So here goes:

Tripp is so out, Nate is so in, and finally the world is back in order!

For those of who you who got caught up in the Tripp/Serena drama of last week and were still somehow pulling for this pathetic pushover, let me remind you of all the things he has done wrong since being introduced on Gossip Girl: He had an affair, he lied to Serena and left her in a house with no cable (but some really old pot), he agreed to an “open relationship” with his wife, he abandoned Serena in the midst of a car wreck and could have killed her by moving her, and he lets his psychotic bitch of a wife control him. Oh and did I mention the creepy factor that he’s dating 19-year-old? I mean, even though he’s a pretty hot congressman, that’s still pretty gross.

And the guy is just pathetic. He wants to give up his entire career for a teen socialite? Yeah, she’s got great hair but is that worth giving up your career?  Then he let’s his wife call all the shots, do crazy and illegal things and stands by her as she manipulates the entire UES for her own sick dream of being a politician’s wife (she’s certainly got the wardrobe down pat…). God, I thought Blair was evil, but this Maureen woman makes her look like Mother Theresa.

This entire situation is just one big lesson for all of us: don’t canoodle with a hot, young married politician who has a crazy wife who will bring down your family just so she can do a little wave outside of a helicopter behind the White House. Lesson learned, GG. Lesson learned.

Moving on.

While I was finally able to arouse some compassion for Serena (who wouldn’t when the poor girl’s head is bleeding in the front of an old Range Rover?), most of my heart went out to the one and only Chuck Bass. What? Homeboy looks good when he’s being haunted by his dead father. And we really got to see a side of Chuck that doesn’t come out often enough (much like his naked side…). I have no idea when Blair got to be so understanding and patient, but as Bart’s shadow haunted Chuck, she stuck around and showed her caring and compassionate side time and time again.  And while we all got flashes of Bart Bass, girls crowded around my little 13” TV just to see Chuck’s compassionate side grow.

And then we cried.

But not all of the “couples” on the show found such happiness.  Dan is still pining for Vanessa, but his “I love you” in the heat of the overbearing hospital fluorescent lights (where she was looking rather orange) was unrequited.  Jenny and Erik may have had a 5 second love session by the hospital coffee machine, but I’m pretty sure Drug-Dealin’-Jenny didn’t mean any of it.  And Lily and Rufus are headed for some tough times ahead…even though I STILL don’t know what is in that letter.  (What the hell could it be? I mean, the letter was written to Serena; what could be so bad?) All I can guess is that this isn’t the last we will be hearing from Dr. Van Der Woodsen.

Between Serena’s father and Chuck’s mother (assuming that the tabloids have it right and that was indeed Chuck’s mother), we are all in for a rude awakening come January. Yes, I said January. Because Gossip Girl won’t be back until then. What the hell am I going to do with my Mondays now!?

I guess I’m just gonna have to start back at Season 1…

Whoever said Thanksgiving was a time for family harmony obviously never met the Van Der Woodsen family. I mean, my god, how insanely brilliant was that Thanksgiving feast! It was like the best 7 minutes of Gossip Girl ever. From Vanessa yelling at her uber annoying mom, to Jenny and Erik (“I think your sweet potatoes are bland.” BURN!), to all that extramarital affair business down at the other end of the table, I was jumping off my futon! And to have Jason Derulo playing in the background as it all went down?

I almost died.

And the episode just kept getting better and better.  The only sore spot was that awful puppy-dog look Dan kept giving Vanessa.  Mr. Humphrey, a quick word of advice: do not get involved with that one again. Not only will you risk that awesome friendship, but you will have girls around the country shielding their eyes and yelling “Stop!” whenever you and Vanessa kiss onscreen.

I know – she’s gotten a lot cuter and her fashion choices have definitely improved this season, but I’m still not lovin’ her. It’s bad enough she gets to roll around naked with Chuck Bass in real life; don’t make me steal my other TV boyfriend in Gossip Girl life.

