Since the days of “Harder to Breathe,” I’ve been a fan of Maroon Five. A huge fan. So huge a fan, in fact, that in middle school I would belt out the lyrics to “This Love” in my Catholic school hallway. I like to think I was the trendsetter in middle school, who started singing the risqué lyrics (I really had no idea what they meant) and drooling over the ever-so-fine Adam Levine first. In reality, I was just another teenybopper mesmerized by the new band with the lustful front man.
Today, I’m still drooling over Adam Levine and dreaming that my childhood fantasy will come true and Adam will sing “This Love” to me on a bearskin rug in front of a roaring fire.
Ha, only in my dreams, right?
Not anymore!
Well, maybe the whole bearskin rug thing…

This week was all about men and, what can I say? I love me some men. With guitars. Who make good music. (That last one is key.) I highly enjoyed discovering a new band that’s quickly making its way up my favorites list. I also spent some time listening to an old favorite; a man I fell in love with while he was lead singer of a band and who I now get to adore all by his lonesome. And I fell even deeper in love, something I didn’t think was possible, with an old musical flame.
Yup, I had a big, beautiful music orgy this week and I just want more. Bring on the boys! Read More »

There’s No Doubt (sorry, couldn’t resist!) that Gwen Stefani rocks. She’s just got that amazing vibe and practically oozes that cool, natural, rock star attitude that every chick envies. And, hello, that woman’s got some maaajor talent.
So, what’s better than sexy, sassy singer Gwen? Gwen back in action with her former 3 band members and touring together once again! Hell ya, baby. Is there anything better than a little Tragic Kingdom…live? I think not.
This summer is going to be insane for No Doubt fans! The kick-ass tour starts June 10 in Virginia and heads across the country, from coast to coast. And you, my CollegeCandy friends, can see it all live. FOR FREE!
Excuse Me, Mr.? (Sorry, had to do it again…)
Yes, it’s true. CollegeCandy is going to make your No Doubt dreams come true. We’re giving away a $150 Ticketmaster gift certificate for you to buy 2 tickets to the concert in your town. And, since we’re oh so generous, we’re also going to give away one (1) $50 iTunes gift card to download the entire No Doubt discography and two (2) autographed copies of No Doubt’s The Singles 1992 – 2003!*
It’s like No Doubt heaven!

Ah, summer. It’s so close I can taste it.
And hear it?
Days on the beach, drinks on patios, and BBQs with friends. And music, lots of music. One of the very best things about summer is going to outdoor concerts. And there are so many amazing tours this summer, I have a feeling I’m going to be at a concert pretty much every single week. And concerts mean music, beer, and friends. Which is pretty much heaven for me. Here are some of the biggest and best summer tours you should keep your eye (and ear) on. Read More »

Oh, K. Clarkson! What is going on with you?
It’s just been reported that Kelly Clarkson has cancelled her summer tour! Apparently, K.C and her gang want time to “re-evaluate her show’s size and scope”—which really means ticket sales were slumping and it was either play to half-capacity crowds or cancel the whole thing.
“The day when [Kelly] will play in sold-out arenas is, no doubt, coming, but for now her fans should look forward to seeing her in a more intimate concert environment.” Says Gregg Perloff, CEO of Another Planet Entertainment, in a press release that went out today. “Kelly deserves a tremendous amount of praise for her courage in not only being a part of, but in supporting, this difficult decision.”
As someone who’s seen K. Clarkson in concert (the tickets were free, and I genuinely like the girl…or think I do…based on a relationship that consists of me reading articles about her), I have to say that she puts on a great show, and actually sounds just as good live as she does prerecorded.
