I love being alone in my apartment. I love it so much that after two years of living with three roommates, I decided to move into a one bedroom with ZERO roommates (except two cats). Since moving in, I’ve had a lot of time to myself. At first, I didn’t know what to do with that time, and sometimes I would just pace around thinking, “What am I supposed to be doing?” The answer to that question is, “WHATEVER I WANT TO DO!” I live alone! I don’t have to worry about looking foolish or annoying any roomies. I can relax however I want or be as obnoxious as I want to.

I’m sure many of you have roommates, but I bet there are times when you are the only one in your apartment. Take advantage of that time! You don’t need to sit around feeling bored and wondering when your roomie is coming home. You need to do these things instead…

Even though “hipsters don’t exist” according to hipsters, we think hipsters are pretty funny. Sometimes I wear a v-neck and my glasses, and I feel so un-trendily trendy. Hipsters are known for wearing super skinny jeans, v-necks, and listening to music that you’ve probably never heard of. They drink PBR and are really into indie films, often ones in foreign languages without subtitles. They’re all for sustainability and the environment and have no problem telling you that you’re a conformist. Hipsters are everywhere these days and are ironically really trendy.

Maybe it’s your final week of exams and you need a break from cramming for a minute (or twenty).  Or maybe you’re already home on break and you need an activity that’ll help you kill some time between laying on your bed and laying on the couch downstairs. Ice skating is really difficult. I’m no Michelle Kwan but I try my best on the ice to stay on my feet. There are some people, though, who are just awful on their skates. My best friend is one of those people. I think it’s the reason I always suggest going ice-skating. I know it’ll be bursting with pee-your-pants humor for both of us (okay, just me).

Which is why I’m about to show you some of the funniest falls known to the ice skating rink. I suggest you move to the couch now, put your feet up and text all your besties to get ready for skating at 7.

I used to be the biggest Britney fan. I had her plastered all over my walls, and I once tried so hard to lean her Crazy dance by watching Darrin’s Dance Grooves. I was happier than ever when she started to make her comeback after her visit to Psychotown, but it makes me sad that she’s not the same Britney. In her videos, she does minimal dancing and her moves look amateur.

Other pop stars have done the same thing. Remember when Justin Timberlake used to simultaneously sing, dance and make a whole audience of people have an orgasm? Jessica Simpson was once a cute, virginal girl, and now all anyone can focus on is her weight. And then there’s my second favorite popstar: Christina Aguilera. She used to break boundaries by dancing almost naked in a boxing ring, and now she’s helping  judge an American Idol knock-off.

So reminisce with me about the days when these people used to rule award shows and sell-out arenas in minutes.

I know you’ve been stuffing your face all week. Don’t worry, I have too. My dad bought a twenty-four pound turkey for our Thanksgiving smorgasbord, and we didn’t even have family come in. While I haven’t felt guilty about going into a mashed potato coma, I’m sure some physical activity is needed after an eating marathon. Typically, after I gorge myself for several days, I don’t really want to get up. But I also don’t want to sit there and feel like I’m expanding a la Willy Wonka blueberry-style, and I’m sure you don’t either.

In my 22 years I’ve come to learn three important things about myself. The first two are that I am an absolute sucker for babies and old people. I make an exception for newborns and mean old people because no matter how hard I’ve tried to tell myself otherwise, neither are cute.

When I was in college, I used to spend my Sundays much like I spend them now…doing nothing, clicking random things on my computer, hoping that they’ll keep me busy for at least 45 minutes at a cap. My roommate in college procrastinated by planning her wedding. (Weird, I know, but let’s not go there.)

The third and final important fact I learned about myself is that I’m addicted to puppies.  I know, you’re shocked at how groundbreaking my revelations are. Well, when you’re 22 and unemployed, this is what your life becomes.

So, I’m here to help my fellow procrastinators out. If you’re not busy planning your wedding or stumbling on your computer, you SHOULD be looking at these incredibly cute puppies mistaking themselves for humans.

On Friday, Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 2 was released on DVD and Potter fans freaked. It’s the end! No more magical releases, which is really depressing. I don’t know about y’all but I’m pretty obsessed with Harry Potter, and I can’t believe that this is the last movie. But fear not, Harry lives on in all of us who want to keep the legacy alive. Plus, Pottermore is pretty cool. There are some awesome box sets that will be available for the holidays, which you should definitely take advantage of because it seems Warner Brothers is doing some sort of Harry Potter vault and will take all DVDs off the shelves on December 29th! Yikes.

Sea cows, manatees…whatever you call them, I am obsessed. So much so that on my family vacation to Mexico I bullied my parents into taking me to a water park so I could swim with the oversized cuties. Weighing in at a minimum of 800 pounds and being more curious than Curious George makes you wonder what is there not to love?

One of the best things about Twitter is that people can pretty much say whatever they want. While this can backfire if you say something stupid, it’s hilarious when celebrities do it. Some celebs have outrageous tweets, which is really funny in itself. But it’s even funnier when someone else reads them. Seriously you should try it. Go to Kanye’s feed and read a few out loud, they’ll sound more ridiculous coming from a sane mouth.

It’s been almost three weeks since Steve Jobs passed away, and it’s still just as sad now. When I first heard the news, I was shocked. I knew he had been sick, but I didn’t think that this genius of a man would be gone so soon. Looking around at all of my Apple products and Pixar DVDs, I thought of his impact on our generation. The man who brought us some of our favorite childhood films may be gone, but his spirit, determination, and zest for life will always live on.

Pixar movies are my favorite. They’re filled with stunning graphics, funny scripts, and themes that touch the heart. So watch these Pixar trailers while you’re avoiding all that work you have to do…
