I grew up without a family pet. I mean, we had birds or fish occasionally, but for the most part, my childhood was pretty pet-less. I would constantly ask for a dog, cat, rabbit, etc. but to no avail.  I wanted something furry that I could love and that would love me back! Is that so much to ask?!

Whenever I got super sad or upset as a kid, I would look at all the books I had accumulated over the years (attainted when trying to get my parents to buy me a dog) and look at all the pictures of the cute puppies. I am a huge sucker for puppies. They make my heart melt. My friends still make fun of me for the time I started crying when a little Golden Retriever puppy was brought into one of my classrooms in high school. I’m emotional, okay?! Anyways, I thought there was nothing better than a photo of a cute puppy, but there is: a photo of multiple puppies…cuddling!

Are you in the mood?

Don’t lie to me. We all do it.

We curl up on the couch with a bowl of popcorn, a Diet Coke and soak up every minute of teenage nostalgia, especially the angst-y, heartbreak-y, hormone-driven parts that come with the High School Movie. We may be out of high school, but that doesn’t mean we’re over it. Our very fascination with those 4 years and the events that might have changed our lives is secretly compelling to us. So we watch. And we love it.

And that’s OK. There is nothing wrong with enjoying a little high school drama (and an occasional choreographed dance) again. There is so much to be learned from those flicks and so much happiness to be gleaned from the fact that we are no longer living them.

This is exciting news!

The perpetual pretty boy Zac Efron is set to star in a movie that holds some promise outside the Disney-fied cushion of hormonal tweens!

A new film called 17 is set to begin production soon and has cast Efron as a 17 year old boy who has reverted from a grown man.

Hey, it’s not like it’s never been done before but, whatever. I’m just excited that it’s not another crappy musical.

Am I coming off as an excitable Efron fan? Well, sorry to say…I am not.

But that’s why I can honestly say I am pulling for the guy because for once he’s been giving a role that goes beyond puppy love and a boyish face.

Aww…he’s growing up!
