You might think you know about all the important ones (CollegeCandy, Gmail, Google, TFLN…), but there are thousands of other sweet sites out there (like Keep Me Out, Hot List, and Wake Up Dialer) and more showing up every day! We get it – it’s not easy or fun sifting through the crap and porn to find those gems, so we’re gonna bring the gems to you. Just sit back, kick up those feet and allow us to introduce you to the diamonds in the internet rough.]
I spend a lot of time on the Internet. I read my news online. I shop online. I have even tried dating online. And in all my time (hours upon hours a day), I’ve never found a website quite as awesome as Ebates.com.
Here’s how it works:
Ebates is a referral site, meaning they get money for referring users to other shopping sites online. And they’ve got THOUSANDS in their arsenal. From Nordstrom to Drugstore.com to Groupon (!!), they work with what seems like every retailer on the Internet.
Now here’s where things get amazing.
Ebates shares their referral fee with us! Read More »

I’ve never been a designer-clothing type of girl. Not because I don’t like them, but just because I couldn’t afford them. Sure, there are tons of sale sites out there that carry designer brands for less, but it can be a pain to search through all the different sites for something that I actually like and can actually afford….before everything is sold out. Or at least that’s what I thought until I found Shop It To Me.
Shop It To Me isn’t like the rest of those sample sale sites that only feature a few select brands every day. On the contrary, it helps you find the most current sales on your favorite brands (designer or otherwise) in your size — it’s practically like having your own personal shopper–and it’s totally free. I’ve always dreamed of having my own personal shopper or stylist. Don’t get me wrong, I loooove to shop, but searching through racks and racks of clothes to find something I like can get exhausting, especially with those overly perky sales people breathing down my neck. And it might be nice to sometimes have things picked out for me by somebody else. Too bad that dream is unlikely to ever become a reality (that is, unless I win the lottery). Or, at least that’s what I thought before I found out about Covet, a free site that works as your very own online personal shopper.
How does it work?
The first step is the Stylyzer™. You are shown a series of two pictures of celebrity looks at a time, and you simply choose which is closer to your individual style for each pair. Once you’ve answered quite a few of these questions, you can continue on to create your style profile. You can also choose to answer more questions regarding your clothing and shoe sizes, brands you love and hate, and your price range for each product category. There’s even the option to specify specific types, colors, or patterns of clothing you don’t like so that you won’t get those suggested to you. Read More »

It’s no secret that I’m an online-shopping addict. I don’t always buy things when I online shop, though–a lot of times, I just like to browse my favorite stores’ sites when I’m bored. However, when there actually is something in particular I need (or want) to buy, I prefer to look for it online first rather than driving down to the mall and searching through hundreds of racks of clothes in dozens of different stores.
The problem is, online shopping can sometimes be almost as exhausting as the mall; you may not have to strap on the comfy shoes to walk miles from store to store, but there are thousands of online stores out there and having to search each one separately for the item I’m looking for can get pretty annoying.
Or, at least that’s what I thought before I found ShopStyle. Read More »

If you’re an online shopping junkie like me, you probably have tons of links stored in your favorites, saved to your desktop, or emailed to yourself of things you want to buy. Not the most organized shopping method; it gets so cluttered you’re left without that great sequins blazer you wanted because you couldn’t remember where you stored the link. And you do so much online perusing (it’s OK, we get bored during class, too) you can’t even track it down in your browsing history. R.I.P., sequins blazer.
Need a better plan of shopping attack?
Let me introduce you to the best thing that has ever happened to online shopping: Kaboodle. It is like your personal shopping assistant, keeping you organized and making sure you get the best deal on everything you’re searching for. Read More »

With the economy being what it is, I’ve found myself turning to the Internet more and more for both my daily necessities and my fashion cravings. If I see something in a store I like, I immediately look it up online, sometimes while I’m still in the store (thank you, iPhone), to find out if I can get it online for cheaper.
Other stores exist only in the online realm, and those can be very hit or miss. And when they’re selling items from a brand I’ve never tried before, it can be a bit nerve wracking ordering anything. Thank the recession gods, then, that there are websites that sell non-brand but still on-trend fashions for prices that are so low, I can browse, buy, and try out different styles without taking (too much) away from my rent money. Finals week drained me of a lot – my last pint of Cherry Garcia, my final cup of Folger’s, my sanity – plus the extra cash I had stashed in my wallet all semester. Cash that was supposed to help buy gifts for well, everybody, on my holiday gift list.
But it’s the holidays and sometimes magical things happen. So I’d like to extend a big THANK YOU! to the Holiday gods for sending this little gem my way: SwapStyle.com. It reminds me of my junior high days when my BFFs would bring over extra clothes for me to model and “borrow.” We all knew that “borrowing,” however, actually meant my friend would never see her A&F tee again. And she was cool with it, because she only brought it over because it made her look fat.
Yeah, so it’s just like that only on a much larger scale. Thanks to the information superhighway you can “borrow” clothes from women from all over the globe! That means you’re not limited to extra large, ratty Mickey Mouse T’s and super-flare Mudd Jeans from your somewhat-frumpy best friend’s wardrobe. Instead you can “borrow” Coach bags, Forever 21 dresses and MAC eyeshadows.
Plus, clothes-swapping is super environmentally friendly (you are reusing other people’s things instead of wasting new materials!) and the site is easy to use. Did I mention it’ s free to sign up?
Check it out here.
