Thanksgiving weekend is always a good time. Lots of food, old high school friends, red Starbucks cups filled with gingerbread lattes (which I’ve already spotted…too soon?) and of course, the annual night before Thanksgiving party. This night is always bound to be one of the craziest of the year, even though everyone swears this time will be different, it never is. Sometimes kids do the high school thang, (throwing a house party) but in case you go the bar, I have picked the perfect Thanksgiving dress for you from Rent The Runway.
You can also wear this dress for holiday parties back at school! Different people, same dress, same rental…
I love this Red Z spoke Zac Posen sweetheart dress. The color puts me the mood for the holidays and the detailing on the strap is fresh and interesting. Read More »

I’m a firm believer that there is nothing better than designer clothing you can actually afford. For the past five years, Target’s Go! International collections have made many dreams come true, bridging the gap between affordability and designer fashion. They’ve collaborated with many designers over the last five years, and in celebration they’re releasing a 34-piece collection featuring dresses from 17 of their favorite designers! Yes, they’re giving you another chance to snatch up something you missed the first time around (or the second if you didn’t want to pay inflated eBay prices).
SQUEAL!
To celebrate Target’s bridging of our favorite designers with a price tag that won’t have us eating ramen noodles for the rest of our college careers, we’re honoring our 5 favorite collections of all time. So thank you, Target, for filling my closet with designer threads when all I really went to the store for was a roll of toilet paper and some shampoo.

Well, Target is at it again. Now that the not-so-Gaultier line has come and gone, it is Zac Posen’s turn to take over the racks of Target. Posen’s line won’t debut until April 25th in stores, but we got a super special preview of the collection and Zac has certainly hit the target this time (no pun intended). And now that I’ve seen it, I’m seriously considering packing up my tent and camping out in Brooklyn the night before. It’s that good.
Unlike predecessor Gaultier, Posen’s Target line actually reflects his own design aesthetic, without looking cheap or low quality. Considered a newcomer to the industry, Posen’s feminine image is easily recognizable and is reflected in his Target Collection. From bathing suits to a tuxedo suit, the collection literally ranges from A to Zac. Read More »

This week our usual Fashion Porn was placed on the back burner to make room for the fashion lover’s Christmas: Mercedes Benz Fashion Week.
As fashion week wraps up, I already have a long shopping list of what I must find once Spring clothes hit the shelves. While I’m aware that this is months away, the collections this year were so beautiful that I’m going to have to start saving up in order to stock my closet with the affordable versions of the designs I saw this week.
And although it’s hard to play favorites with the many diverse collections that walked the runways, there are five fabulous designers that really stood out amongst the prints, sky high heels, and oversized accessories at this year’s NY Fashion Week. Fashion Week MVPs, if you will

[There are some women out there that we just can’t get out of our minds. No, we aren’t switching teams - yet - but we do have some serious crushes on some pretty fierce females. These ladies are all special in their own right and we aren’t ashamed to tell the world we love them.]
When guys tell me that they think Natalie Portman is the hottest girl alive, I secretly jump for joy. I’ve been crushing hard on Natalie Portman for.e.ver, because on top of being a great actress, she also seems like a real person — the type of girl you’d want to be best friends with.
For starters she’s beautiful and brainy. I mean the girl is a Harvard grad! And brainiacs (OK, nerds) around the globe fell head over heels for her for her role as Padme Amidala in the Star Wars prequels. She continued to be loved by guys everywhere for her role in V for Vendetta. And I’m sure many guys fled to the theatres to see her naked in Hotel Chevalier.
But she isn’t just for the boys. She’s appeared in chick flicks such as Where the Heart Is, Anywhere But Here, The Other Boleyn Girl and Closer. Not to mention everyone’s favorite indie flicks, Garden State and My Blueberry Nights. Her roles have greatly varied, showing that she’s a versatile actress.
And, come on, Natalie Portman is absolutely gorgeous as well. She’s the muse of Zac Posen; guest-judged on Project Runway; posed as Audrey Hepburn on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar; and very few ladies can pull off a shaved head, but Natalie rocked it, along with some super cute boyish hairstyles while her hair grew back. We all look to magazines for our fashion sense and know-how, but what if we can’t afford all those styles in Elle and on the runway? College Candy understands your pain (because we also like to split our budget between cocktails and clothes) and we want to help you get the fabulous looks at a fraction of the price.
This winter jeweled clutches are all the rage. After Sex and the City, Fendi has become way more popular, but who can REALLY afford a small clutch for more than a grand? Here is cheaper version…on the left is the Fendi, on the right is a La Regale from Macy’s for a mere $39.00. Read More »

Next to Welcome Week, NY Fashion Week is our favorite week of the year. We may actually like it more, but only because we can remember what happened/don’t feel like total hell at the end of it.What could be better than watching our favorite designers send their newest duds down the runway? And what better way to spend our days than by taking all those delectable looks and figuring out ways to make them our own?
Ooo wee! We get so excited just thinking about it.
This year’s fashion week did not dissapoint. Everyone from Nanette Lepore to The Gap pulled out all the stops and sent some brilliant looks through the tents at Bryant Park. We sifted through every last collection (yes, our lives are sad and horribly difficult) to bring you our favorites of Fashion Week 2008. Sure, actually being at the shows next to Anna Wintour and Rachel Zoe would have been glamorous and awesome, but we got to do this in our PJs.
Which is how we roll.
And wouldn’t want it any other way.
Click on any picture below to get the full size image and the reasoning behind our difficult choice. Read More »
