It’s July! BBQ’s on the weekends, roof top cocktails, brunches outside, iced coffee, flip-flops, sunscreen and…wool sweaters in the store window displays. That’s right, fall clothes are already in the stores and summer stuff is on sale!

Now is the PERFECT time to stock up on sundresses, shorts, swim suits, sandals and anything else that begs you to accessorize with SPF and a straw tote. First of all, I don’t know about where you live, but it JUST got warm in Chi town and I’m thinking (hoping, praying, begging) that it will stay this way until October — which gives me plenty of time to rock all my sale purchases. And of course, there will be December break, spring break with your girls, or next summer to wear these discounted duds. Not to mention you can use this opportunity to snag pieces that can be used in the early fall to transition your ‘drobe.

Just about every store from Bloomingdales to Old Navy are having fabulous sales right now. Here are three stores that have MAY-JOR sales going on and a few of my fave picks.

Ann Taylor- As if the sale price wasn’t enough, now ALL sale items are an additional 50% (yes you read that right!) off! Woot Woot! This eyelet dress is adorable, the citrus halter is playful and sexy all at the same time and the sandals are the perfect touch of femme and tough. Snap these bad boys up or else I will!

One of my favorite places to shop before school is J.Crew.  Everything about it is sophisticated, fresh and fabulous.  But my only issue with the store is that all that sophistication doesn’t come cheap. Sometimes I’ll walk in, pick up a cute skinny belt for my new pencil skirt (from Marshalls…), look at the price tag and try not to strangle myself with it.  $89 dollars for a string of leather???

As I repeat to myself, There are people starving in Africa, there are people starving in Africa, I promptly leave the store empty handed, looking wistfully back at the perfectly put together outfits in the window.

But thanks to store turnover and a whole new crop of Fall fashion pouring into J. Crew stock rooms nationwide, I can finally fulfill my J. Crew dreams. Every year it boggles my mind when boots and wool sweaters start showing up in stores in mid July.
I mean honestly, people! Sweat is dripping down my back and I’m supposed to be shelling out dough on the over-the-knee leather boots and colorful wrap scarves? I think not.

For some reason, whenever summertime hits I flock to Victoria’s Secret like a freshman to a kegger. It is inevitable that I get there and push past everyone to get to the keg underwear bin. Then tear those $2.99 panties out of that other girl’s hands.

Seriously though, Victoria’s Secret is so amazing for summer, especially the PINK line. All of the bright colors, soft breathable fabric, and summer-licious patterns. There’s just something about the store. I’m going to go ahead and blame the countless dollars I spend there on all of the fumes from Love Spell they spritz in the beauty section…