But enough about those two; the real drama award of the day goes, once again, to Serena Van Der Woodsen.  WTF is up with this girl? She’s making it incredibly difficult for me to like her anymore. (I’m pretty sure her wardrobe is the only reason I’m holding on.) It’s like she’s trying to make the worst decisions of all time. OK, I get it. Tripp is sexy, but hooking up with a married man is something I’ve been frowning on lately (especially since I started studying Clinton and Lewinsky in my journalism class). And does she have any idea how ridiculous it would look if some Congressman left his wife and his career for an 18-year-old girl who never went to college?! Although, seeing as she’s still sporting those awful press-on nails, it doesn’t seem like Serena understands ridiculous anymore.

If only Lily had known what she was inviting into her home when she invited Maureen’s woman’s intuition over for Thanksgiving.  That is one crazy wife…she’ll do anything to keep her man.  And that means running away with him, blackmailing with make-out elevator videos, and maybe hitting Serena in a car?  But we’ll find that out next week.

Maybe Serena should just stick to college boys… you know, like poor Nate Archibald.  Instead she’s treating Nate like nothing almost happened last week, hooking up with his cousin (in a freaking elevator) and running away with him instead. Maybe Nate should have told her his feelings without his shirt on…

Oh sorry; got carried away there for a moment. Anyways, this episode left me with a lot of burning questions and they all better be answered fast:

Where was Lily when she was supposed to be engaging in some mother-daughter bonding?
What does Erik have up his sleeve to ruin Queen Bee Jenny?
What on earth is in that damn letter from Doctor Van Der Woodsen?
And how on earth could Lily Van Der Woodsen-Bass-Humphrey (whatever her name is…) be wearing the same jacket at Tripp’s wife? This is the UES, after all.

We better get some answers soon.  Otherwise, there will be some serious Christmas drama on the horizon.

GGR (Gossip Girl Recapper)

It was like any Monday night around here. I came back from the gym, had a little dinner, did a little reading and gathered with the roomies to watch some Gossip Girl. There was the usual Jenny drama (homegirl is such a bitch!), some witty banter, a funny ploy by Chuck to get Serena and Blair to make up (he just keeps getting dreamier)…and makeout, and ho-humness over at NYU.

But then, 35 minutes later, Olivia downed her shot of mysterious clear liquid and everything changed. (Including Hilary Duff’s clean-girl image!) First Olivia’s kissing Dan. Then Olivia’s kissing Vanessa. Then Dan is KISSING VANESSA!

Yes, this is the threesome we’ve been hearing about for a week now.

I know it’s not real. I know it’s TV. I know good and well that this isn’t some “Hills” situation where we’re supposed to think it’s real even though all signs point to fake (lips). But, still, I screamed. I screamed and I covered my eyes and I shied away from the TV until the scene was over. It was all just so…awkward. And uncomfortable. And shocking!

Was this the group of three that I was expecting to see getting it on? Hell no. And I’m pretty sure (even before I saw the scenes for next week, people!) that it’s not going to turn out well. I mean, I’m all for sexual experimentation, but, as Nate says, the third person should be a stranger…not your best friend who has been in love with you since you were playing in alleys in Brooklyn.

And I’d just like to say that I’ve never partook in a threesome…but I still think I’ve lived a very full, very real college life, thankyouverymuch.

I can’t wait to see Dan Humphrey try to get himself out of this one next week when some serious ish goes down in the East Village. Vanessa, having finally gotten a piece of the Humph, will realize that she loves him and start to annoy me even more than she already does, there will be tension between Olivia and Dan because they had a drunken threesome, and if Hilary Duff leaves the show, I may cry.  Drama to ensue.

But back to this week. The threesome wasn’t the biggest drama of the night. Not when it’s Cotillion season!

