Shannon Doherty, it’s ‘Dancing With The Stars,” says Catey Hill, New York Daily News Money Editor and author of ‘Shoo Jimmy Choo: The Modern Girl’s Guide to Spending Less and Saving More.’ Read More »

Many have commented on the Playboy interview in which John Mayer compared ex-girlfriend Jessica Simpson to “sexual napalm” — including the rocker himself, repeatedly. Finally Simpson herself is ready to weigh in on the controversy, telling Oprah Winfrey, “It was so discouraging, because that’s not the John I knew.”
In her ‘Oprah’ segment Wednesday, Simpson admits that she felt betrayed by her ex and says she has yet to accept Mayer’s apology. “I don’t resent him,” she explains, “but I’m just going to let that part of my life go.” Read More »

In a monologue that avoided the pointed barbs of the epic struggle, Jay Leno returned to “The Tonight Show” stage Monday night repeating the phrase, “It’s good to be home.”
“I’m Jay Leno, your host … at least for a while,” he continued, alluding to the battle for the coveted NBC time slot with short-lived tenant Conan O’Brien.
“I’ve got to admit that I’m a little nervous,” said Leno, “not because it’s my first night back. Because I know that Dave and Oprah are watching.”
Leno then went back to business as usual in the monologue, lampooning everything from the Olympics, Russians, Dick Cheney’s heart problems, the Toyota recall and Tiger Woods. Leno then dramatically unveiled the new desk he’ll sit at during his tenure as host.

American snowboarded Shaun White had already won gold before his final run on the half-pipe.
His first attempt earned him the highest score of the competition, so White had nothing to lose. But the red-headed sensation gave it his all and performed his Double McTwist 1260, a move he perfected in secret on his own private half-pipe.
“This was unlike any season I’ve had,” White said after repeating as the Olympic champ. (He won gold in the 2006 Torino games as well.)

With word that the fun-loving, tan-tastic kids of MTV’s ‘Jersey Shore’ are renegotiating their contracts so that they earn $10,000 per episode in a new season, a few thoughts went through our mind. Firstly: Damn, that’s a lot of money (though with their ratings, we say they deserve it whether they’re buffoons or not). And secondly … what could/should they buy with their newfound wealth?
So, we broke down what could be purchased with one episode’s paycheck ($10k), including some recommendations we think would benefit their next summer in Seaside Heights. Read More »
