Known for his sophisticated, contemporary women’s wear, Saunders made a name for himself through his use of unexpected prints and colors to modernize simple silhouettes. His Spring 2009 New York Fashion Week collection won raves from critics who hailed his “super-colorful” fitted tops, floaty skirts and “brilliant” t-shirt style dresses.
“I love textiles, I love color,” he told NY1 last month. “It’s as simple as that.”
Stand-out pieces in his Target collection include a two-tone sleeveless button-down with skinny belt, stretch skinny pants with satin trim, an ombre chiffon skirt, a colorful marble-print long-sleeve button-down and a colorblock dress.