Is this a real thing? Do rich girls really start taking ballroom dance lessons when they’re young? Who knows, but it’s a really big deal to this group of high society high schoolers and Jenny is taking it the most seriously of all. Stepping on people’s toes (both literally and figuratively), pissing off Erik, waging war on Blair…. and then seeing all her hard work crash around her when her ticket to getting some respect (and possibly some booty from a pretty cute piece of UES man-meat) ends up arm in arm with someone else. Someone shorter, runette-r, more… hugable.

Sure, Jenny saves her reputation by dragging Nate into the whole mess (“A college guy!” Seriously, how dense are these girls? Don’t they know she used to date him? Isn’t that enough to get her some RESPECT? Whatever…), but that doesn’t change the fact that she has made herself a serious enemy. And his name is Erik. And he’s pissed. Not only did Jenny desert him, but she was the cause of his breakup with Jonathan (let’s pause for a moment to mourn this one) and there is no doubt in my mind that Erik is going to come back with his new little sidekick and wreak havoc on her thrown.

But does that new chick really have what it takes? You know, without Blair’s beauty assistance? We’ll have to wait and see.

Things to look forward to:  Blair and Serena have made up, so that means we can focus on Blair and Chuck sex scenes instead of Blair and Serena fight scenes.  Also, Serena has some serious tension (of the sexual nature, rawr!) with married congressman Tripp Vanderbilt.  But that might go on hold when she learns that Daddy finally wrote her back.

Things I’m dreading:  Everything about that threesome.  Especially the flashbacks that are sure to come next week. Oy.

We’ll see how this all comes crashing down next week.

Just when you think everything is fine on the Upper East Side those Archibalds toss some dude in the water and really throw you for a loop. And, of course, Vanessa is there to capture the entire thing on tape.

Scandalous!

Last night’s Gossip Girl was full of all sorts of scandal. From the twisted, convoluted and sorta hard to follow situation behind Tripp Vanderbilt’s campaign (really? His wife somehow orchestrated that whole thing??) to Blair’s new super-old-looking-call-girl of a BFF, it was a roller coaster of an episode.

But let’s start at the core of it all: Blair and Serena’s waning friendship. While these two are far hotter/richer/better dressers than I could ever be, I really connected to their situation. I’ve been there and I know what it’s like to be on the outs with a very old friend. On the one hand, you wanna make up and move on out of respect for your long history together. But on the other, who you are at 18-years-old is not who you were at 12 and maybe the new people you’ve both become weren’t meant to be friends.

So what do you do?

Well, if you’re me you just accept that people change, make new friends that love you as you are right now and move on. If you’re B and S, you try to make the other person jealous with a douche bag Hollywood boyfriend/well dressed prostitute and then shove someone’s head in a cake. I think either way will work, but Blair and Serena definitely chose a more fun version to watch.

Will they reconcile? Probably, but I’m counting on a lot more evil plotting and scheming before either of these vixens waves the white couture flag and surrenders.

And speaking of scheming, what the H-E-double hockey sticks, Nate? When are you going to choose a personality and run with it? I am really sick of trying to figure out if today you’re the good guy who hates your gramps and all his lying and manipulating, or if you’re following suit and lying and manipulating too. Granted, I was happy to see the return of your mangs (man bangs), but I would have enjoyed it all a whole lot more if you went back to the Nate that Vanessa could love.

Or at least the Nate who had hot, passionate sex with Serena in the first season.

ANYTHING is better than weird, family oriented, scary Nate. It’s annoying and rather unbelievable, to be honest. You’re no Chuck Bass so stop trying.

No one can be Chuck Bass. No one. Sigh. Chuck. Chucky. Chuckeford. I fall more and more in love with him with each passing episode. It’s insane – I’ve been quite happy with my single status for the past few months, but watching Chuck snuggle up to Blair at the end of last night’s episode made me want – no, need – a boyfriend. She just looked so happy and safe there. And he was so loving and real.

…And he owns a hotel.
Come on, who couldn’t fall in love?

But, alas, I do not have me a Chuck. All I’ve got is the knowledge that there’s gonna be some sort of threesome next week. Will it somehow involve me and Chuck? Probably not, but I think it still might be just as good.

