Every girl knows that trying on clothes is a process. Redressing yourself over and over, fetching different sizes and deciding whether something actually fits can be painstaking, especially when you’re alone or not in the mood.
The new Magic Mirror may improve the fitting room experience for women everywhere. No more asking your disinterested boyfriend what he thinks of that dress — this mirror gives fashion tips and suggests matching accessories. If the item doesn’t fit, there’s no need to put on your clothes and head back onto the floor.
With the push of a button, the shopper can request another size in any particular item and it will be directly delivered to their fitting room. While the shopper is waiting for the item, fashion advertisements will play on the Magic Mirror. Read More »

Last semester, I woke up one day and realized I was completely out of money. I guess going to the Ralph Lauren Outlet a weekend earlier had been therapeutic for my mind but not my wallet. What’s a girl to do?
Instead of freaking out and starting to dumpster dive, my anxiety mobilized me to act. I started by cleaning out my closet. I isolated the items that sat in there and gathered dust (which was nearly everything) and spent a day listing them on eBay. A week later, I had made three hundred bucks off of old clothes and handbags (and, tear tear, brand – new discount Ralph Lauren Oxford shirts). I took the stuff that didn’t sell on the net to a resale shop in my neighborhood and scored another $20.
The best part was that most of the things I sold I hadn’t bought in the first place (thanks mom!), so I accrued a maximum profit. I’m the farthest thing from a business major, but I know that’s pretty sweet.
So if you’re short on cash, ditch your material sentimentality and purge your closet. You’ll end up with more than just monetary rewards: ebaying my life ended up being more therapeutic than the discount shopping. After I had shipped away my things, I felt the weight of hundred pounds lifted from my shoulders. Out with the old and in with the money! Next stop: MBA.
I love my man. I met him back in 6th grade, and I fell in love. I feel so blessed to have such a long, trusting realtionship. Every year, every season, he brings me so many pretty things. We have really grown together. He knows exactly what I like and every year, even with all my indecisiveness and ever-changing moods and tastes, he has stood up to the challange. And this year, Steve Madden, my main man (in shoes that is… although I would never object to dating a man who could literally make me the little old lady who lived in her shoe) has made me proud again by bringing a plethora of styles to feed my/your foot fetish.
And what’s more is that right now on SteveMadden.com and in Steve Madden stores nation wide there is a major sale going on. (um, who’s excited for the next rainy day?)
Steve’s shoes this summer are so similar to those of the uber–exclusive (read: muy expensivo) designers…. (many are much cuter and for ¼ of the price much more appealing) I saw a shoe JUST like these by Marc Jacobs. Adorable! Read More »

I’m having a Sex and the City déjà vu moment. I was watching the episode where Miranda decides that she’ll buy all new bed sheets under the theory that if her bed is a place she wants to be, then others will want to be there too. Or as Carrie put it, “if you build it, he will cum.” So, with that said, I head over to Bed, Bath & Beyond and decide that my even though my current sheets are white, fabulous and 800 thread-count, they are starting to look a little dingy and it’s time to invest in a new set. I’m plowing through the sheets…too green, too thick, too thin, too ugly, 250 thread-count…you must be joking…and I’m starting to realize that I’m just as picky with my sheets as I am with men!
It was just then that this amazingly hot, tall, sexy man appeared and was also eyeing the 600 thread-count white sateen cotton sheets that were on sale for $75 from $100…love. He must be gay. There’s no way that this perfect man could appear out of nowhere, be super hot AND have good taste. Read More »

Vince is hot. And no, I’m not talking about Adrian Grenier (although I wouldn’t mind that Vince next to my body all day long). This Vince, the Vince, in my mind, that everyone seems to be wearing, first hit the stores in 2003. But with prices just above the average shopper’s range, the luxurious tees and sweaters were mostly reserved for those with lots of cash.
But with the arrival of Vince in Bloomingdales this past fall, the clothing line slowly became somewhat affordable for us everyday girls. Yes, the prices are still a bit steep, but the fit and the fabric most certainly make up for the extra bit of cash you’ll have to save. Read More »

Nobody likes to wait.
Waiting in line at the grocery store when you have a Snickers bar and a head of lettuce, while the person in front of you is eighty-five-years-old and has five weeks worth of food, sucks. Waiting in the doctor’s office for three hours, and sitting on that crinkly, white paper, so the doctor can come in, check your vitals and charge you $300, sucks. Waiting for a star to fall, sucks. No really, it does – just check out the video.
But no other form of waiting sucks as bad as waiting for a guy to make his first phone call to you. Hands down, it’s the worst kind of waiting there is, because it takes you on quite an unexpected, emotional rollercoaster. Read More »
Every year, every season, fashion seems to be pretty particular. Kind of like the bitty old women who order their salads with extra tomato, hold the croutons, dressing on the side, and please use ONLY romaine lettuce– fashion trends the past few years have been distinct and particular.
Skinny jeans, vests, bubble dresses and wedges were seen in the collections of every designer from Marc Jacobs to Miu Miu to the guest designers for Target. I always like the idea of being told what’s “in.” My eye gets used to the new styles quickly and I felt sooo like LiLo (Lindsay Lohan) this year in my skinny jeans, skull tops and black nail polish.
So what gives now? Clearly the fashion geniuses of the world have been slacking/ not collaborating/ doing too many drugs to have any sort of open communication. Or maybe they decided to throw the ways of uniformity out the window and let originality take over, but either way, I for one am confused! It’s a smorgasbord of fashion out there and anything goes. Super-skinny, super wide, low rise, high-waisted (um, helllllo camel toe), big and printed shirts like the ones my grandma rocks when she goes to get her hair done, or form fitted and boyish (have you seen this springs Gap collection? boy scouts anyone?) Fashion this season is more fickle then I am at an ice-cream store (and trust me I am FI-CKLE). Read More »

Have you ever watched an awards show and wanted to copy a certain look? With the website, like.com, you can pick a certain item that a celebrity was wearing and search for similar pieces to buy online. It gives options for every price range from very cheap to very expensive.
Browse the looks by celebrity or just browse by the latest trend. So, you can simply search look-alike options for a designer handbag or necklace you have been eyeing instead of referring to a celebrity. It’s overall a great shopping site and style guide for new trends.
