Now that it’s closing in on September (I’m sorry for reminding you!), I’m starting to add some Fall basics to my wardrobe. Denim shirts had a huge resurgence last year and are now a staple in every fashionista’s closet. However, most people are stumped as to how to wear them. I found one on sale at H&M that’s perfect for experimentation!

Summertime is all about lightweight, flowy fabrics that allow your skin to breathe. Even though most of my pants-wardrobe consists of jeans, I try to remember that and pick up a few pairs of lighter pants for hot summer days and nights. Cargo-style pants are huge right now, especially after the release of J Brand’s Houlihan cargo.

As it is now August, I’m starting my hunt for transition pieces. That means summer shapes that are going to carry me through until the time when I’m busting out my sweaters and packing away my shorts. I’ve really built up my tank top collection this summer, focusing on pieces that I can wear in a variety of settings and, hopefully, once school beings again. The other day, I decided to inventory my tank tops. I split them up into super casual (boyfriend tanks, etc), casual or dressy and just dressy. And you know what I found? My casual or dressy pile was nearly empty. It’s so hard to find a tank top that work equally well for a day at the beach and a night out!

I’m feeling very casual lately. Like so casual, that I wore jeans to work three days out of five last week (unheard of for girly me!).
