I don’t know about you, but Thanksgiving did a bit of a number on my body. After exercising regularly and eating moderately healthy for a couple of months, I went home and proceeded to gorge myself for approximately four days straight. The end result – a food baby. So while usually I’m all about sleek, bodycon ensembles, this week, I wanted to find a fashionable but forgiving ensemble, and luckily, the lovely Ashley Greene (the best Cullen?) delivered.

This cream colored silk shirt is loose, without being unflattering or creating an awkward silhouette.   Wide leg trousers have been making a huge comeback this year, and I love that they’re in denim form as well, for a more casual look. It’s also nice to see the pendulum swing away from making jeans as tight as humanly possible. A gray blazer adds some structure and definition to add a more chic element. A classic black leather(ish) bag never fails as an accessory, and rich purple pumps add a splash of color. This is a great laid back look that is relaxed while still being cute and stylish.

I always feel bad for Nikki Reed. I know she’s in the Twilight movies, but she definitely feels more like a third or fourth tier cast member. I feel like whenever anyone thinks “ladies of Twlight,” Kristen Stewart and Ashley Greene are the first to come to mind, and Nikki only gets recognition/interviews when Kristen and Ashley are otherwise preoccupied. Although at the end of the day, she’s getting far more bank than I ever will (and has way better hair than I do), so maybe I should save my pity for someone more deserving. But why does she look like a gun is being held to her head on the cover? She’s too pretty to look so deranged.

Luckily, the inside of the magazine is a lot more aesthetically pleasing. There’s an abundance of cute holiday fashion (at mostly reasonable prices). I also really appreciate that Seventeen did not promote dieting this issue. They supported eating your favorite treats, but emphasized the importance of moderation. I definitely prefer that message to deprivation, so brava Seventeen. Of course, no issue is complete without relationship advice. This month was definitely focused on “decoding” guys. Without further ado…

Seventeen says: When a guy puts his arm around you, he’s testing the waters.
Jasmine says: This may be legit at the beginning of a relationship, but also, the arm cuddle is definitely one of the most relaxed, publicly acceptable forms of affection, and if you’ve been dating for awhile, he just likes being affectionate with you.

Seventeen says: When a guy says “Gotta go” on IM, it’s not a snub. He’s just busy.
Jasmine says: I don’t think so. Normally a guy would say something like “I have to walk my dog” or “gotta finish this paper” or, you know, specific examples. “I got to go” sounds more like a shady avoidance measure.

Seventeen says: A guy who puts his feet on your lap is bored in your relationship.
Jasmine says: As part of a Mutual Foot Rest Society, all I can do is laugh at this. If anything, this means he’s very comfortable and feels close to you.

Seventeen says: When a guy says “I’m not sure where this is going” it’s not necessarily a breakup.
Jasmine says: …no way. If a guy doesn’t know where this is going, but he knows he likes you, he would never say this. That phrase is a definitely a passive aggressive breakup maneuver.

Seventeen says: “Sorry, I have to bail on you tonight” is not a blow-off.
Jasmine says: Yes, yes it is. Especially if it doesn’t include a rescheduling caveat. Oh, Seventeen, stop inspiring false hope. Yes, guys can be bad communicators, but they are also surprisingly adept at giving signs that They’re Just Not That Into You.

• Michael Lohan went to the hospital. Our prayers are with the doctors and anyone else who’s holiday was ruined by Michael Lohan.

• Wal-Mart shoppers rioted over a $2 waffle maker. Reporters are ecstatic over the news. I mean, they knew there would be stampedes, but nothing quite this exciting!

• The new Twilight movie is causing seizures. It’s also causing grown women to act like horny prepubescent girls. But no one is reporting that news today.

• Kirsten Dunst went make-up free at the airport. How very brave of her!!!

• There was some kind of balloon parade in NYC yesterday. I think it might have been a one-time thing. So you should look at photos now, because this parade might not happen ever again.

•Lady Gaga says she posed nude. We say that’s her most boring outfit yet!

• The crazy “inject-anything-into-my-butt-to-make-it-bigger” story keeps getting more ridiculous.

• A deleted scene from Harry Potter was released. Harry4eva!

• Aziz Ansari wants you to spit. It’s for a good cause, so just watch the video. For realsies.

Breaking Dawn came out on Thursday night and in it’s four-day span in the box office, it’s already earned $140 million. Now, I know Twilight is really awesome to Twilight fans, and I used to be one. But I simply can’t bear seeing Kristen Stewart be awkward anymore, and it still bums me out that Robert Pattinson has forgotten his Harry Potter roots. I’m not judging anyone for  seeing Breaking Dawn because I did it for all of the Harry Potter movies, and I’ve spent a lot of money on that franchise. I started to wonder what I could do with all of that cash if I hadn’t spent it on seeing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 like six times. In 3D. With popcorn.

I’m sure I don’t have to remind all of you Twi-hards what movie is coming out this weekend. But for all of the rest of us who don’t care about Kristen Stewart or Taylor Lautner’s abs, guess what? Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part One is coming out this weekend! Yes, they have broken the final book into two movies (kind of like a better series of books about wizards did), and now we get the pleasure of seeing a bunch of crazies lined up outside movie theaters all weekend.

The trailer for the movie makes it look like a dramatic, werewolf-filled episode of Vampire Teen Mom. I live-blogged while I watched the trailer to give you all a better idea of what this AMAZING movie is actually about.
