Five Stages of a New Relationship

If you just started seeing someone new, chances are your relationship is going to go through some stages. These stages happen in almost every relationship (I don’t have a PhD in relationships or anything, I’m just going by my own experiences). So here are some stages that you and your new bf or gf will probably go through. And if you don’t, your relationship will probably end in a terrible break-up that has you eating a gallon of ice cream every day for a week (just kidding…you’ll only eat a gallon the first break-up night).

1. Butterflies and rainbows

So you two just started dating, and obviously everything is perfect. You want to spend every minute with each other and you can’t keep your hands off each other. You’ve forgotten who your friends are because you haven’t seen them in a week; you’re too busy being complimented on how perfect you are. Read More »

Coupled. It’s Game Time

I know there are a lot of girls out there who wish their boyfriend would just put down the friggin controller already and step away from the Playstation. I get it – no one likes sitting around watching their boyfriend play videogames for 4 hours. I can’t imagine anything more boring. But (and yes, this is the nerd in me talking), maybe instead of standing in front of the TV or tearing the controller out of his hand, you should join him!

My boyfriend and I are both gamers and, trust me, it’s a lot of fun to play together. (Seriously, there’s a reason he plays so often. These games are addicting.)

Video games are a great way to unwind after a long day of class. Especially when the only shows on TV are repeats of The O.C. (from the 3rd season when it sucked) and Judge Judy. They also happen to be a great way to take out some boyfriend frustration in a healthy way. Instead of yelling at your man because he forgot your birthday (because he was so busy playing Halo…), you can just beat the crap out of him in a game of Super Smash Brothers.

Also, much like any activity you do together, playing video games is a good way to get closer with your BF. You’re showing your guy that you’re interested in his interests and that’s something he’ll definitely appreciate. Probably not enough to let you play all the games he’s obsessed with (he doesn’t want to affect his standings), but there are tons of games out there that he won’t mind playing with his girl. Six Things Every Girl Secretly Wishes Her Boyfriend Would Do

"I really wish you'd give a little more between the sheets..."

Girls are known for nagging. It’s not something we’re proud of, but, honestly, do we really have a choice? If we didn’t pester our boyfriends we would never get them out of their man cave and into a civilized restaurant.

But despite the fact that guys don’t whine and give us puppy dog eyes when they want us to do something, it turns out that they their own list of secret wishes when it comes to our behavior.

The dudes over at Guyism.com recently shared all the things they secretly wish their girlfriend would do. While we won’t be enjoying Fantasy Football anytime soon (seriously WHAT IS THE POINT OF IT?!), we do understand the allure of the sexy Halloween costume and promise to continue sporting it every year.

This little list was quite enlightening (guys like funny girls? Score!) and got us thinking (as usual) about the things that we secretly wish they would do.

Our boyfriends are wonderful; we love them more than anything. But if they did some (or preferably all) of the following, we’d be sending a mass text for a girls night ASAP to brag to all of our girlfriends about how absolutely amazing our guy is (and chances are they’ll be getting a little luckier then usual come bedtime…).

The CC Weekly Weigh In: It’s Over

hes not into you

Let’s be honest here for a second: books like “He’s Just Not That Into You” exist for a reason. And that reason is that women, as a collective, are really good at convincing ourselves of feelings and relationships that just aren’t there. We get so caught up in luuuurve that we don’t let ourselves see what’s really going on.

You know you’ve been there. You get a drunk text from a guy you heart at 3am and think, “Awww, he’s thinking about me!” You’re giddy and excited (and secretly start planning his birthday gift) and when you don’t get a text the next day (or 3 days after that…) you reason that he’s busy, he’s stressed out, or he has a knack for flushing his phone down the toilet when he’s drunk and he did party pretty hard last night. And your friends totally agree.

But, no matter how delusional we get (and, home girl, you know you get delusional), there comes a time when the signs are bright and flashing and undeniable: this kid is over it. Done. Dunzo. See ya never, biatch.

For me, it was when I made plans to go camping with my boyfriend, only to meet him at his house and see him leaving with another chick. (Yeah, it was rough, but I had the can opener, so I’d like to see how that turned out for him!) Or the guy who told me he was moving home for the summer…and then I saw him at the bar later that week.

For the CollegeCandy writers, there were equally obvious signs: Read More »

Fashionably Techie: Spring Savings!

laptop.jpg[Like a magpie, you gravitate towards things that are shiny: cell phones, TVs, anything that allows you to play Rock Band. But just because you love ‘em doesn’t mean you know much about ‘em. That’s where we come in.

Every week we will be highlighting the best, coolest and shiniest in technology. Consider us your personal Geek Squad. And let us tell ya; with CC on your side, geek has never looked so chic.]

So it’s March. Time of leprechauns and half-nice weather. It’s also a time of sales. Tech sales. So here’s some sites to find some cool stuff for cheap. Because everyone loves cheap.

Outlet PC

So maybe you’re not quite ready to sit on your floor and build yourself and an awesome machine, but that doesn’t mean you don’t need stuff for you current comp. And I don’t know if you’ve noticed or not but cables for your comp are EXPENSIVE and get lost every time you move. This site isn’t flashy but it does have all your basics on it for really cheap.

Newegg.com

Slightly prettier site with a much larger variety of things to shop. Not just PC, but everything tech. From XBox 360 products to new TVs to laptops, this site has it all. The prices are REALLY reasonable making that decision on whether or not to get that extra controller just that much easier. Not to mention the phones. Assault with a Deadly Taco

taco.jpg19-year-old Zachary Moir is being held on $1,500 bail and has been sitting in jail since Tuesday. His crime is a little surprising as he didn’t bring a gun to school, yell fire in a crowded movie theater, steal or drive drunk. Instead Zachary Moir has been charged with domestic violence battery after throwing a taco at his mother.

That’s right, a taco.

Dena Moir, Zachary’s mother, called Volusia County sheriff’s deputies to on Tuesday to report the incident. After several attempts to get him to come to dinner, she did what any frustrated mother would do: she went upstairs to her son’s room and disconnected his xBox. Well, Zachary wasn’t having that, so he called his mother a name and asked her to leave his room.

If only it ended there, Zachary Moir would just be another bratty teenager who wanted to play video games instead of join his mother for some delicious tacos. But, of course, Zachary got hungry. Maybe the smell of ground meat wafting up to his room were too much to handle, or perhaps he even felt a little guilty that his mother slaved over a hot stove. Either way, he went to the kitchen to nosh on some mouth-watering Mexican. Read More »

Rock Band: The Greatest Game of All Time (Really!)

rockband_071204_ms.jpgI have eight roommates: three boys, two wide screen TV’s, two Xboxes, and one Wii.

When I first moved in, I spent a lot of time watching the boys play game after game of Halo, while I longed to throw the video game systems out the window and watch Vh1. They even competed against each other from different rooms. Headsets were involved. I had no idea how I would last.

I appreciate video games, I really do, but I’m just no good at them. I didn’t play them growing up, except for one or two games of Mario Brothers at a friend’s house (I always died on the first level…those darn mushrooms!). I simply lack the hand-eye coordination and the patience to be good at them.

One day, I came home and stumbled, literally, into a mass of boxes, packaging, wires and…is that a drum kit? “It’s Rock Band”, my roommate exclaimed proudly. “It’s like Guitar Hero, but with bass, guitar, drums and vocals”. At that moment, my life changed forever. Read More »
