2010 is officially coming to a close and what a year it’s been in music! This year presented us with an awesome array of new artists, re-introduced us to some ones we may have forgotten about, and of course, left some songs in our heads we wish we would never have to hear again. So let's take a look back and rock out to the 20 biggest songs of 2010. (It’s like my own little Grammy’s!!)

2010 is officially coming to a close and what a year it’s been in music! This year presented us with an awesome array of new artists, re-introduced us to some ones we may have forgotten about, and of course, left some songs in our heads we wish we would never have to hear again.

So let’s take a look back and rock out to the 20 biggest songs of 2010. (It’s like my own little Grammy’s!!)

Some of the biggest names to enter the pop scene in 2010 include B.o.B, Bruno Mars, Mike Posner and Taio Cruz. All of them were <del>hot</del> able to make big names for themselves by earning multiple slots on the Billboard charts with huge hits like “Cooler Than Me.” It was a nice, refreshing change to the usual women of music (Ke$ha, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, and Katy Perry) who seemed to constantly and incessantly rule the airwaves (and YouTube – I’m lookin’ at you, Bad Romance!). And while everyone was going goo goo for Gaga, I’d say Katy Perry was the real queen of pop this year, immediately releasing three megahits off her new album, Teenage Dream.

The music scene was also shaken up by the comebacks of huge artists like Eminem, Usher, and Train who all reminded the world <del>that they’re still alive </del>of who they are and what their music is all about in a big, overplayed way. In addition, we got to hear all different assortments of collaborations from the relatively-unknown-artists-at-the-time, B.o.B and Bruno Mars with “Nothin’ On You,” to the massively famous, all-star duo of Eminem and Rihanna on “Love The Way You Lie.” What probably startled the pop scene the most this year, however, was Lady Antebellum’s, “Need You Now.” I’m not sure I can think of any other recent country song (other than all of Taylor Swift’s, of course) that’s received that much airtime on pop radio stations.

And, lastly, drum roll please… this year’s best and worst! I think I’m gonna have to go with “Airplanes” by B.o.B featuring Paramore’s Hayley Williams and “Bedrock” by Young Money for this year’s best, for both providing us with fresh new sounds and rhymes. As for this year’s most obnoxious, overplayed hits – I think I have to hand this award to both the infamous “California Gurls” and “Rude Boy.” If I never had to hear those overly repetitious songs again, I’d die a happy woman.

Of course, with NYE right around the corner, I have a feeling I’ll be hearing both of them (and their dance remixes) blasting from the DJ booth in 3 short days.

But until then, why don’t we all take some time to indulge in the megahits of 2010 – the ones we loved, the ones we’re sick of, and the many that we’ve totally forgotten about since radio stations only play the same 6 songs over and over and over again. Do I smell an awesome New Year’s Eve pre-party playlist? Rock on, friends. Rock on.

30 Rock‘s, Tracy Morgan, spoke up in Maxim’s latest issue about his collection of tattoos. Most were standard – a cross, some names, etc. But one seemed to stand out (no pun…you’ll see) a little more than the rest.

Morgan confessed to having the words “Stove Top” tattooed along the side of his wee wee.

Yes, “stove top,” as in the instant stuffing.

“I’m pretty well-endowed. A girl told me to get that because I stuffed her up like a turkey. She said, ‘You should call that Stove Top!’”

Hysterical (and slightly disturbing). I mean, think of the pain of getting a tat down there, the poor tattoo guy that has to do it. And just how many men are doing this!? Of course, it also got me thinking of what other funnies a man could ink downtown.

(Note: It is Friday. We are hungover and ready for the weekend. Please understand that as you read on. We just can’t help it.)

A ruler (assuming it’s something to be proud of)

Maybe a dragon to represent the one-eyed monster that it is?

A hot dog bun

If he’s a techy guy, maybe some RAM or a Hard drive.

A cookie dough package. Girls never could resist cookie dough.

A train with the words, “all aboard!”

“Use for front door only.”

“Homemade in the USA” (We are all about the American Pride these days.)

Some directions for use, maybe?

And, if he wants to get really serious, maybe incorporate the entire region and turn it into a Pinochio face. Except in this story, his “nose” grows for a good reason.

What others can you think of?

For those unfamiliar with the Rapex, it is an “anti-rape condom”. Basically, it’s a condom worn inside of you with barbs that, should any man put his hoo ha where it is not welcome, it will be stuck with barbs removable only by a doctor.

When I saw this my only thoughts were What. The. F**k?! Why, why was this permitted to be patented?

For those unfamiliar with the Rapex, it is an “anti-rape condom”. Basically, it’s a condom worn inside of you with barbs that, should any man put his hoo ha where it is not welcome, it will be stuck with barbs removable only by a doctor.

Naturally, this raises a few questions, many of which can be answered by the website’s extremely helpful FAQ section.

The first question, of course: “When should I wear the Rapex?”

According to the website I should wear it when I: “travel long distances alone, on a train, working late, going out on a date with someone you don’t know too well, going to clubs, or in any situation that you might not feel comfortable or even just not sure.” So I guess I should just be practicing constant vigilance? At no point in my day should I forget that I– as the owner of a vagina–am always susceptible to rape, and this device will always allow me to have it in the back of my mind!

Secondly, how does this change my relationship with, ya know, the other half of the human race? Well, I know I don’t have to worry about my boyfriend being hooked, “unless you are in a violent relationship and you do get raped by your husband or partner. The choice is then yours whether to wear it or not. ” Whew! Thank you Rapex, for giving me that option!

So I guess I’m pretty much covered Rapex, thanks to your innovative thinking, and also thanks to answers based on questions like these: “What happens if my child finds it in the waste paper basket and sticks his finger into it?”, “Can this be worn during masturbation?”, and “What if I am asleep and someone enters my house and tries to rape me?”

I mean, they pretty much all have the same gist: wear our product 24-7 not out of fear but out of responsibility and a safeguard against the inherent viciousness of all men.

The only questions that really occurred to me that weren’t addressed on your site I’ll just post here and possibly you could get back to me on them?

Just how many light years does this set us back as far as the whole feminist movement thingey majig? I mean, I totally understand why we should revert to the dark ages and all women should live in constant fear of all men, and we’re all potential rape victims…but exactly, how many years (approx) are we exactly going back?

Another thing I came to ponder, was what inspired this brilliant stroke of genius? I know you don’t hate men (“just rape!”–a novel opinion, let me just say), but it seems sort of insulting to blanket-assume pretty much every Tom, Dick and Harry we pass by on the street is probably going to drag us into an alleyway and have their way with us (obviously to be prevented by your device, though.) I guess it’s no more insulting though, than helping us girls adapt to rape.

Yesterday, as I read One D At a Time, I couldn’t help but agree with the blogger’s thoughts on feminist vs feminist hateration. And her discussion of Camille Paglia’s theories on Date Rape as a new method of fear mongering couldn’t apply to anything more than they do to this. Look, I understand that rape is a real threat to all of us. But by insisting that we must assume responsibility “Simply because your body is sacred and it is your legal and moral right to be safe. Nobody can make you safe except you. You do not have to secure your home, equally you do not have to secure your body, however it is better if you do so,” you reiterate society’s subconscious implications that, in the end, it’s our fault we get raped.

Thoughts on these ideas, ladies? On Rapex itself?