Remember when Jenny Humphrey was just a cool, normal chick from Brooklyn? You know, before she dropped out of school to become a punk rock fashion designer and well before she became the biggest bitch on the UES?

She’s come a long way since those days. And even though she’s sporting over-sized t-shirts and men’s ties instead of bedazzled headbands, Jenny Humphrey is quickly surpassing Blair Waldorf as the meanest Queen in school. Yeah, we all thought she could live in both worlds – sweet Jenny at home and big, scary Jenny on the steps – but she proved us all wrong. First she demands almonds without the skin and then she dumps a perfectly good yogurt on her brother?

WTF, Jenny? There are starving children in Africa! You get twelve shopping bags from Bergdorf’s and suddenly you have no respect for the people who care about you most?  Seriously, girl, get a clue. And a hairbrush. Those extensions are lookin’ a little, well, nappy.

And speaking of evil-doers, let’s take a trip to Chuck Bass’s new world. The world that was almost ruined by selfish, needy Blair. The guy only has 24 hours to make his hotel a giant success – standard – and Blair’s ego gets in the way, almost costing him everything. Not that anyone had any doubt in Chuck’s abilities. Those eyes, that hair, that cute hat and suit combo… er…I mean, he’s smart and business savvy just like his daddy-o, so obviously he’d pull everything together and have the hottest hotel in NYC in under 24 hours.

I mean, that’s normal for a rich 18-year-old, right?

Luckily, everyone got out of the busted party unscathed (and Serena even picked up a new boy-toy!). If only it were that easy in the real world where I’ve found myself tearing off my heels and running through the bushes to get away from the PoPo that has come in search of under-age imbibers. I’d much rather have my photo taken by a bunch of paparazzi like Dan and Olivia than hide out in a bathroom until the police finally head out.

And going home with a mega moviestar wouldn’t be so bad, either. Although, I don’t know about you, but if I were Dan I’d feel less than excited to bump and grind with a talented actress like Olivia. I mean that girl does sex scenes for a living. With her hot Hollywood ex boyf. If anyone can fake an orgasm it’s her. Let’s hope not-so Lonely Boy is a little more adventurous between the sheets than he is in real life.

Who am I kidding? That kid looks about as vanilla as they come. My money is on a lack of bedroom sparkage. We all know Hillary isn’t going to be a permanent fixture on GG, so I’m betting it’s Dan’s bedroom boredom that sends this A-lister packing.

We’ll just have to wait and find out next week. With the entire group in a tizzy (Eric hates Jenny, Serena hates Nate and Blair, Blair hates the world), things are going to get even more exciting. I just hope someone puts Jenny in her place. With some eggs. To her face.

That shapeless "dress" is what you get for lying to Dan!

I think we can all agree that it’s not nearly as fun watching Vanessa Abrams be a bitch as it is watching Blair Waldorf.  Mostly because Blair doesn’t normally get bogged down by remorse…at least not right away.

In an episode all about playing games, some people just didn’t know when to stop.  Take Vanessa being even more of a home-wrecker than usual.  As I watched her almost mess up the blossoming love between Dan and Olivia, all I could think about was how the dress that the wardrobe people put her in at the end of the episode was obviously punishment for her being selfish.  And my next thought: when did giving a speech at a Parents’ Weekend dinner become so damn important?

But as Vanessa, Blair, (and Olivia, though unbeknownst to her) battled it out for the right to stand atop the flowery podium at Parents’ Weekend, we saw too many claws come out. Perfectly manicured claws, mind you, but sharp claws nonetheless. Yeah, Vanessa can get off the hook quickly for what she almost did to Dan and Olivia – those Humphrey’s are incredibly forgiving people – but I can’t say the same for Blair and Chuck. Make him kiss a guy (which, by the way, was incredibly hot)? Fine. But lie to him and manipulate him to get what you want?

No one manipulates Chuck Bass. Not even Blair.

