Want to be a classy woman? Zenyatta could teach you something. And I’m not talking about the Zenyatta Mondatta 1980 Police album, either. I’m talking about a living, breathing, Guinness drinking lady. Who also happens to be a horse. That’s right, a horse.
Which is more surprising? The fact I just called a horse classy or the fact I said she drinks one Guinness a day?
When I meet a really classy woman, I can just smell it wafting from her like a spritz of Chanel No. 9. She presents herself with ease and balance. She lifts her head high but does not turn her nose up at you. She exemplifies sophistication and showcases a confident attitude.
Have you met a classy woman? I’ve met quite a few in my time but none quite like the horsey woman inside the equine goddess, Zenyatta.
Before you go say I’m a crazy person for forcing you to look up to a horse, hear me out. And follow her amazing story. Read More »

I’ll be honest – if I didn’t read CollegeCandy, I never would have known about MTV’s new show, House of Jazmin. I’d like to say it’s because I don’t bother with the dribble on MTV, but the real reason is because I get so engrossed in the drama on MTV shows that I am forced to fast-forward straight through the commercials and miss everything that is comin’ up.
So I watched this new show, AKA MTV’s answer to the loss of Lauren Conrad. MTV’s attempt at another show that might possibly gross as much money for the network as The Hills. MTV’s response to people who complained about how scripted/fake/annoying The Hills is.
And what did we get?
A real girl who is driven and talented and adorable.
And boring! Read More »
It’s never too late to say sorry, according to Chris Brown that is. Five months later after the “incident” between he and Rihanna he has finally made a public announcement apologizing for “what occurred.”
Maybe Chris Brown’s apology doesn’t sound in the least bit convincing because he doesn’t even have the courage (sorry Chris) to say for what he is in fact “truly truly sorry.” He never actually mentions beating Rihanna, and the word “assault” doesn’t come close from escaping his mouth. Instead, he completely avoids addressing the crime he committed covering it up with a bunch of lame “sorry”s. Lame.
How sincere is an apology when you cant even say what you did? Read More »
As a college student, to say my life is hectic would be a gross underestimation. Between classes, homework, an internship, clubs, my social life, and all of those pesky responsibilities (groceries, laundry, cleaning…ugh), I’m always pressed for time, and facing pressures to do even more. I feel like if I don’t at least get straight As, get to the gym 4 times a week, or save enough money for that essential handbag, then I have failed in some way—but don’t we all?
Enter Liz Funk, who knows the ins and outs of being a “Supergirl,” as she calls it: a girl who believes she must achieve perfection in every area of her life. Simultaneously a student, author, blogger and freelance writer, Liz is both living the dream and fulfilling her prophecy that young women today face enormous pressures to be successful. At just nineteen years old, she published her first book while balancing life at Pace University’s Honors College.
In the book, Supergirls Speak Out: Inside the Secret Crisis of Overachieving Girls (now available in stores and on Amazon.com) Liz investigates how societal forces impose dangerous pressures on young women to succeed—pressures which can often lead to depression, eating disorders, or other devastating emotional traumas. It is a godsend to any young woman who ever cried upon receiving that “little” envelope from Harvard or clocked hours on the elliptical just to maintain her size 6 frame.
I got the chance to speak with Liz about her book, her passions, and life as a Supergirl. I not only admire her success, but respect her for articulating a problem that affects too many young women. We are proud to feature her in our College Candy series, “The 5 Questions We Ask Everyone,” and wish her luck as she continues her nationwide book tour. Read More »
…At least this one wasn’t hopped up on drugs (though she was in possession), alcohol, or showing her ta-ta’s to the world.
Lindsey Evans, 18, a.k.a. Miss Teen Louisiana, was charged with theft and drug possession after she and her cronies pulled a good ol’ dine and dash and ditched out on a bill of almost $50.
But here’s the kicker…
The oh-so-bright beauty queen left her purse at the restaurant and upon returning to retrieve it, was greeted by police who placed her under arrest for the D & D and let her know they found her stash of the Mary Jane in her purse.
Sigh.
Will they ever learn? And aren’t these girls supposed to be role models? Somehow I imagine getting high and ordering $50 worth of food (that you don’t pay for) isn’t setting such a great example to the younger Louisians.
Although, Louisiana also boasts the Spears sisters as its own, so maybe Lindsey Evans isn’t all that bad.
And she looked so innocent….

Alright, so, we all know how I feel about porn.
But what about porn featuring disabled people?
Gimps Gone Wild is one of the best-known websites for male and female “disabled models”. Started in 2002 by Bonnie (otherwise known as “Kitten”), a “3 foot wheelchair vamp dwarf”, Gimps Gone Wild touts itself as a springboard for the acceptance of disabled persons—and their sexual needs.
“The media has pretty much shut out disabled people, except for the usual geriatric wheelchair ads, or…as some pathetic, needy type of person,” Bonnie explained in a recent interview with AVN Media. “We created GGW in response to this rejection. We wanted a sanctuary to express ourselves in a sensual way, to be seen as sexy and to be seen as adults.”
GGW’s website showcases male and female models, with names like “Medical Mary Jane” and “Para Stud” next to a description of each model’s disability. Semi-nude and completely nude pictures are available for purchase, as are video clips featuring models during their own personal striptease.
“[being on GGW] not only helps my own self-confidence, but I get mail from adoring female fans thanking me for being a role model.” Explains a model who calls herself Mistress Mayhem. “I am strong, beautiful and sexy, with a motor to propel me. Love me or hate me, this job gets people with disabilities noticed as sexual beings, and that can only be a positive thing!” Read More »
