Rachel Bilson’s style rarely fails to impress me. I just can’t get enough of her feminine, vibrant, dynamic aesthetic. Whether she’s on a red carpet or running errands, Rachel always looks polished and well put-together. She isn’t afraid to take risks, but she never goes to Gaga-levels of extreme style, so her looks are accessible and can serve as reliable inspiration to us all.

Embellishing a classic little white dress with beads is a fabulous idea, and this one from ASOS is amazing. Its flow and beads make the dress more eye-catching and different. Combined with a black knit moto jacket, this becomes a more casual look, with the androgyny of the jacket neutralizing the super femininity of the dress. Add in a great snakeskin bag with a chain strap and silver heels for a metallic edge, and this quickly becomes a fun ensemble for a night out. Switch out the silver heels for some flats, and you could easily transition this into a day look, or change the jacket for a more formal presentation. You could do so much with any of the pieces in this outfit!

I am pretty happy with myself. It took three torturous middle school years and four years of high school full of insecurity to get me to the point where I actually like who I am and how I look (most days). But sometimes I see certain celebs, and I think, “I would kill for her (insert body part here).” I know celebs have stylists, personal trainers and hair/make-up people who help them look amazing, so it’s hard not to get jealous (because I can barely curl my own hair).

This isn’t a post about how I feel inferior to celebs and hate myself. This is about how I’m totally happy with my body, but if someone offered me Britney Spears’ stomach circa 2000, I would have no problem saying, “Yes,please!” So here’s to you hot celebs, you have the best body parts, and I may just have to kill you and steal them right off your hot bods.

Rachel Bilson never fails to impress. She always makes fashion look so simple and easy. That’s what all of my favorite fashionistas have in common. Even if they spend 5 hours on their outfits, it always looks like 5 minutes. True style is a reflection of your personality, so it shouldn’t look forced or uncomfortable. But enough with my philosophizing, let’s get to the clothes.

Blazers always make me swoon, and I’m totally jealous of wherever Rachel is that it’s cool enough to even wear one (why does summer have to be soooo hot?). This gray one is perfect for layering. Boyfriend shirts will never go out of style, and they always look sexy paired with a blazer. Denim shorts make this look more summer appropriate, and take it towards a more casual place, especially distressed ones. Black booties add a little rock star/Taylor Momsen-y edge, which fits in very smoothly with this ensemble that flirts very coyly with “grunge.” Accessories include a great, functional, cute little gray bag and classic wayfarer sunglasses. It’s an interesting outfit for day or (especially) for night that combines comfort with sexiness.

I can’t gush about Rachel Bilson’s style enough (I’ve written about her twice before. She’s so dynamic and committed to being on-trend while still letting her own personality shine through. She never looks anything less than polished but never excessively, inaccessibly so. Her outfits are always straightforward and simple, but never dull or uninspired. Basically, I worship her and everything she chooses to be.

Blazer, Tank, Shorts, Pumps, Clutch

I truly don’t know how I made it through life before my love affair with blazers. They are seriously the perfect piece of clothing – chic, comfortable, classic, and so incredibly versatile. You can pair a blazer with nearly anything and it will look amazing. Rachel paired hers with a gorgeous beaded tank. Embellished tops are a great way to add eye-catching flair to any ensemble. I love the contrast of an uber-feminine and coquettish beaded tank with leather shorts, creating an interesting contrast and adding some edginess and sexiness.

Sky high pumps are the most fitting shoe for this look not only because they match the fierceness of the leather shorts, but they also elongate your legs, which is always a plus when you’re wearing shorts. A small black clutch is a great way to pull together the whole outfit. This is a flawless, trendy, sexy look that is more than fitting for summer nights painting the town red with the girlies.

After the longest winter ever, it is finally March. Spring starts in three weeks (!!!), and I am beyond ready to put my winter clothes into hibernation. I love tights and scarves and boots as much as the next girl, but I’m too stoked for vibrant colors, sundresses, and open toes…

So when I saw an outfit Rachel Bilson went for a stroll in, I pretty much spontaneously combusted from glee/envy. We all know Rachel is one of Hollywood’s most consistently stunning fashionistas, and once again, she does not disappoint.

Dress, Jacket, Necklace, Booties.

Coral is one of the hottest colors of the season, and this blazer is amazing. Bright, bold, fun, and full of energy, it is the perfect staple for this season. (Well, once you cut off that horrible flower…) Rachel pairs hers with a cream drop-waist dress, creating a casually sophisticated, slightly boho look. An edgy black necklace adds an interesting element of contrast to this bright aesthetic. Open toed boots are one of those trends that never quite catch on, because really, it makes no sense. And yet, they’re an interesting alternative to sandals or pumps if you’re feeling adventurous.

This is a great sophisticated day look that combines the structured edginess of the best winter fashion we fall in love with every year, and the vivacious femininity that makes spring fashion so awesome to wear. Cheers to Rachel for making it happen.