And the same goes for Serena, which Nate Archibald may find out the hard way. Before I get into this little Rounders-meets-Gossip-Girl storyline, I’d like to take a moment to welcome Nate back to the show. For the past 5 episodes he’s taken a backseat with Bree Buckley and we haven’t seen much of his cuteness. I know he wasn’t pregenant/post pregnant like Lily Bass, so I wonder what was keeping him from the screen? Meh, it doesn’t matter; he’s back….and falling in line with the family once again.

And of course that means hurting someone important in his life just because Grandfather (really, is there something wrong with “Grandpa”? Do people really call him Grandfather??) said so. Now, Serena deserves a little hurt now and then seeing what she’s pulled on other people, but I was really on her side hoping to get Carter Basin back safe and sound….without the rough hands of an oil rig guy. What? He’s hot and I love having a date with him every Monday.

But Carter Basin isn’t coming back, at least for now. And S may never forgive Nate for playing her way better than she played poker.

And that’s where the episode ended. But, as we all know, the games do not. They never end for this UES crowd. Especially considering next week is Halloween.

Who's Queen B now!?

Like some of my fellow College Candies, I was not smitten with the season 3 premiere of Gossip Girl. In fact, I felt lost, upset and alone after the show ended. All I wanted was the simplicity of Season 1, which got me thinking about just curling up on the couch, diving into a box of Godivas and rewatching my box set of that first glorious season.

For the 4th time.

Luckily, before I reached that point of desperation, our friends at On Location tours gave me a far better option to rekindle my love affair with GG. In the form of a bus tour of Manhattan, showing off the hot spots of the show. So. much. better. and only slightly less caloric than my original plan. Mostly because I brought some Godiva for the road(iva).

OK, so the tour was pretty touristy. So touristy that me and my friend were two of the five Americans on the bus. Pretty much everyone else was a visitor from another country. But I guess Gossip Girl and a love for all things WASPy and UES are the only things people around the globe can agree on. And despite the mix of languages and accents, we all came together to see the sites and scenes of our favorite TV show.

The tour kicked off at the Palace hotel, home of the Van Der Woodsens (and now Chuck Bass), in addition to being the office of the former Bart Bass (RIP, BB boy). As we moved on to each of the famed GG locales, our bubbly redheaded guide explained the significance of each location and spiced things up by showing us clips of the show featuring the very site we were visiting. (So I got to enjoy my Season 1 marathon afterall!)

I’d already been to some of the places before, like Dylan’s Candy Bar and Henri Bendel, but others were totally new. I got to gossip on the steps of the New York Museum, which doubles as the Constance Billiard School for Girls/St. Jude’s School for boys, take a frosting shot at Babycakes (the bakery that Dan buys pie at on the Thanksgiving episode), and glimpse at the exterior of the Archibald’s gorgeous townhouse on the Upper East Side.

Oh, and beyond all the hot destinations, our tour guide gave us a little something extra, quipping about Nate’s “mangs” (man bangs) and filling everyone in about the hottest off-the-set gossip. Did you know Lindsay Lohan was slated to play Blair Waldorf in the movie version of Gossip Girl? I didn’t. Also, gross.

From the steps of the Met to the Vera Wang on Madison (where Lily gets her fourth wedding dress fitted), the tour was a success. Sure, I didn’t get a little one-on-one time with Chuck Bass, but it did remind me why I loved this show so much in the first place.

Now I’m gearing up for tonight’s episode…much to the dismay of my male roommate.

10. Last Call- 3:30 AM.
This means you have plenty of time to dance on bars. If time is money, then take that money and spend it on shots of Patron.

9. The boys are BANGIN’
Is there anything hotter than an NYC boy? From the Columbia law students (hi, yum, slamshows) to the prepster Upper East Siders (hi, Chuck Bass), the city has a gaggle of gorgeous gentlemen. Beware of guidos.

