God bless smartphones and Facebook. Where would our stalking abilities be today without those two? When our friends want to set us up with their hot friend, what’s the first question we ask? First and last name please! First impressions are no longer made in person, they happen through the Internet. Sad? Eh, maybe. But hey, much easier to weed ‘em out that way! If there’s zero potential for attraction or if the guy has “strip clubs” topping his list of interests, all I’m saying is that checking out his profile may save you from one miserable first date.
It’s obvious that technology makes the courting process easier, too. Being newly single for the past month, I’ve realized that every guy who has asked me out so far starts with Facebook. They send a message, we chat for a bit, they ask for my number, the messaging moves to texts and then finally we meet face-to-face. It may be a little depressing that a good ‘ol fashion, “Hi, would you like to go on a date with me?” is now considered creepy rather than endearing, but at least we’ve got some form of courting taking place these days! I am a huge sucker for, well, lack of a better word, stuff. I’m not A&E “Hoarders” bad, but I love to shop and I love fun, innovative products, even if they don’t really benefit me in any way. Neti Pot anyone?
2009 was a great year for awesome products; God knows everyone had to be creative this year and recession-proof any product launch. But which products were best?

Now available in leopard! If there was any kind of product phenomenon last year it was definitely the Snuggie. I sadly did not get one and I immediately turned Christmas-tree green with envy when I saw anyone’s status onFacebook reading “Just got a zebra print Snuggie from Grandma!” A blanket, with sleeves? If that’s not bringing brilliance, laziness and amazingness to a whole new level, well, I’m just not sure how it could be anymore American. Oh yes it can. Because now? You can get a Snuggie for your pooch! My Yorkie is totally getting hooked up for her birthday. Read More »

Being an Apple fanatic and all, it’s essential that I mention this Friday marks the debut of Mac’s first ever iPhone. In typical Mac fashion, the iPhone is expected to break boundaries by bringing smart phones into the mainstream market.
What’s so freakin’ special about the iPhone, you ask?
Basically, it’s every piece of technology you’ve ever owned or dreamed of owning rolled into one.
It comes standard with every basic phone feature you can imagine (speaker phone, call waiting, call holding, conference calls, etc.); it has a wide array of impressive features acting as a camera (that is undoubtedly of a higher quality than my LG camera phone that solely produces green tinted pictures) and multimedia player (a la the iPod); and it has video capabilties, allowing users to view television programs, music videos, or movies on their hand held device.
