I have a confession to make: I am addicted to Cheez-Its.
Wait. That’s not the right confession.
Let me start again.
I have a confession to make: my metabolism is slow. Slower than my grandmother driving on the highway.
Super slow. Slowest EVER.
I do everything I can to speed up that bad-boy; I eat a sensible breakfast every morning, I work out before heading into the office and I keep lots of fiber in my diet. No matter what I do, though, I can’t seem to speed up my damn metabolism.
But a new study out of Germany tells me that there may be another way. Apparently, drinking two glasses of water can speed up my metabolic rate by 30%! Even better, H2O can keep my metabolism at that fabulous rate for 30 to 40 minutes; the perfect amount of time to scarf down some delicious Cheez-Its (almost guilt free!).
Way to go, Germany. This is the best news since I found out The Hills was coming back for a third round.
And if that lovely water fact isn’t enough to make you an agua lover, try these facts on for size:
1. Sometimes when our brain tells us it is hungry for some cake, we may be misunderstanding. The truth is, our brain needs something; not necessarily food. Many times, that something is water. Drinking some good ‘ole H2O instead of housing a pizza will fill you up without the extra calories.
2. Water is (obviously) the best way to quench your thirst. But, not only does it cure that nasty hangover, it also rids your body of toxins and sodium and so much more.
I think its time we all ditch the diet soda and hop on the water train.