8. SHOPPING.
Sample Sales, Saks and SHOES SHOES & MORE SHOES. Aughhhh! I want it all!

7. Celebs, celebs, celebs!
Okay, so every day after work I walk past Rockefeller Center, desperately looking for Alec Baldwin. Come out wherever you are, Jack Donaghy!

6. Slamming Nightlife
The hot, trendy bars (like the one we’ll be partying at); more clubs than you can think of; bars with crazy themes… there’s something for everyone in this here city.

5. Yummy foods
Magnolia, Serendipity, Dylan’s Candy Bar, Crumbs… and that’s just dessert! 24/7 diners for all your drunk munchie needs and New York pizza? Need I say more?

4. The Sports
Kidding. Screw the Yankees, most overrated team ever. Not to mention the travesty that is the Mets. But, both the new stadiums are worth checking out. Particularly if they’re playing the Cleveland Indians.

3. Central Park
In the middle of the craziest city that never sleeps, you have one of the most peaceful, beautiful parks around. Did I mention all the DOGGIES everywhere?! AHHHHH so cute!

2. The Culture
The MoMa has free entry on Fridays from 4-8, not to mention the Met, Lincoln Center, Guggenheim… After coming to NYC, you’ll practically be an art historian.

1. It’s just the freaking best city in the world.
I mean, really. NYC is what it’s all about. The coolest little Island that packs a punch. Sex and the City, Seinfeld, SNL, David Letterman, How I Met Your Mother, Friends and now Conan all agree: New York City rocks.

Gossip and rumors are main staples on college campuses across the nation, and the website Juicy Campus (which was recently shut down), shows just how far people are willing to go to spread gossip. At some point in everyone’s life, gossip comes up – good or bad. Gossip, in moderation, can be just another thing, but in a culture that obsesses about pop culture and dishing dirt (think of websites like Perez Hilton), the fixation of dishing dirt about someone else isn’t going away any time soon.

Although many of us love to gather on Monday nights to watch Gossip Girl and watch the scandals of the Upper East Side unfold, no one likes it when their own personal life is exposed in the cafeteria over wilted lettuce or when private information rolls off the lips of classmates before the professor starts the class. While gossip may seem like something that comes and goes, it can leave its dirty scars behind all too often.

Maybe because it’s an all-women’s college and women often use each other to bring others down, or maybe it is the size of the university, but the Hollins rumor mill never seems to cease on campus. It constantly peeks its nasty little head around the corner for students that least expect it. Whether it hurts friendships, ruins reputations, or isolates students from campus events — gossip can cause tremendous damage.

Remember when my mom and I met with the President to discuss the bullying that happened my first year? Well, upon arrival at Hollins for my sophomore year, the student body buzzed (never to my face, though) with the rumor that Hollins implemented a bullying policy because of me… being a bully. No one knew that my mom and I brought forth the issues that happened with me because of a bully on campus, demanding the President to come up with a bullying policy. No one knew what happened to me as a first year. However, everyone seemed to accuse me of things that I did not do.

Time after time, I have met girls on campus who tell me how “mean” I sounded from other students’ tales of meetings with me. One of my friends was even warned by another student to not be my friend. Whenever I hear these stories, the people who spoke out against me are always peers I have never met myself. They are usually students who I have never had contact with. How can anyone pass judgment before they have met someone else, especially in the context of putting someone else down? I don’t know how anyone could go around talking so negatively about someone else, when they have never personally had an experience with that person.

I have seen gossip make people unable to maintain decent friendships on campus, as well. For example, this girl named Emma (name changed) was known around campus to have a “private jet,” an extensive collection of designer apparel in her closet, and people even talked of her having major connections to the sports industry. Girls on campus thought they would take advantage of Emma by befriending her, only to go into her closet and steal her designer clothes. Not only would they go and steal her stuff, but they would talk about taking from her because she deserved it as a “rich kid.”

