[When moving into either a dorm or an off-campus apartment, your wardrobe will face two major challenges: 1. A major lack of funding (to add more to it), and 2. A major lack of storage space (for all the crap you've got). For these two reasons, maximizing what you already own becomes essential. That's why you need to learn to Shop Your Closet. Each week, I’ll show you how to wear 1 item 3 ways – with the stuff you most likely already own! – to get the most out of your purchases.]
I’m a huge fan of dresses. They’re feminine, comfortable and instantly make you dressed up, even if you just rolled out of bed. But despite my dress devotion, the colder it gets outside, the less inclined I am to actually wear one. Or at least, that’s how it used to be. Since I learned the art of layering, suddenly almost everything (chunky sweaters are the exception – there’s no way those can be worn in the middle of summer) in my wardrobe can be worn through all four seasons.
Especially the strapless dress.
It’s one of the easiest, most versatile dress styles to layer. Because you don’t have to worry about the awkward layering of different necklines, it’s easy to toss a shirt underneath. And like every other dress in your closet, throwing a cardigan or blazer over top is quick and chic. The other thing I like is that a lot of strapless dresses have more structure to them (in order to hold them up!) which means you can still show off your figure despite being completely covered up and cozy. OMG girls, I found THE dress.
You know which one I’m talking about. That summer dress that travels at the bottom of your purse everywhere you go. It works for any occasion, any location, at any time. And I have found it: Victoria’s Secrets Strapless Bra Top Dress. For once my wish list post won’t be a rant debating if I should purchase my newest obsession. At this point the only dilemma I’m having is what color to buy it in.
Let’s jump right into the reasons why this dress absolutely must be in every single one of our closets. The shape is to-die-for flattering. The sweetheart neckline is demure in a flirty, come-hither sort of way and the hemline falls not too short, not too long, but just right to be appropriate for work and play. The ruched, wrap bodice gives some extra accent to those of us lacking in the breast department, while the built in bra provides extra support for the lucky ladies with the ta-ta’s.
The dress comes in 11 colors and one print; it will literally fit into any wardrobe. From the edgy rocker who rocks it in purple cheetah, to the laid-back tomboy who wears it in navy, to the daring fashionistas who flaunt it in lime green. Read More »

[Most guys we know stay up late dreaming of the day they might end up in a giant orgy with beautiful women. We, however, lie awake at night dreaming of a closet full of beautiful clothes. To the left, a wall of shoes. To the right, shelf upon shelf of delicately handcrafted bags organized by color and size.
Sigh.
We all have our fantasies.
Since guys can turn to the interwebs to get their daily fantasy fix, we thought you should, too! So, we’re bringing you some fashion porn. The best of the best in all things fashionable. Sure, it may be out of your price range, but it’s a fantasy, so live it up in all its delicious glory.]
Dresses are to me as naked ladies are to boys: irresistible. And sexy. And the pictures I look at most on the internet. Though they are often associated with special occasions – probably due to the puffy versions with crinoline underskirts young girls were forced into – they don’t have to be. In fact, dresses are pretty much the easiest piece of fashion around: just slip it on and go. They have been quite popular for a few seasons now, which means there is something out there for everyone…or a million different somethings out there for each of us. Have you ever thought, “you know what? Screw traditional strapless bras, I want to squish my boobs into a semi-torture device!”
No? Well, someone has.
The Faveo Freedom Bra, invented by “scientist / business woman” Joanne Morgan, is supposedly the next best thing in undergarments, but looks to me like the next best thing in uncomfortable.
After buying a strapless dress and having no bra to wear with it, Morgan decided that instead of returning her purchase, she as going to whip something up herself. “I started to experiment with new ways to invent a bra.”
Morgan is quoted as saying, “I had my Eureka moment after a couple of glasses of wine.”
Her “Eureka moment” seems to consist mostly of a belty-strap thing that squeezes each individual boob and a piece of fabric that goes over the front. How this actually provides support or is even worth buying is beyond me, but maybe that’s just because I’m not a “scientist / business woman”.
