Most guys we know stay up late dreaming of the day they might end up in a giant orgy with beautiful women. We, however, lie awake at night dreaming of a closet full of beautiful clothes. To the left, a wall of shoes. To the right, shelf upon shelf of delicately handcrafted bags organized by color and size.
Sigh.
We all have our fantasies.
Since guys can turn to the interwebs to get their daily fantasy fix, we thought you should, too! So, we’re bringing you some fashion porn. The best of the best in all things fashionable. Sure, it may be out of your price range, but it’s a fantasy, so live it up in all its delicious glory.
One pattern that has been hot this season is the floral print. Florals are no longer just for your grandmother’s couch. Or housecoat. Or drapes. You get the point… There are many, many ways to embrace this trend. While you can go big with a loud, fabulous floral dress, if that’s not your thing, you can go subtle with a floral accessory.
It’s that easy. And I’m totally smitten with flowers, flowers everywhere.
Florals are fun! Florals just scream summer! And florals are even versatile enough to work when the snow starts to fall. How can you not love them?! There are plenty of options out there for working florals into your wardrobe (and not your furnishings), so you will definitely find something to love. Here is just a delicious taste of what is out there. Enjoy. Read More »

Nude is one of the hottest colors of this summer. The nude skirt is definitely an “it” item, as seen in the collections of designers like Phillip Lim (left, Style.com), Brian Reyes (center, Style.com), and Catherine Holstein (right, for sale at
Saks.com). But where can you find this trend? Look for skirts that are not quite beige, but almost light pink. Here are a three cute options:

High-end fashion brands like Brian Reyes and Louis Vuitton showcased several looks featuring big shoulders on the spring 2009 runways. While I’m not advocating stealing some eighties-style shoulder pads from (hopefully deep inside) your mom’s closet, you can still rock the big shoulder trend.
And why would you want to? Well, for one, it’s everywhere. And it’s chic, unlike the shoulder pads of the 80s. Still not convinced? How about the fact that wearing a top or dress with ruffled or puffed up shoulders can balance out wide hips and make arms appear slimmer? Yeah, I thought so.
Here are some of my favorite picks at every price point: Read More »

What do Mischa Barton, Mary Kate Olsen and Nicole Richie all have in common? They’re all embracing their inner hippie by sporting the forehead headband.
Now, we have to admit, we weren’t on board with this trend at first. Seriously, why not just push the headband back off your forehead? But after much consideration, and a few times actually sporting the trend ourselves, we’re convinced … once in awhile, it’s fun to feel like a flower child! And tons of fabulous fashion and accessory designers are getting in on the trend by creating headbands specifically for the purpose of being worn around the forehead, not pushed back up onto the crown. Check out our new faves. Read More »

Exposed zippers are hot. As in, “if you unzipped this my outfit would fall off” hot (in theory – most items are actually double-layered so no need to worry about someone unzipping you!). They also make a piece more interesting.
This trend, already embraced by celebrities like Kate Bosworth, is a must-have for your wardrobe as it will be going strong well into spring and summer, according to Joyce Chang, features editor of People StyleWatch.
“Whether you’re going more refined or tougher, there’s a zippered look for every one and every budget,” Chang said. Here are a few ideas: Read More »

One shoulder tops and dresses were huge on the runways this fall. Almost every show at fashion week featured the look. Perfect for a night out on the town with the girls, the one shoulder look is revealing but in a chic rather than “look at my boobs!” sorta way.
The key to this look is to keep it basic – the asymetry of the pieces stands out on its own so you don’t want to overpower the outfits with necklaces and other major statement accessories. Read More »

Ruffles always look so elegant and feminine – but that’s not why I love them so much. The best part about ruffles is that they can balance out your body. Small bust and big hips? Put on a top with some ruffles and – poof – an instant chest! Need to add some oomph to your bottom half? Throw on a ruffled skirt! Seen on the runways of Givenchy, Just Cavalli, Giambattista Valli, and others, ruffles are possibly the easiest way to emphasize and enlarge areas that you want to be on display while making other ares (i.e. your waist) appear slimmer. I have been a devotee of The Sartorialist for some time now, but this NYC street style blog can be a little high-winded sometime. Not that I don’t appreciate the fit and look of a fine Italian suit on a distinguished European gentleman, but I’ve scoped out some more relevant style blogs for you to procrastinate with.
Here’s the lowdown:
Street Peeper– like The Satorialist, but more cutting-edge and catered to a younger, hipper crowd– check out street styles from fashionable young things in NYC, Chicago, Berlin, Paris, Seoul and more.
College Fashion– this site divulges some great deals on trendy items like ballerina flats and, um, North Face fleeces? Whatever, they’re warm.
Style Tribe– stay up-to-date with runway styles with this site. Then go to College Fashion and buy the knockoffs!
Hel Looks– I can’t help myself: Helsinki street fashion. Why didn’t I study abroad in Finland.
Fashion Inc– a style blog for the girlier girl. Read up if you like billowy sundresses, flowy tops and long, wavy hair.
Any good fashion blogs we’re missing? Tell us your favorites – Leave a comment.

I have always been a fan of pockets. Back in my LipSmacker days, I used to tuck the tubes into the fifth pocket of my jeans and between the rolls of my cheerleading shorts. So obviously, when pockets started popping up on all of summer’s cutest dresses, my lipgloss and I were pretty stoked.
These pocketed frocks come in shapes and styles that look good on every body type and any type of budget. Ranging from super luxe (hello, Vanessa Bruno!) to less (I’m stopping by Forever21 tomorrow), these dresses were made for warm weather. All you need now is a new shade of gloss to stash in those pockets.

I love shopping for the trends just as much as the next girl. And with this season offering a plethora of choices from bright prints to sailor shorts, I often find myself debating if I want to spend my extra cash at the bar or the boutique.
And now I have another option to add into the mix: Bop Basics. Sure, we all need those trendy colorful pieces (even if we only will wear them for one season) but let’s get real for a second. We aren’t rolling out the door to class in our platform wedges and patterned smocked dresses are we? (I hope for your sake you aren’t one of those girls).
We need the essentials– the casual, comfy yet oh-so-cute pieces for our day to day lives of class and coffee runs. The clothes that make us look cute without looking like we are trying (even though we so are).
Well we’re in luck because from now until may 11th shopbop.com is offering 20% off their new exclusive Bop Basics line in honor of Mothers Day. Read More »