Rachel Bilson has lived a charmed life. She made out with Adam Brody as part of her job (sniffle, I still miss The O.C.). She made out with Adam Brody for pleasure. She had a whirlwind engagement to Hayden Christensen. She is going to be starring in an NBC show that was created with her in mind. She has cultivated a reputation for being one of the most consistently stylish and adorable celebrities, she writes a column for one of fashion’s holiest publications (InStyle), and her most recent job title is Eyewear Ambassador for the Sunglass Hut. (I don’t know what that means, but I’m jealous.)

If that’s not enough to make you want to be her, she’s also got some serious personal style.

Rachel’s signature style is a combination of trendy and classic. She constructs awesome outfits by mixing textures, sticking with flattering silhouettes, and choosing eye-catching accessories. And putting them all together flawlessly.

While I may never be able to wake up in Adam Brody’s overly slender arms have her life, I find comfort in knowing I can have Rachel’s style. Even with my meager budget:

This outfit is perfect for a low-maintenance but still fashion-conscious lady. Distressed jeans are casual without being sloppy, while the fleece jacket is functional while being adorable (and giving a fabulous nod to Coco Chanel.) While Rachel chooses to roll up the cuffs of her jeans as a different way to show off her booties, tucking your jeans into your boots is far from played out.

And who wouldn’t want to show off those sexy suede ankle booties (for under $50!)?

But the real highlight of this outfit for me is the amazing hybrid animal-print scarf. It’s so offbeat and full of character, and the pashmina-type scarf is still very much in. It also is the easiest (and cheapest) way to turn a basic and boring t-shirt and jeans ensemble into a trendy and stylish look. Throw in the quilted bag from the Hilary Duff ensemble from a few weeks ago, and you’ll look, as Katy Perry so eloquently stated, fine, fresh, and fierce.

This week I’d like to dedicate this post to Chelsea Handler, who despite flubbing some punchlines at the VMAs, is still totally awesome.

That being said, this week has been filled with a lot of post-VMA talk over T-Swift’s downer of a diary entry, Biebs owning it, Rihanna’s red hair, and Kanye’s ode to douchelords. Kanye’s song (and sick gold necklace) rocked, by the way. Just sayin’. Anyway, there were some non-VMA related things that happened so let’s break it down.

Big Mac (and a milkshake)

1. Shelley Malil, that guy from 40-Year-Old Virgin, has been found guilty of attempted murder. He’s facing 21 years to life for the premeditated attempted murder of his ex-girlfriend, Kendra Beebe. Shelley pled not guilty and claims he accidentally stabbed her (over 20 times) because he thought it was someone else trying to attack him. Mmmmk.

2.Watch out world – Speidi’s back! We all speculated that their “divorce” was a publicity stunt, but now the two claim they’ve reignited that special flame. (And how they did that when Satan Pratt is sporting a giant pube beard I’ll never know.) Wondering what this duo has been up to? Well, they were reportedly renting a home in Malibu this summer, made a bunch of renovations without telling the owner, and then hopped over to Costa Rica where Spencer got arrested last week on weapon charges. I guess congrats for saving your marriage?

4. Bob Barker fainted at a shooting range! Thankfully he’s OK! (And didn’t shoot anyone in the face on the way down. Hear that, Cheney?!) The 86-year-old Price Is Right host was taken to the hospital for dehydration. He’s taking it easy at home. Goodness gracious, Bob! Don’t scare us like that!

5. Joaquin Phoenix is a jokester! Remember when Joaquin said he was quitting acting to become a rapper? Well, according to the director of his documentary, Casey Affleck, it was a hoax! I’m Still Here follows Joaquin as he tries to break into the hip hop world, but the duo behind the project claim they “never intended to trick anybody.” Joaquin played this character on and off screen, even when he did interviews, for two full years. This has to be the longest running prank ever and makes Ashton Kutcher’s Punk’d days look like small potatoes.

1. Are Rachel Bilson and Chace Crawford a couple? The two were spotted out in New York together, but her rep said they aren’t dating and she’s friends with his manager. And didn’t we just hear speculation that Rach is gettin’ down with Jake Gyllenhaal? I think it’s about time she reunited with Hayden Christensen and put an end to all these rumors.

2. Jennifer Hudson keeps dropping the pounds! The Weight Watchers spokeswoman has lost another 20 pounds…the healthy way. Impressive! You’re looking fabulous, J-Hud!

3. David Blaine and fiancee, Alizee Guinochet, are expecting. Congrats! I wonder if Baby Blaine will pull a rabbit out of the womb with him.

4. Natalie Portman’s new movie, Black Swan, is getting tons of Oscar buzz. I’m not surprised – Natalie is a superstar. Although I’m not exactly sure what a ballet thriller is.