Truth is, Emma does not have a private jet (although her dad is a pilot), she doesn’t have immediate connections to the sports industry, and the only designer clothes she owns come from outlet malls. Now, whenever students meet Emma for the first time, they can’t get past her “rich kid” reputation. How can Emma expect to make friends on campus when everyone seems to focus on what they heard about her, instead of actually getting to know her?

Talk spreads like wildfire. I see it all the time. Just walk into the cafeteria on Monday morning and other people know where you were over the weekend. How? My first reaction to this, when it happened to me, was that those who were asking found out from Facebook. Since then I have had to make my Facebook entirely private, along with many other students on campus, in order to have any privacy. Though the gossip has not ceased.

Worst of all, it doesn’t help when the administration plays into the whole “Guess what I heard about you” game. On more than one occasion I have heard of students going to speak with the Dean of Students or head of Residence Life, only to come out with gossip from other students told to them by the authority figure who uses the gossip against them. If the administration lends an ear to gossip, of course the student body is going to keep it up.

I have heard many rumors about myself here at Hollins, and 99% of them never happened, resemble nothing from the truth, and have no merit. At first, I am not going to lie, the rumors really bothered me. A lot of them were hurtful, and a lot of them have stuck (despite not being true), but there comes a point when you have to displace yourself from that, even when it seems like everyone is talking about you. There have been so many times when I have seen my fellow peers break down about something that was said about them, and even though you want to stand up and say “No – that’s not true! That didn’t happen!” you can’t, and it doesn’t seem right or fair.

If sisterhood exists at Hollins, then why does gossip own the souls of most students? Whenever someone hears something that is obviously not true, no one speaks up – they just go along with it, and that is unacceptable. I am sick of hearing gossip about people and myself, especially at a school that talks about the loyalty and respectfulness of its students. If Hollins continues to let rumors take hold of the student body, I believe there will be no way to return to a clean, respectful state in the student body. No one will be able to avoid it, and that just seems entirely too extreme.

I know Hollins isn’t alone in this gossip battle – tell me about your school and how big of an impact gossip has on the student body? Tonight’s episode of The City was all about celebrating the holidays with the people you love… by kicking them out of your apartment.

First Olivia gives Nevan the boot (kindly…or as kindly as she is able to communicate), and then Adam kicks Jay to the curb.

What a way to start the new year, eh?

And, speaking of new years, looks like Erin isn’t making any resolutions this time around. She seems to be perfectly content effing guys over left and right. The girl changes her mind about guys more often than I change the channel during an MTV commercial break. And those are long! I mean, my god, woman! She is the poster child for not missing something until it’s gone. Or for taking advantage of guys until she messes it up so much they dump her. Or for being a generally annoying person. You get the idea.

When she has something good (Duncan) she finds the need to go out and bring another (hotter) dude home. When that guy starts showing some attachment, she runs to the hills (of Toronto) and falls more in love with Duncan. But when Duncan asks her to be committed to only him she gets sad and confused and pushes the bearded man away once more only to spend her NYE single, clutching her phone, and getting pity kisses from her couple friends.

You brought this on yourself, Erin. And, frankly, I’m getting really sick of your flighty, I’m-so-stoned attitude. This is the real world; make some decisions and take responsibility for your actions!

And then there is the Allie/Adam/Jay sitch, which somehow all started over an intense game of Scrabble? I’m so confused. One minute Adam and Allie are discussing a killer 20 point word, the next minute Allie is asking for space and then somehow Jay gets booted from his apartment?

Did I miss something? How did Jay get pulled into this? Was it his Scrabble board?

All the drama fully boils over at the big New Year’s bash where Jay wears a sparkly vest (and looks smoking hot in a top hat) and Allie gets totally sh*tfaced, although I guess that’s what happens when you haven’t eaten since 2007.

Erin cries, Jay asks Whit if he can crash with her, and Adam and Allie make some lame ass toast to new beginnings. Yeah, we’ll see about that. I can’t wait to see what happens next week. Hopefully it involves Erin, her weird hair-accessories and an unfortanate mishap with a garbage truck.
