So the damn groundhog saw his damn shadow, which means we are in for 6 more glorious weeks of winter. Splendid. WTF, Phil? Why do you hate us so much.
Upon hearing the news we wanted to head to Phil’s hometown and beat the crap out of him (so. sick. of sweaters.), but our therapist (Oprah) always talks about focusing on positive things. So we will.
Instead of hating on Phil – because, afterall, it’s not his fault – we thought we’d make a list of the 5 things and people we currently hate more than Punxatawny Phil. Yay us! We’re so positive! Read More »

[Welcome to my Weekly Love List, a list on all things I love. Because if I love them, well, obviously you should love them too. As the Backstreet Boys song says (and yes, I am actually quoting them) “My Love is All I Have To Give.” So with that throwback, here are this week’s list-worthy things…]
I’ll be the first to admit it. I love Superbowl Sunday for three reasons and three reasons only:
1.The food
2. The advertisements (Remember Britney Spears’ Pepsi commercial/music vid that debuted during the Superbowl? Sigh. Those were the days)
3. The food
There used to be 4 but then Justin showed Janet’s boobs, the FCC went crazy, and the halftime shows became lamer than my past few Saturday nights, which included watching Little Einsteins with my nephew (need I say more?).
Anyways, here is my Super Bowl inspired Love List. Because with the biggest sporting event of the year comes a lot of food things to love. Read More »

Guys usually watch the Superbowl for the actual football game (or in some cases *ahem, my dad* as an excuse to shove as much pizza and wings they can get down their throats). As a sports-crazy girl (go Duke basketball!) I also watch it for the action, but I can understand if some non-sporty people don’t feel as enthusiastic about a bunch of big, padded guys running into each other and chasing after a little ball. At least, that’s how my mom puts it.
But she’s found an entertaining reason to join our whole family during this epic February event: the commercials. This year, NBC Superbowl commercials will cost companies $3 MILLION dollars for 30 seconds of air time! That’s equal to $100,000 for 1 second. Aren’t we in a recession?
Anyway, to celebrate the fact that our economy is in shambles but we still have enough money for ads with talking frogs and cowboys chasing cats, here are my favorite 5 Superbowl commercials of all time: Read More »

So, in preparation for the big game on Sunday (which I know absolutely nothing about. Seriously; who’s playing again?!), we decided it’d been fun to put together a pregame playlist of some of our favorite jock jams. You know, in addition to the bowls and bowls of guac we are getting ready to eat.
But, since I haven’t watched a sporting event in like, YEARS, I don’t have the slightest clue as to what they play at these things anymore. So I present to you College Candy’s Jock Jams Playlist 2009…which is actually more like CC’s Jock Jams playlist circa 1999.
Either way, what CC reader doesn’t miss and love 90’s music?
Exactly.
Pump up the jams here.

An excuse to still love Barbie…
Stinky, smelly, black algae will make your skin look and feel fabulous!
Did Tony Romo cheat on Jessica?!
College apps process is about to get a whole lot easier!
Shia LeBeouf keeps getting weirder…
PETA’s commercial was rejected by the Super Bowl. Gee, I wonder why?
MAC’s “Naked Honey” collection is perfect for summer!
Rihanna is hot!
I want one of these, but I wouldn’t ride it in clear platform heels…
Get Vanessa Hudgen’s look for less!

As preparations for Super Bowl Sunday commence, you may be wondering how your upcoming football fiestas will contribute to the post-holiday weight loss plan you drew up on January 2nd. You’ve been faithful to your diet since you packed on a few lbs with an abundance of Christmas cookies and egg nog, but now you will be faced with temptation. In the form of dips and the fried things you stick in them.
As someone that has never been able to look the other way when there are snacks on the table (and feel a constant urge to reach out my hand and grab a few them all), I have come up with some healthier options to help you stay slim and satisfied at the same time.
What not to make/eat: Grandma´s Seven Layer Mexican Chip Dip
We´ve all sampled this delicious partner to the trusty Tostito. Made with one layer each of refried beans, sour cream, guacamole, cheese, salsa, olives and lettuce, you’re bound to gobble up hundreds of calories. Add tortilla chips or tacos to the mix and you’ll really be in trouble. Plus, it´s so good that you know you won´t stop eating after just a few bites. Read More »

It’s Superbowl season and you know what that means. Well, if you’re me it means nothing as I hate sports, but to others it’s the season of greasy snack food, beer, and two toned shirts.
And to retailers it’s the season to lower prices on TVs.
Yes, this is the season to buy a new TV. As this is one of the largest viewing events of the year, the prices of TVs are being slashed to make purchasing that new set as easy as possible for that avid football nut. I mean, it’s far easier to convince your wife/girlfriend/sig other that it’s a good buy when it’s $500 off (after mail in rebates).
But even if you’re not really into the game, now would still be a good time to upgrade from that old tube set. Flat screen TVs are easier to fit into small spaces, provide a much better picture and are just so pretty. Below are some pretty fantastic deals happening now. Read More »
