Fact is we connect to others by learning about them. And everyone has something to share (even if it is a story about that time they fell down the stairs in the middle of lecture).

So to give you yet another reason to procrastinate, we started ‘The Five Questions We Ask Everyone’ (plus five for that special someone) because we know whether we’re schmoozing with an A- list celeb or your local bartender, you’ll be equally entertained.

Lena is the author of SexandtheIvy.com, a blog about sex and dating at Harvard University. She started blogging back in 2006, sparking immediate controversy on campus and off. Lena received lots of attention for her saucy ways and has since been featured as a commentator on college sexuality in The New York Times, Newsweek, The Boston Globe, Salon, and Playboy Radio. She currently blogs at TheChicktionary.com.

1. What is your most hysterical/ridiculous college memory or the most trouble you’ve ever gotten into?

A tie between dating my former teaching assistant and my psycho ex posting naked photos of me online. I swear I don’t try to be a cliche; my life just turns out that way.

2. Five things you can’t live without

Wifi, sushi, my boyfriend’s bulldog, eight hours of sleep a night, and the spotlight.

3. What’s your motto/advice you live by?

Never put off until tomorrow who you can do today. In other words, it’s okay to f**k on the first date. The first (and only) time I did this, I moved in with the guy six months later.

4. Your favorite song to belt out at the bar/in the car/for karaoke?

“You Give Love A Bad Name,” Bon Jovi

5. Ten years from now you will be….

Hiding out from Google under an assumed name.

6. Why did you start writing Sex and the Ivy?

Because I didn’t think anyone would actually read it. In retrospect, that was a really stupid assumption.

7. What is the craziest sex experience you have ever had?

Losing a condom inside myself for 48 hours.

8. What are some lessons you have learned as you’ve worked on this blog?

That I shouldn’t publicly own up to things like losing a condom inside myself for 48 hours.

9. What is next for you?

Best case scenario: writing a memoir. Worst case scenario: writing my own Wikipedia entry.

10. Best piece of sex advice for the CollegeCandy readers?

Anyone who claims they’re qualified to give sex advice probably isn’t. But if you’re listening anyway: get vaccinated for HPV.

[For many of us, sex and college go together like Uggs and snow - you can’t have one without the other.
My roommate Jeanenne thinks I don’t play “the game” enough. According to her, the only game I play is “let me drop my pants for you.” Yeah, ouch. After such an accusation, I decided to go out there and see what this game was all about. I wasn’t really sure what that meant – or why I needed to play if I was doin’ pretty well without it – but boy did I play that game.

I went out and started partying at 10 AM like any normal (game) day, and vowed to be “coy,” “mysterious,” and “un-slutty” – basics in “The Game,” but pretty odd concepts in my book. What this essentially meant was me going out, getting wasted, and not talking to any guys. (Okay, so I did talk to guys, but I didn’t heavily mack on them per usual.)

And you wanna know what happened? I didn’t get hit on. Not once.

After my experiment, I analyzed all of my data trying to make any sort of sense out of this outcome. Not to toot my own horn, but I’m pretty used to getting hit on fairly regularly. This left me incredibly confused. Did I not get hit on because I appeared unavailable? Or am I just “that girl” that thinks that every guy wants her when he is really spending the entire evening trying to pawn her off to any guy in the general vicinity?

After much pondering, I had a crazy thought: maybe the game is more of a process than an act. Maybe you have to plant the metaphorical seed and wait for the sexual tension to grow. Many times in the past I have had ex-boyfriends call me after years of non-contact. Was I playing the game and not even realizing it? And if so, does that mean I have to wait years for my object of affection to realize how gorgeous and amazing I am?

Seeing as my attention span is far too short for that nonsense, there must be another answer. The Game must be a general approach to life rather than a conscious decision. I don’t mean to be all gung-ho preachy, but I’m starting to think that The Game is a direct result of something known as self confidence. You have to believe that you’re sexy and don’t need to waste your time throwing yourself at losers that don’t realize it. Once this is achieved, the length of time for said losers to realize your amazingness is inversely proportional to the amount of time you’ve been playing the game.

But my friend Rachael disagrees; to her, The Game is when “…each person tries to act like they don’t care (but they do), to try to get the other person to let down their guard first.” That’s a pretty damn good definition if you ask me.

I guess this whole experiment taught me that what “The Game” actually means depends on your individual viewpoint and experiences. Maybe I was playing it all along…

What do you think? Is the game a means to get them to let down their guard, or just a way to bring the boys to the yard? And what are your best game strategies?

Keep me posted.

[Editor's Note: I have no idea what this picture is, but it made me laugh so I used it. I hope you love it as much as me.]

Since learning that confidence is the most attractive thing to a man, I have been pretty successful in my late night endeavors. I see a man I want and I go for it. The general “walk up to a guy and flirt your heart out” approach is most definitely the way to go, but it is the variety of pick-up lines that makes the whole thing so much more fun.

My 5 most successful are listed below. Feel free to use ‘em…they work like a charm. (Just make sure to thank me later. I accept cookies, hugs and dates with Jake Gyllenhaal.)

1. Did you go to [Insert school here]? It is always good to have something to talk about when you approach a man. I mean, you would look pretty creepy if you just walked up to him and stood around. The school thing is always the best way to go because even if you know for a fact that kid did NOT go to Michigan, it is a great way to start off a convo. And let him know how smart you are.

2. My friends and I are fighting and I need your opinion. Is it true that all you guys need is a handful? Always a good line for the flatter ladies out there. This says, I have small boobs and I’m fine with it. Oh, it also shows the guy you have a sense of humor…and you want him to look at your boobs. Later. In bed.

3. Tell your friend you don’t need a wingman. Dudes always bring out a wingman. Without one, they just look like creepy/sleezy guys looking to get laid. Just tell him to ditch the friend and you have yourself more one on one time…instead of all that time wasted hanging out with the friends and trying to think of a way to get home.

4. [Chugs drink in front of boy.] I can’t seem to get a drink around here…Maybe you’ll have better luck? What can I say? I like getting free drinks… Oh and free drinks lead to drunk/horny people, which ends up working for all of us in the end.

5. What do you do for a living? Oh? I write a sex column. This one gets them every. time. And maybe that’s why I’m always using it. Men simply cannot turn down the opportunity to see their name in print. The minute I tell them what I do (and prove it by whippin’ out the iPhone), they can’t stay away. Not a sex columnist? Lie. I promise…this one always leads to happy endings (and not the kind you have to pay for).

Got any others? I’m always open to trying new ideas….
