I’m a pretty big fan of the slouchy/relaxed pants.
Pants with elastic waistbands considered trendy? Why on EARTH would any of us ever complain? We can now wear pants that hide how much pizza we’ve actually eaten, we won’t have to unbutton them under the table and people (mainly girls) will tell us we look cute.
Sign. Me. Up.
And the best part is – anything goes. Throw them on with a lose tee and some flats, or pair them with a fitted top and heels and you can rock these day or night. Comfort, style AND room for late night eating? I’m a big, big fan. Like huge.
Here are two cute pairs that are great for day and night, and can take you right into fall. Read More »

I don’t know about you, but after what seemed to be the most grueling. winter. ever. I am excited and eager to dust off my spring wardrobe… and add some new pieces to it. As is always the case with the new season, we have some new trends (along with a few piggy-back trends of season’s past) to spice up our wardrobes.

Tired? We are. This week was full of emotional ups and downs. And so much TV we barely had time to sleep. There was a lot of bad (like the economy) and a lot of good (like all those awesome sales caused by the economy). Oh yeah, and midterms.
We’re so pooped now we can barely form complete sentences.
Or is that the boxed wine we just drank…
Anyways, here is a look back at this hellish week.
The Bad:
The not-so-great news from the gyno.
The lack of a social scene on some college campuses.
That douchey Jason and his Bachelor mind games.
The leftover pizza…eaten off the floor.
A university preventing students from getting access to birth control.
The knowledge that Ryan Seacrest and I could never be.
The Good:
Getting ready for SPRING BREAK, baby.
Which can still be awesome even if we’re not goin’ anywhere.
An awesome dance playlist.
Relaxed fit (read: no muffin top!) pants are back.
Alexander McQueen is coming to Target!
That not-so-hot boy can still turn you on.
And, the best of all, there are some seriously hot professors out there.

Relaxed fit pants are the must-have silhouette for spring 2009. With the correct fit, they strike the perfect balance between appearing effortlessly chic and professionally appropriate. They can be worn for a day out, a night out, or even to your summer internship.
But without the correct fit, they can also go horribly, horribly wrong.
When you try them on, make sure they are fitted in the waist and butt. They should be looser and more relaxed over your thighs, and tapered and cropped above your ankles.
Since cropped pants can make your legs seem shorter, wear heels to balance everything out if you’re on the petite side. If you’re taller, pair them with heels or wedges for a dressier look, or flat gladiator sandals for a more casual vibe. Just stay away from ballet flats.
Because you’re going loose on your bottom half, you’ll want to wear a more fitted top. A tucked in blouse works for a more professional setting. When you’re not at work, wear a slim-fitting t-shirt and belt around the pants. Click here to see an example of how to rock this trend on one of my favorite blogs, Cupcakes and Cashmere.
