I’ll admit it, I’m a compulsive yo-yo dieter. With the ups and downs of college, I don’t think I know a single girl who has remained the same weight all through college. Whether it means gaining the freshman 15 or crash dieting to drop ten pounds for a formal a month away, if you’re anything like me, your weight has been on a roller coaster ride over the past four years.
Although I always knew I was this kind of dieter, my fears were confirmed in a nutrition class last semester when we had to take a test called “what kind of dieter” are you. The title of yo-yo dieter basically means that I try out different diets from time to time, losing weight and then gaining some back. I am sort of a health nut as well and compulsively keep up with new diet, nutrition, and fitness trends.
But, recent research has shown that dieting actually makes you FATTER in the long run.
