[Like it or not, we all judge people every day. Especially when it comes to their fashion choices. From the girl with the too-short skirt for class to the old guy who insists on wearing short shorts and doing butterfly stretches at the gym (yeah, try to get that visual out of your head), it's impossible not to form an opinion. And now we're gonna share those opinions with the world. Every week, I'll be highlighting a celebrity look that I may love/hate/not understand and see what you, my college fashionistas, think about it. So put on your Joan Rivers fashion cap (which is undoubtedly made out of all the skin she's had nipped and tucked over the years) and let it all out.]
Thigh high boots can be tricky. Let’s face it, as much as we all love Pretty Woman, we don’t watch it for Vivienne’s sartorial choices (or at least I don’t). However, it seems that she was Nicole Scherzinger style inspiration for her outfit at the Capital FM Summer Ball. The strange thing with this outfit, whether it’s the black, the leather or the kinky-theme throughout, is that it weirdly…works. She isn’t trying to make the boots look non-trashy by pairing it with something demure or girly, she has kept the outfit consistent from head to toe. And let’s be honest, if anyone can pull this off, it’s Nicole. She’s been the figure-head of trashy-chic (yes, I just made that up) for years now and she does it well.
So, what do you make of her ensemble? Would you let her shop in your Rodeo Drive boutique, or would you hand her back to Richard Gere?

I don’t know what it is. Maybe it’s the fact she’s dating Justin Bieber, maybe it’s because at 21, I consider everyone younger than me to be children, maybe it’s just the fact that her face is not one of an eighteen year old, but Selena Gomez doing sexy kinda weirds me out. I know I wore much sluttier stuff when I was 18, and we’ve all seen the kind of stuff Miley Cyrus busted out the minute she turned legal, but Selena Gomez is just too cute.
Selena wore this striking D&G gown to the Billboard Music Awards, paired with red Giuseppe Zanotti strappy shoes. I absolutely adore this dress, but I can’t help thinking it’s a little too cut out, a little too sophisticated and grown up for Miss Gomez. I would have liked to have seen her in something a little more bright and fun, maybe a little more age-appropriate.
So, should Selena save the black until she gets a little older? Is this outfit hot or a hot mess? Let us know what you think!!

I will be more daring with my fashion choices.
Every year we make countless resolutions: lose weight, study harder, be more organized, be nicer to our family, not drink so much.
And usually, we don’t keep, well, any of them. Especially that last one, unless if by “not drink so much” you mean “throw up in the actual toilet more.” If that’s the case, then we get better and better every year!
But what about fashion? Sure, from the surface it doesn’t seem obvious that we should make fashion resolutions, but why not? Fashion is an extension of who we are. It’s the first thing people see when they meet us, therefore judging us by whatever fashion mishaps we might happen to be dealing with. And with a decade closing its doors, not only will it hopefully be leaving some of the fashion trends behind (uh, harem pants?!), but it’s the perfect time (a new year and a new decade) to think about what your fashion choices say about you.
So take a moment and think about what you want to look like in 2010. Here are just a few fashion resolutions for all of us.
1) I Will Be Original. We all love trends but do we need to walk around as cloned Urban Outfitters mannequins? This year, don’t let the trends wear you. You can be fashionable and trendy if you want to, but put your own unique touch into your wardrobe, be it a certain accessory, a pop of color, or a signature piece. Find your own personal style – that signature look that your friends will see and say “that is so (insert your name here).” Read More »

I was invited to an All White Boat Party a few weeks back. It was mandatory to wear white, head to toe, to this club-like cruise around Manhattan. So, right away, my first thoughts were: what am I going to wear?!
After shopping for what felt like days, I settled on this adorable two piece set; a pair of fitted, white capri’s with rhinestones on the pockets and a white t-back scoop tank that made my boobs look ferosh.
When we packed on the bus to head into the city, more than 50 people piled on in all different white outfits. The guys were lookin’ dapper in their white linen pants and crisp white button downs. The girls were looking…erm…well, let’s just say that I was the only one dressed, classy, yet sexy.
Most girls were wearing see through, skin tight, mini-dresses. One chick was wearing a sparkled bra from Victoria’s Secret as a shirt. No jacket. No cover up. No lie.
One girl’s dress was so low (like, I could see her belly button low) that we all got a nice glimpse of her nipple.
Again, no lie. Read More »
