Zara recently started shipping to the US and fashionistas all over America rejoiced! This pair of trousers is SO on-trend; androgynous, but still sexy. I love the deep shade of burgundy and knew they would make the perfect fall addition to my wardrobe. I decided to stick with a classic day-and-night review of this one.

Let’s start with daytime.

Start with the burgundy trousers and throw in this camel trapeze top. The horizontal stripes keep it interesting but aren’t so big that you balloon. I kept accessories super simple with a horn pendant and a leather-look satchel. Finish off with a pair of black ballet flats, which I’m sure everyone already has in their wardrobe. If you have a pair of fake glasses, they would suit this outfit perfectly – I like to call it “professor chic”.

And now onto night.

Even though this do look like professor-pants, they can definitely be made sexy. Start with this standout sequined tee in a gorgeous pewter shade. These black suede pumps (coincidentally made by Zara as well) feature a beyond-sexy stiletto heel in a contrasting silver and scream dangerous. Keep accessories simple in this look too: a pair of jet black studs and a chunky bangle or two in muted shades will do. I was so inspired by this look that I included a rocker faux-hawk ponytail and nude lippie for a corresponding beauty look!

If the burgundy shade is a bit intimidating, fear not! This smart trouser comes in safe shades like grey and black, in addition to burgundy and punchy mustard. I’m not sure about you, but in my neck of the woods, fall is in full force. Sayonara summer, the cold weather is back! I do love fall fashion; cozy sweaters, leggings with boots, the whole bit. Along with fall pieces come delectable Fall fabrics, my favourite being suede. It’s super luscious and just as fancy as leather. Since Zara is now offering online shopping in the States, I decided to celebrate and feature a gorgeous suede purse from their Fall line-up: the Suede City bag.

Zara hails from the fashionable continent of Europe and has a very fashion-forward approach. Their purses are known for being high-quality, lasting for years and years. They also use superior materials, like genuine suede and leather, which is rare of a “high street” shop. Zara’s design aesthetic is always simple, featuring clean lines and nothing flashy.

The Suede City Bag is 14′ L x 11′ H x 3′ D and measures medium-to-large. It closes with a full-zip top and features a cotton lining. I’m going to be honest with you — my first thought after watching that Shopaholic film was ‘so this means if I got a credit card, I could have amazing clothes like that too?’

Then there are others who are always dressed so fashionably that you wonder if they live in a clothing store. Or how freaking early they wake up to pull an entire outfit together before making the trek to class.

While everyone is fabulous in their own right, we thought we should celebrate the campus fashionistas of the world for their continued excellence in not looking like a hot mess for class. So, we started stalking those girls (and guys!) on campus to get a few pics and get some tips on their personal style. And maybe a restraining order or two. But it’s worth it to highlight fresh, unique wardrobe choices that show personality and the courage to wear what you believe in.

And to kick off this whole revolution I chose my friend Shane. I couldn’t think of a more fashionable person; he makes bold choices with his wardrobe daily, making him not only my best dressed guy friend, but my best dressed friend. Period. I mean, isn’t his whole silver eclectic vibe amazingly hot?

1) Describe your personal style.
Clean cut and sharp. You can never go wrong with the shirt and tie combo. I like to mix it up sometimes with a neon jacket or retro shades, but otherwise my outfits are pretty simple.

2) You can’t leave the house without your ____.
iPhone. Oh, and during the summer, my aviators.

3) Name your favorite place to shop.
The vintage shops along the streets of Shanghai are the best places in the world to shop. And also Zara.

4) What/who is the biggest influence on your style?
I like David Beckham – he always seems very polished and put together. Having a Spice Girl at your side isn’t bad either.

5) What’s your favorite trend, past or present?
The double-breasted jacket. Looks good on everyone, even my old man.

We clearly share a mutual love for all things fashion and all things cheesy teen television, which is why I was so excited about to let MK in on my little Gossip Girl fashion secret:

Not that I would buy (or could afford) Serena’s $450 dollar Tory Burch sequin dress that she wore on her date with Dan, but unlike poor little me, these characters have stylists.

And obvs, they’re much better than raisin-faced Rachel Zoe.

The best part about fashion is the way the individual pieces are mixed. And although I consider myself fashion forward, sometimes I don’t know how the hell to spice up a great piece. I usually just throw on something lowbrow and have all-together missed an opportunity to show my personality by mixing and matching pieces I wouldn’t necessarily expect.

Which is why I was taken by the styles on Gossip Girl in the first place. If you weren’t obsessed with Serena’s gold dress cum cropped jean jacket and black tights ensemble, you, my friend have got problems. It was fab. Check out the Gossip Girl Fashion Gallery after the jump!

The CW had previously jumped on the TV fashion train, showcasing styles from slightly unfashionable shows like Smallville and One Tree Hill. But with the height and glamour of Gossip Girl, the store is sure to take off, or at least get a lot of hits by ladies in the know.

My favorite part of this Gossip Girl style is the fact that they are fully aware of the fact that their normal viewers cannot afford most of the Upper East Side glamour these fictional girls are privy to. So, they’re mixing it up with high-end pieces (like the Tory Burch) and low end buys from stores like H&M and Zara.

And since H&M and Zara do not sell merch online, it’s the perfect opportunity to pick up some goods you can’t score…unless you live in the city.
